I stopped this at the point where you said goodbye to your flat, so that I could comment. We are so alike! I remember how I cried when I said goodbye to each room in my first apartment, and thanked the apartment for the memories. I literally sat outside in my car and cried, even though I was moving into a much nicer and bigger place. I also cried a river when I sold my 10 year old car! I think we are really saying goodbye to and acknowledging the memories and milestones, and the passage of time, feeling so sentimental. Also feeling really proud of what we accomplished during that time, and how we have grown, the challenges we faced and conquered. Congrats on all of your amazing achievements!

Hi Mark! just a tip for the wind whistling through your flat... double sided door snakes! my partner just got one for his place and it’s perfect! they’re inexpensive and genius because they slide under your door and have a “snake” on both sides that stops the draft and being double sided means you don’t have to keep pushing it against the door to block the draft! I actually got tired of people telling me I should be over what I went trough with my ex. I really lost trust in people and especially men after. But what I went trough took me years to get over and I lost all my so called friends. So I understand how it is wanting to sort out your brain on your own. It’s extremely sad not really having any friends and I often feel really alone, but I feel stronger and more able to take on life and what it has in store for me. I had a best friend of 15 years who was very toxic & I could never find it in me to cut things off bc of the good memories we had & the fear of her getting angry at me or trying to persuade me not to leave & me feeling the need to give in. Despite how much anxiety I was feeling, I told her how she hurt me all these years & told her we can’t be friends anymore. OF COURSE like I said, she was able to persuade me & make me feel bad for leaving, so I have her another chance & things were still the same. Luckily it was after we graduated, so I finally decided just to stop replying since I wouldn’t have to face her in person anymore. I can tell you honestly that now I’m so much better. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me. Toxic people will only drag you down. I promise you that you’ll be able to leave that person one day. Be confident in your willingness to be your true authentic self even when separate from them. Depend on yourself....be your own source of happiness. Good luck

The relationship thing, I can relate. About a year ago I really liked one of my friends from college (I’m from America so University for anyone in the UK) and honestly I shouldn’t have because he treated me like absolute crap. He played a lot of mind games and tried to make me jealous as well. When we were alone he was super kind to me but as soon as we were around our friend group (which is 99% guys) he was a complete dick to me. He actually hurt me physically with drum sticks (it’s a long story) but I just couldn’t shake the feelings even though my friends told me I should. Eventually I did realize that he was just not a good person and was not someone I wanted to be around because of his actions so now I never speak to him or see him, and actually am in a happy relationship now. I hope one day you find your person. 🖤✨
Mark.. I loved this boy for 2 years since 2016. I am 16 years old now and I actually loved this boy I never felt like that about anyone else! He knew what he was doing! He always broke my heart! He would always get overprotective when I would hug a boy when I’d be sad or sit next to a boy at school he would get really angry but he dated so many girls when he apparently ‘loved me’ and that’s hurt that really did! I’m crying writing this because it hurts love hurts! I would always talk about it and my friends would be like ‘he’s toxic’ but they didn’t see him as I did which hurt as I saw good in him but it just won’t come out! 😭💔

I’ve literally just gone through the same thing as you Mark. I’ve liked someone for at least 2 years... which now I think about it, it’s stupid. Sometimes he was nice, sometimes he wasn’t but I was blind to that. No matter how many times my friends warned me, I ignored it and stupidly defended him. I am now so close to being completely over him... it’s hard. But I am currently talking to someone who actually has a genuine conversation with me all the time. The relationship thing, I can relate. About a year ago I really liked one of my friends from college (I’m from America so University for anyone in the UK) and honestly I shouldn’t have because he treated me like absolute crap. He played a lot of mind games and tried to make me jealous as well. When we were alone he was super kind to me but as soon as we were around our friend group (which is 99% guys) he was a complete dick to me. He actually hurt me physically with drum sticks (it’s a long story) but I just couldn’t shake the feelings even though my friends told me I should. Eventually I did realize that he was just not a good person and was not someone I wanted to be around because of his actions so now I never speak to him or see him, and actually am in a happy relationship now. I hope one day you find your person. 🖤✨
Mark.. I loved this boy for 2 years since 2016. I am 16 years old now and I actually loved this boy I never felt like that about anyone else! He knew what he was doing! He always broke my heart! He would always get overprotective when I would hug a boy when I’d be sad or sit next to a boy at school he would get really angry but he dated so many girls when he apparently ‘loved me’ and that’s hurt that really did! I’m crying writing this because it hurts love hurts! I would always talk about it and my friends would be like ‘he’s toxic’ but they didn’t see him as I did which hurt as I saw good in him but it just won’t come out! 😭💔

I one hundred percent get where your coming from only you know what's going on in your head and heart and only you can really get yourself through it, I have been there, it hurts alot at the end and even when you think your over it a wee reminder crops up or you see him and your heart tugs at those broken emotions that are linked with him, Mark what I've learned is that love will punch you in the gut before it hugs you - I hope so, anyway x

I was in a bad relationship for a couple of years and all my friends were telling me to leave them but it was really something I had to figure out and do on my own. I am so happy to be done with that person but it was my journey and something I needed to go through. We all need to follow our own paths and live our own lives and we are lucky to have amazing friends you just try and support us along the way! Sending love xoxox

I’ve literally just gone through the same thing as you Mark. I’ve liked someone for at least 2 years... which now I think about it, it’s stupid. Sometimes he was nice, sometimes he wasn’t but I was blind to that. No matter how many times my friends warned me, I ignored it and stupidly defended him.
I am now so close to being completely over him... it’s hard. But I am currently talking to someone who actually has a genuine conversation with me all the time. They like me for me and thats the best feeling.
Just nice to know... someone I look up to is just like me I guess 😋🤷🏻♀️

I’m really taking in the “getting over someone segment” - I relate to this so much. For me, post feelings for someone it’s so peaceful. It is so hard mate though, took me a year lol
