nice unit! great tones there! i got a jasmine by takamine from a local pawnshop about a year and a half ago and had it setup by my local guitar guy.... its totally acoustic...no pickup or anything...mine has the cutout as well! love that ole girl!
Very good sound sir. I have two orange wood guitars. Only guitars I have that stay in tune for hours of playing also perfect intonation out of box. You can't do better for sub 300 dollars or even twice that much. Always inspired playing. Thanks.
Good to see you boys back with another one! I dig the guitar. It's a good looking acoustic guitar. And yeah - It would be fun to install a little pre-amp and pickup system in it, since it didn't cost a fortune. Sounded good - except maybe just a little buzz. Could be that Dano was playing it for the first time. Or perhaps just needs a little minor set-up work. But sounds very good, otherwise, and I dig it!
Thanks very much Jimmy for watching as always and for your kind comments. I think it's just because it's mahogany but I may be wrong as usual 😅. And as I already gave the guitar away a preamp isn't in its immediate future 😉👍!
Lucky it suffered no damage. Actually shocking that they would send something so carelessly packaged. Budget guitars are for some people their pride and joy...take more care please!
@@leodanryan966 Oh yes sorry I realise that! Orangewood are the ones I was referring to, not your good selves! Excellent channel BTW, recently discovered you and I like your ethics of independently reviewing guitars without being paid to do so...much more genuine approach. All the best 👍
Great job, actually love the color. The Chinese version of the Fishman dual pickup preamp would make this interesting . And affordable enough to let people around a campfire play , after some wobbly pops! That includes me.
Thanks very much Juan for watching and, I actually installed that preamp in my Squier SA-150 Classical guitar, and I think it sounds better than the Fishman "real" one. Besides the Fishman is $209. The guitar was $100. I do intend to put one in the Firefly DA01 acoustic guitar, but I decided to wait until Dan plays it just in case I accidentally screw up the job. Lol 😉👍!
@@leodanryan966 I had 2 of the copy fishman loved first it died after 2 months ,second came not working got another and been over a year no issues so far ..best wishes
I got an Orangewood Rey (Spruce) about 3 years ago. I have a lot of guitars but all of them are too expensive to take camping. The first one that arrived had a cracked top due to being abused during shipping. Orangewood support was great and replaced the guitar within a week. For the price, this is a good guitar. I has a lot of lower frequency volume but not as well defined higher frequency volume. If I play it side by side with my Taylor 814ce I can tell immediately why the Taylor cost more. That being said, the Rey is a good guitar for the price and is well made. I would buy it again.
Thanks very much, Rick, for taking the time to watch and comment on our humble video. I gave this guitar to a local talent, Jean Phillipe Rominger. He's a jazz guitarist, and he was a music teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School (Dan's almamater). Acoustic guitars will season over time, and I expect this one will, too. I hope you enjoy your Orangewood guitar 🎸 😊 👍!
Wow! My first time of seeing Dan played acoustic guitar. Dan has never failed us. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 The Orangewood Rey guitar looks good. Like #29 was from me! Happy Friday and weekend! 🌻🌼💕
What a gorgeous cutaway acoustic guitar! That's crazy it wasn't wrapped in any plastic packaging. It sounds good though, especially with the backing track! 🎸🎶😎
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind question. It's been awhile since this video, but at that time I carried a Springfield XD9 mod 2. So more than likely it was. I no longer carry it. I found it very heavy and got a Taurus G2C instead.
Thanks very much for watching, and for your kind limerick. Unfortunately 103 is a bit old for me, but let us know if you find one younger than we...I'm just sayin 😉👍!
Great run through as always. That lack of packing material had me concerned that Leo was about to un-bag some kindling.
Thanks very much for watching Russ and for your kind comments as always 😉👍!

Glad it didn't have to be added to the firewood collection. I've heard Orangewood guitars are pretty good.
Nice play through! 🙂👍👍💕

Nice grain and color. Decent gigbag is a plus. Mahogany acoustics are a bit darker in sound/tones than maple/spruce guitars.
Thanks for watching Mike and I agree with your assessment 😉👍!
