Thanks. Great video. I've been playing with my paddle at about the 9-10 position, instead of 11. As a result, I hit a lot of 'chicken wing' shots. I'll work on that.
Fantastic video. It will for sure add a new amazing twist to my game. I will work very hard on it, because I do believe on the concept. Thank you so much! So grateful for your videos.
As I was watching this, I don’t necessarily have a partner to practice with but I would hit off the wall and have the same affect in improving my skills. Thanks for the idea.
Thank you so much very practical lessons! I also like to know what brand and model of your paddle you are using? I use long and narrow shape but looks like shape of paddle you are using gives more forgiving !!!👍👍👍👍!

great video!!!..Im new to pickelball--what a great game!!!!-a couple questions if I may...1. is their an optimal low base where the eyes are lower and the arm/hand are higher in relation to the body...in other words--the lower base the better?..2...during a volley, are u guys just blocking with an angled-up paddle(almost dead hands) or is their an actual hit in the volley,or hand flicks or baby slice..3..what pressure (1 to 10) are u holding the grip for volleys vs normal forehand stroke.....again---great video and thank you..Guy
interesting in pickle ball that you’d want to limit movement during volleys, as a tennis player my coach is always telling me to move my feet up at the net haha
hi, thank you for your videos. could you talk in the future about how to respond when your opponent hits with a spin (especially underspin)? thank you!
Why limit your movements when moving can give you more force in return? I hate standing up in the kitchen line...i keep my feet constantly moving and sligthly bent, with paddle upfront. My advantage, I go back to the original sport of both table tennis and badminton fundamentals for faster reflex, proper grip handling, and proper defensive stance. I catches majority of the drives like a net catching butterfly.
Less movement, is less errors and is quicker. They can hit the ball faster if they wanted to, but they are working together in this drill. They are kind of practicing to be playing like Ben Johns. Ben is recognized as being the most efficient player in pickleball. He only moves the minimum amount unless he does a fake, and drops the ball short.
I know they are just demonstrating the situation. But what I meant is in the real game... Your reaction time will be beaten most of the time if you're complacently standing around the kitchen line just swinging arm to hit.
Timoti Batac hello there, it has worked better for me to limit my movement especially the faster the speed of the ball. Again, if it doesn’t work for you stick to what does.
Tony M for us we trust each other and quite honestly we know where we are hitting the ball. When we have our clients do it we usually have them start at a slower pace till they get control
How come that you say you should keep the body still on a volley and just use your arm whereas in tennis, coaches say just using your arm without body movement is bad. Normally, the whole body controls the volley. Is it because the rackets are different - in pickleball, it is a paddle whereas in tennis, longer rackets are used?
joern matthias the close proximity and the speed of the ball. The higher level you go the less reaction time you have. The more movement you have the less likely you are of contacting the ball put in front or at all.
Thanks for your joyful demeanor Simone. You make all these videos fun to watch.
Very cool drill that I will start using! The Oliver-Sport paddle has made a big difference in refining my technique.
Phil used to be my tennis coach in MN, he is a great coach and a super kind person. I'm so happy to see Phil enjoying pickleball
This is one of the best pickleball instruction videos I have seen. Practical and to the point. Great tips! Thx!
Simone and Phil's attitude makes all the difference! Ta.
I got to know Phil Metz in MN and I called him the Tennis pastor. He has a nice personality and makes everyone feel better and an amazing player.
You two are amazing! I hope to get my hands that fast
Thanks. Great video. I've been playing with my paddle at about the 9-10 position, instead of 11. As a result, I hit a lot of 'chicken wing' shots. I'll work on that.
Great video. Planning on trying this tonight. Thank you!

I noticed when both of you speeded the game, the paddle position change from 11 o'clock position to the 10 o'clock position.
Dale Voigt yes especially because of the angle the ball is coming from and we are both hitting at each other’s body

Great video. Are you watching the ball or reacting instinctively?
interesting in pickle ball that you’d want to limit movement during volleys, as a tennis player my coach is always telling me to move my feet up at the net haha
kitanau I am with you there, played tennis my whole life and that was by far one of the hardest things for me to do
Definitely want to give this (particularly the inside-the-kitchen volley drill) a try!
Of course Simone is a great pro. But fun to see Phil. He's confident and you can tell he's a great player. Does he just coach or is he competing?
I wish I could hit the ball more than three times in a row.
She taught me everything I know😂
What the preferred grip placement here? Semi western ?
This is brilliant! #585
Hi Simone, what paddle do you use?
Sue prince response - my signature paddle
Grazie ! a ore 13 per chi è mancino Esatto?
Thank you ! at 1 pm for those who are left-handed Exactly?
Thanks
hi, thank you for your videos. could you talk in the future about how to respond when your opponent hits with a spin (especially underspin)? thank you!
cch5ng will definitely do something with that once we are able to. Thank you
Simone, with the close up drill that starts at 5:20, you should name it. Ask Chad if "Pepper" would be a good name.....
Super sized table tennis
Dope
so we don't use our wrist at all? Full arm?

Where are your eyes focused?
Seems like if your banging up close you should wear glasses

Very informative videos, but i find the repetitive melody in the background very distracting
Can I get Simone's email please??
You're videos are great! But the background music is really distracting and annoying.
Phil Hewett
Play tennis and ping pong
Yes, but you are hitting right to her.
Normal for a drill
Why in the world do we need the annoying background music? Your videos are great otherwise.
I agree. It's very annoying and an unnecessary addition to an otherwise excellent video.
wurtzi1221 sorry about that I hope the other ones have gotten better

Isn't it time to stop seeing pickleball as some version of tennis? It is simply not.

Distracting music
we need a bigger court for this guy's ego.
Great video but I wouldn’t want to watch it again because of the annoying repetitive background music which is totally unnecessary.
Very good tips and presentation
