Thank you for the review. I like this “scale-like” FPV plane. Having tricycle landing gear to do nose high greaser landings and “optically clear” canopy makes it the first AtomRC plane I’d consider buying. FYI “white whale” - 白鯨 is the Chinese literal translation of Beluga.
This was an immediate must-buy - as in I've already pre-ordered it! No thank you on the wheels and I'm totally going to put the camera in the nose anyway. AtomRC do make an excellent pan/tilt module though that I've used for other planes.
Fantastic looking airplane, Lee! Thanks for the unboxing and overview! 😃 And I guess I know someone who is going to love it! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hmm I quite like this. Thanks for the video Lee. I have a dolphin and swordfish but it’s nice to see something that looks like a proper scale plane. Will definitely be added to the list I think. 👍🏻
I love it. Hi Lee, Great video and review of the AtomRC Beluga. This is what I'm used to fly line of sight. I would definitely love to use a pan & tilt system in. I would love to order one, but unfortunately I don't have a good spot to fly it at. Thanks for the unboxing video, Happy Flying
Man its like atomrc are following my taste. I started with multirotors then got into fpv wings. Love the versatility of the penguin. Now I'm into LOS fixed wing. Can't wait for a flight review
Pretty ambitious for sure. Looks like it could rule the skies. I’ll say those retracts for 10 bucks look better than what you get on a $400 Warbird but not really needed here. I’m already starving for channels at 12. Curious if it’ll fly on 4S. All that said I’ll order one when shipping from US. Thanks been waiting for you to get your hands on this!
Thank you Lee! Great unboxing as usual. Answered a lot of questions I had. Do you think that 6S is compulsory on this model or could it manage with 4s battery packs?
Flying a fixed wing FPV is a very different experience. The closest you get to the feeling of flying for many. Check out ua-cam.com/video/VCqJCU2I_YQ/v-deo.html
It's look a very well made model, AtomRC as great at quality. For me I would be removing the wing tip 'rails' and the ugly bulbs on the tail surfaces. Flatten out the top to remove the obstructions to view for a decent pan and tilt. fill in, smooth and laminate the underside for decent belly landings. The flaps and the large wing area would make for a decent battery load.
Looks great. Wonder how cg is affected wheels up vs down. I think flaps would help that situation. Interested in what the stall speed will be although there is alot of wing area and it is a flat bottom air foil. Anyway the maiden flight and flap setup will be interesting.
Very cool looking kit. When u do an inav build could you make sure u go over how to set up flaps in inav. Also how to program down elevator in when flaps are activated while using inav.
Thanks for the video, I've been waiting for it. When I get the plane I will apply a sick paint job on it, do you guys recommend to also apply some kind of coating to increase the strength of the foam? It would be sad if something breaks on a hard landing
I've been looking for a new plane to use for FPV and I think this might tick the boxes with that landing gear. 7x4x3 props might make it slower than I am wanting though to keep up with the LOS planes at the field. Probably have to swap props out to a 5 or 6 pitch if current draw allows. May try a 3-4,000 mAh Li Ion pack too.
I love the idea of in-canopy fpv. Having a gimbal slapped on top open to the air just seems wrong to me. but i do prefer the looks of the other atomrc models. It will be very interesting to know how this flies compared to the rest of the range.
Its big but not half as ugly as I expected - not keen on bays with stuff underneath (like the Swordfish) but first impressions pretty good - I think it will sell well
Good afternoon Sir. Is there any way that when you set this thing up you use the O4 Air Unit? I really want to see how the O4 and retractable gear work in INAV.
Imagine plugging an Arduino/ESP32/Pi microcontroller with a small OLED screen that can hook up to the flight controller and provide live virtual instrumentation.
Depending on how close the FPV camera is to the OLED screen, the display would likely be out of focus. An actual HUD with infinity focus would be better😉
I wish these companies would stop allowing other people/companies buying more than one at a time. For the first 6 months they should only send a maximum of one to any address. Bring an end to the flippers. Disgusting
It's a lot bigger than I expected!
That's what my missus said....
Yes it is Sara.
My next airframe for sure. Keep the FPV friendly features coming!!

It's almost as though they've taken all the modifications I've made to my Swordfish and applied it to a new model. Its fantastic!

Thanks for the unboxing.
Currently available and ordered from AliExpress. Inexpensive for what you get. 🇭🇲
Thanks Lee. That definitely looks interesting. There are some things I don’t like. But I think the draw of in-canopy FPV will still make me get one 😂
Nice plane and as always, nice vid!
Oh wow. This thing looks fantastic. Can’t wait for the flight video. 😊
WOW that thing is huge!!
thank you very much for the detailed video 👍
I love that plane ! It will hang from my ceiling some day 😊 it sure looks like an AMX Ghibli!
Square opening on bottom of fuselage may be for buzzer or lidar.
Looks like the place you put the steering servo for the front landing gear.

very cool and looks very scale in terms of realism, looking forward to see how it flies

I’ve never built or flown an rc plane, only multi-rotors, but I do like the looks of that one. Definitely want to see you build/fly this one. Thanks!

For your first wing id suggest something less expensive and easier to fly to get used to flying first. S800 or something like that to begin with.
@ Oh I wasn’t going to buy one to learn. Certainly way too expensive. It just made me a little more interested in one.

Very nice. Hard to argue with the price, but I'll wait for the flight review.

I wonder if the walksnail GM2 or GM3 could fit on that canopy.
Might be great for head tracking from the cockpit
I was just about to order one of these from china, but now I think I'm going to wait for the full RTH version.

Very very Nice kit, waiting for the building video. Thanks for the giveaway 😂😂😂😂😂
danggg,,, crazy huge...

I have the AtomRC Killer Whale with Tallyho head tracker and Walksnail Avatar HD FPV. It flies like a butterfly.

I like it
I still have my wing i won from you but not even flown it.the kids are more used to kwads now lol.great as allway
Come on, get into gear and fly it! 😂
Good afternoon Sir. Is there any way that when you set this thing up you use the O4 Air Unit? I really want to see how the O4 and retractable gear work in INAV.
can you check please the connection between the fuselage parts? My Beluga has litte play if both parts screws tighter, so I will glue them together.
Do you know if you can get the landing gear separately? Currently only available from china and shipping is 80 bucks
If they do, it'll be on the AtomRC website... Everyone over in China is on holidayt so I can't ask..
Do you know if the Kit version comes with the connections in the wings?
I've only had this version here... Happy flying
AtomRC is the new Zohd.
It is pretty big isn't it ?
I seen it pop up on ali and disappeared a few days later.
According to Google Translate: white whale --> 白鯨 and in reverse 白鯨 --> beluga whale.
So I guess both terms are correct!
Yikes bury the GPS Batman
It's only foam.

I was considering the same thing. A little I2C OLED display would fit perfectly there
Don't need it we have telemetry in OSD.
People have done this already and it can be read/used but it mostly just looks cool .
I am aware of this Cinemoriah.
...😜👌

It’s fat. Would love if you built a Stallion VTOL or Tallon
