I remember wanting this doll for Christmas when I was little (born 1983). Didn't get it, unfortunately these ballgown dolls were so expensive... But I had a lot of swimwear-Barbies, Hawaiian fun Barbie, Tropical Splash and some more. Of course I had the totally hair Barbie and Hollywood hair Teresa. Even though I'm not a collector, this era of Barbie is special to me because of nostalgia reasons. And the quality of the garments was so much better than today....
Oh yes these were the big ticket Barbie’s! And had the gowns to prove it! I wanted several holiday Barbie’s as a child, but only got one, and it was a gift for my sister and I both to share. As it was so expensive. We as you, got the cheaper swimsuit dolls with fashions. Or the occasional gimmick Barbie’s! Dolls today can’t compare With Barbie from our era. She is collector quality in today’s Mattel standards. It’s a shame kids today don’t get to experience the quality and imagination our dolls had. Toys today are almost like fast fashion. They’re easily made, and broken. And easy to replace.
I actually LOVE your vintage Barbie unboxings, especially 80’s and 90’s! I know I’ll never be able to get these dolls new in box I pretty much only am able to buy fixer-uppers, so watching your videos is such a treat! I love how you go over every detail ☺️💕
This doll is beautiful and seems well made! I don’t have any holiday Barbies in my collection. I was in college in the mid-late ‘80s so I wasn’t into Barbies at that time but I love seeing them now because they definitely remind me of that era and bring back memories, especially of the fashions, so thanks for showcasing them!😊
The queen has posted 💖 I’m so glad you decided to do this Barbie. She’s one of my absolute favorites. I actually got one for a friend of mine for Christmas. He had never seen this one before. Which I was very surprised by. Anyways, I remember when I was a kid I used to color a page that had her in it in a coloring book and I was obsessed with that page. I thought her dress was so perfect. Honestly, she’s just so fun and so camp. Literally has shine sparkles painted on her dress. That is so ridiculous and I love it.
Happy Holidays friend!!! I have to say MY personal favorite videos of yours are the ones where you simply show us your Barbies!! 👀💃🏼👯♀️ Soooooooooo I’m really looking forward to seeing more!!!!
Happy Holidays! 1996 is my absolute favourite holiday Barbie. I recently deboxed Suncharm (Western Fun) and Dream Dance (Dance Magic) Barbie I still have my original childhood dolls but it's nice to admire them in pristine condition too. Merry Christmas to you and yours 💖
😮I literally just found this doll today at goodwill. I’ve had her in my eBay cart for months. She wasn’t in the box and missing her shoes and apparently her ornament but otherwise she looks perfect. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I never had any holiday Barbie’s growing up and only had 2 Barbie’s as a kid. Hot pink aka Fuchsia has always been my favorite color so she’s my Barbie dream come true. If I’d seen this back in the day I would have begged my mom for her. I think my mom left us kids at home when she went to Kmart and other places so we didn’t know about all the cool dolls and toys that were out bc I had no idea this Barbie existed until this year. I was lucky I even had my peaches n cream Barbie back then😂
This is the Barbie that started my collecting journey, I saw her at an antique shop and I needed her at the ripe age of 14 lol 😂. But I didn’t care I loved her all pink gown!! But yeah the 1989 holiday Barbie also comes with a plastic ornament.
Hi there! I'm a new subscriber to this channel. She is so goregous 🤩💖 Honestly one of the most beautiful Holiday Barbie dolls that I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing her and the booklet that came with her. The Dance Magic Barbie in the booklet is actually what I just bought off of Ebay for myself for Christmas. I'm so excited to get her. I've always wanted her.😁
The first holiday Barbie I bought was the 1989 version, and to this day she is my favorite of the entire line. For the next few years, I bought the holiday dolls as they came out, but the 1989 doll is the only one that has survived all my collection purges over the years. Of course she is deboxed and displayed. I remember having the doll in this video, and I liked the doll itself, but I remember wishing the dress was a less neon pink, more of a cerise color. The cut of the dress is wonderful, it's only the color of the fabric that I didn't like. These dolls are quite charming, and I do still have an example of this doll that I got nude that I have redressed. Early 90s holiday dolls really have to be deboxed to be enjoyed in my opinion, and they are great for redressing in fashions of the era.
Granted I'm not a collector per se , I only have a few Barbie dolls , but I have absolutely no interest in the sixties ones . I only like the Barbies from the late 80's to the year 1996 . So this one is right up my alley . Thank you for the review .
My cousin got that mansion from her "weekend Dad" for Christmas 1990. She smashed it a couple years later when they were fighting and it got tossed. I still cringe a little remembering that. Anyways, hang in there! And have a Merry Christmas!
This barbie is gorgeous in pink 😍! Part of me wonder if the hot pink poofy sparkly dress barbie wore in barbie a fashion fairytale is inspired by this doll 💖
YES, I need to get back into Barbie mode, thanks! Quick question...when you redid the bubblecut heads into swirl ponytails, did you use all the holes or did you follow the swirltail hair / holes on the real swirltail ? I want to remake an old bubblecut that is missing alot of hair over the holidaze....
i made a Giant mistake subscribing to you , your a terrible influence ... totally went to ebay and bought ths exact doll after finishing ur video haha this is the first time ive ever been influnced lol shes amazing i just had 2
