07/07/24 - Kitchen Renovation - Part 147

It's time to venture into the wild and untamed wilderness of...the porch! (Cue dramatic music and a lion's roar in the background.) But fear not, for Steve, our fearless leader and master of all things carpentry, is here to guide us through this treacherous terrain. He's already conquered the kitchen and the bathroom. Now, he's ready to tackle the challenge of weaving in new shingles with the old, like a hipster knitting a vintage sweater.
But before we can embark on this shingle-weaving extravaganza, we need to give the existing shingles a spa day. That's right, a spa day for shingles. It's like a mud mask for your roof, but instead of cucumber slices on your eyes, it's a bucket of soapy water and a scrub brush. Once those shingles are looking spick and span, Steve will work his magic, weaving in the new shingles with the old.
And when he's done, we'll reclaim the porch, opening it up to the fresh air and sunshine. The screen windows will keep out those pesky mosquitoes, who are just looking for a place to crash and binge-watch Netflix. And our cat Barley will have his own sanctuary to enjoy the great outdoors, where he can nap in the sun, and dream about chasing butterflies.
