Each of the patterns has its own story, Aureliano is “Named after a character from Gabriel García Márquez’s “One Hundred Years of Solitude,” this sweater is a nod to the novel that profoundly shaped my view of reality. Aureliano, the founder of the magical town of Macondo, the most beautiful city imagined in literature, symbolizes the book’s enchanting realism. This piece captures the essence of seeing the world through a magical lens, where every detail holds a deeper meaning”. -Claudia Q.

1. Yes! I do hear my own voice in my head as I read. I also have the movie going in my head, too. I'm the exact same way!!
2. The Piña Colada sweater is amazing! It looks like it was meant to be short sleeved!
That sweater is just beautiful!!
As for reading, I am like you, I visualize the story. And then I always find mistakes!
For example, one page read “he bent down to put on his sneakers” then a few pages later “he sat on the bed to put on his sneakers” (loosely translated 😂)
I’m new to this podcast and glad I found it!
Your Pina Colada is amazing- it’s is a masterpiece! It turned out beautifully. The ease and finish look perfect.
Your Pina Colada is beautiful! You are so right about taking a step back when feeling frustrated about a project. I had that recently with a sweater where I felt trapped by some decisions I’d made earlier. Taking a little space from the project really helped me accept that I wasn’t happy with how it was going and helped me feel OK with ripping back to make sure that it would be something I’d love. Thank you for this episode! (Also for the Laine review! Love it when you do these!)
Love your podcast and your knitting choices. The Audria shawl was on my radar, and I love how yours turned out. But I must say, that Pina Colada is stunning!! The oversized style and short sleeves were definitely the way to go, and in those colors, wow! So worth any frustrations along the way. It is truly a beauty.
Your black sweater is gorgeous! Shorts sleeves looks wonderful and special kudos to all that intarsia. I cannot stand working with bobbins and am in awe of people who attempt something like that sweater. The last sweater I made using intarsia had the head of a horse in the front (for my riding crazy daughter) and I said never again, LOL!
I kinda wanted you to knit the sleeves but holding my hands up now and saying you made a great call. It’s just beautiful and such a credit to you.
Yes, I also have a movie running in my head when I read. I know because I often think people or places or events don’t look like they ‘should’ when I see later adaptations. I am also banned from telling my husband my hunches early in a series because I imagine ahead vividly, too, and often guess right where it’s going about 10 minutes in 🙊
That Pina colada is fantastic!! Beautiful!!
Your Pina Colada sweater is amazing !!!!!!!
Your Pina Colada is probably the most beautiful hand knit sweater I’ve ever seen💕it looks amazing on you…great job.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
New subscriber here, and I hope you haven’t set the bar too high with that gorgeous Piña Colada top! 😉
I appreciated your review of Laine. I feel like I often don’t look at them until the season has passed.
Pina colada is STUNNING on you!!!
The pina colada is stunning ❤
Hey, just a recommendation Addi’s are incredible and they have brass tips which have more grip they’re less slippery which would work perfectly for that project
Lauryl: that Audria shawl is absolutely gorgeous! I think I must knit it also. 😮
Love your ‘Masterpiece’ 👏👏👏👏👏
Lauryl, I really enjoy your podcasts! I listen to audio books while knitting and whether I am physically reading a book or listening to a narrated version, my brain conjures up a vivid image of the characters, the setting and the action. This makes it distracting for me to watch any movies or series made from the book. I find myself thinking, no, no, that's not what the house (landscape, people, city...) looks like!
I love your tee=shirt . Going to the website where you bought it!
Your Pina Colada sweater is amazing! I would be proud of it too! It’s gorgeous! Enjoy!
The Pina Colada is perfection! Just wow! I was one of the folks who recommended no sleeves and truly, I think this was the right decision. This sweater is a masterpiece and should be considered your magnum opus to date. 🙂
YES !!! The Pina Colada is PERFECT on you !!!
Hi Lauryl! Great knits and design choices. Love the look with your hair up! 💕
Your Pina Colada sweater is absolutely gorgeous and the colors you chose are just perfection! I love the heart idea for your children - although mine are grown, it's a great idea like you mentioned for someone who just needs to know you're thinking of them! As a side note, I read Ruth Ware also and the Woman in Cabin 10 was by far my favorite. I actually got to meet Ruth Ware while touring in the US last year - that was pretty cool. Thanks for another great podcast.
The little knitted hearts are adorable ❤
Love the sweater with short sleeves which was the option I suggested. I have Laine magazine and really like the stripes not stripes sweater. However I have a list a mile long of things I want to knit so not sure if I will ever make it.
congrats on finishing your pina colada adventure! it looks great!
Love the Piña Colada top! And if is a narrative I am reading, I occasionally hear it in my own voice - but not my actual voice - its what I wish and imagine I sounded like, but I dont IRL. Depending on what I am reading, I hear it in my head in either Samuel L. Jackson's voice, Morgan Freeman's voice, or Emma Thompson's voice. If it is a dialogue, I hear it in separate distinct voices whom I have assigned to the character. So you are not at all weird. But now anyone seeing these comments knows I AM def. weird.
Your sweater is so much nicer than the sweater in Pom Pom. The sleeve length is sooo much better than long sleeve.
I'm wondering if that beautiful sweater you are wearing would look good over a black turtleneck instead of a tank ??? Maybe a nice look for Winter or evening wear ? Try it , see what you think. It looks great on you, by the way.
That sweater is perfect without sleeves! Maybe it's the chosen yarns, but it's flattering, dressier, more glamorous, sleeves would have taken it down a notch
Agreed!!!
I do the same thing❤
I like your sweater better without the sleeves
