    Came across this video. Exactly what I needed for granddaughters birthday. Thank you for not doing triangles.

    This is one of the best buntings I have seen made, I love the shapes. I tried making one type (the single point one) and it looked a bit medieval HAHA. but this is MUUUUUCH better looking

    I should have known! My search for a bunting that is different than the usual triangle ones would result in finding your channel. Bonus that it is efficient in fabric usage. Always love that!! I am doing a reversible Christmas one with the words Merry Christmas on one side and Happy new Year on the other side.

    I have only watched 2 of your videos and I LOVE them... I learned more from you in 5 minutes, than I could have ever learn on my own from trial and error.. You make me want to get my sewing machine back out ( I haven't used it for years, coz I wasn't sure how to sew anything nice) and TRY TRY AGAIN... Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us..

      Thank you so much Mary! Please do get your sewing machine out again and don't worry if things don't come out perfectly - you should see some of the hideous messes I've made of things at times! c x

    I think I will try making each bunting piece longer and fold over the end to create a casing that I will thread a cord through. I might have to tac each one to ensure they don't bunch up. Wish me luck!

    Love how tidy it looks! I've made bunting before, but rushed it and it looked pretty sad and frayed. It really doesn't take that much work or time to make a pretty neat little bunting! Thanks! :)

      Thanks Megan, I know what you mean - rushing stuff never turns out how it should. I find it easier now to cut out fabric pieces in the evening in front of the tv and then sew them together the next day, c x

      Sorry Lynette, the web fairies aren't working this weekend to put a template up but take a piece of card 20cm by 11cm, draw a line down the centre lengthways, make a mark on this line 8cm from one end and two marks on the sides 8cm from the other end. Join these marks to make the two ends of the pennants and that should work for you, c x

    Sorry, could you use pinking shears to cut out the shapes (to avoid fraying) and not bother with the backing if the bunting is going against a wall/ the same colour on both sides of the fabric?? Just trying to save time and thread but how you made your bunting looks more durable!

    • @TheCraftsChannel
      @TheCraftsChannel  5 років тому

      Yes, course you could but it might not last more than one summer. If you back it you can pop it in the washing machine if necessary and use it for years, c x

      @@TheCraftsChannel sorry, another question - do you have to top stitch or could you just press and leave the item once it's turned inside out? Thank you...

    • @TheCraftsChannel
      @TheCraftsChannel  3 роки тому

      @@lah1667 You don't have to top stitch, pressing would be fine. I tend to top stitch so that it doesn't need so much re-pressing after it's been washed, c x
