Yes, 2 door would be normal to the culture of the el camino, but just put it on the SS model, the standard one can be 4 door.
Chevy Should Resurrect The Malibu SS Coupe with A Small Block 327.
"Should" is what we'd like under ideal circumstances. Reality is there's only a niche market for something like that, so to make it profitable, the car would have to be outrageously priced which in turn would limit it more. They know that, and it will not be produced. I've seen a '35 Malibu coupe here on YT that's a faithful re-creation to the 1970 model from the front and back, but using the existing Camaro body. It was a forest green. But no, it'll never be produced, so enjoy the pictures.

My zippy 1981 El Camino Conquista, in silver and midnight blue, with navy interior, had a small V8 (267), and an automatic transmission. It had a bed, which I measured at 79.5", that would be much longer than what they are offering on the new version. You could easily lie down in the bed which we did to star gaze. In addition, it had an air shock system that would adjust the bed to the load. It was easy to park, and drove like a dream, especially on long road trips. It hauled many a load, and I miss the versatility of it. Lost it to a tornado in 1992.

I think it's great if the El Camino makes a comeback , But from what I heard in 2023 it was going to be a newer version of the legendary iconic 1970 El Camino , In this video the front of the El Camino looks like it has a twist of the newer Camaro & Newer Pickup that's already out , I believe there would be more sales if it had the looks of the 1970. El Camino.
You will have better luck making your own outta a Malibu or Camaro. It's doubtful they will even make this.

I’m seeing to many variations of the vehicle. 2 door, 4 door, 2 1/2 door. With the SS coming in at 43K, I worry about Dealer Markup that would make it way out of reach for the average person to own. Guess, Time will Tell

They turned an American Ute (car with bed) into just another truck...ugh. If nothing else, since the they just go rid of the Camaro, why not just take that body, cut a bed out of it and call it the new El Camino. It would pay more homage to the original than turning it into just another damn truck.

Lets hope they make a body style that can be adapted to different drive trains. 4-6-8- cylinder 2 wheel drive or all wheel drive with 4-5-9 speed as well as a manual transmission option with a look of the El Camino , Camaro or any other look as long as it does not look like PICK UP TRUCK to maybe small truck look for the 4x4 is of no concern as long as they make a car front end look as well would make nice sales. If G.M. wants to make them electric then fine and we will see if that sales or not. just please make the products look different instead of the one size fits all and you can not tell the difference even between brands like pick up trucks of different trim levels the only difference. They will sell well like before but customers want at times different plastic chrome for options alone.

It needs more horsepower…. If I could build my own … it would have a hellcat drive train or scat pack … or the zo6 drive train… with 4x4 not the all wheel drive… you need just 2 wheel drive most of the time… less wear on the 4x4 system that way…

The original Ford ranchero's, and the Chevy El Camino's were ALL 2 door vehicles. IF there is to be a sort of 'reissue' of this class/type of vehicles, in my way of thinking, they should be brought out first as 2 doors. For my wife and I would only buy a 2 door reissue. If somebody wants or needs a four door vehicle with a small bed, take your pick of the compacts that are out, and the others that will be out soon. But something tells me the automotive brain trusts will find a way to turn them all into 4 door weenie mobiles...

Talk, Talk, Talk and a bunch of old pictures. The few images of what you are reporting will be the new model are absolutely horrendous. Looks like some cannabis influenced millennial engineer's creation of a concept car that will hopefully never see production. This type of thinking will ultimately sink GM. I imagine this proposed vehicle would be priced similarly to the Tahoe or Yukon. For a lot less you could purchase a real El Camino and do a complete resto-mod.
