Thanks for the update. You have confirmed what my expectations of this radio are. The radio strikes me as outstanding. Some have complained about the old cabinet design, but I like it. My only negative comment about the cabinet design, and it's a minor one is that it looks like the signal meter is still set a bit too far back to read accurately just as the S-2000 signal meter was... you've got to make an effort to look at it at the right angle to read it accurately. Again, if priced at the $350 US dollar range I'll have one on my desk when as soon as its available from Anon Co.
One thing it keeps puzzling me is the lack of RDS on tecsun radios. Btw: Dan your reviews and overall content really needs better video quality. It’s below par when compare to your wisdom and good taste in all radio things. Please don’t take this the wrong way. Get better cameras. Thanks for the continued content. Resgards and 73s
BNC antenna jacks? No soft mute between tuning steps, said someone? Sounds great! I've been eyeing the PL-990X, but maybe this one instead...because BNC antenna jacks. Easier to find PL259 to BNC than PL259 to 3.5mm audio. Huge reason I lost interest in the Raddy 919 was that @#$%!!!!Ing soft mute.
UPDATE: HIDDEN FEATURES With the test unit sent to me by Anon-co is a sheet listing HIDDEN FEATURES. And at least so far, there are only four: MAX VOLUME LEVEL, CALIBRATE MW/SW, CALIBRATE USB/LSB, and SWITCH BETWEEN INTERNAL FERRITE ROD TO WHIP ON AM (MW & LW). It is interesting that there are separate recalibration procedures for MW/SW and USB/LSB.
No soft muting, Dan? Also it's worth noting that the rotatable AM loop antenna goes way back to the old Panasonic RF2200 which also had it and it worked very well for what it was
A few things that annoys me with my Tecsun 2200x is this. The signal meter is about one second slow. The other thing is soft muting while tuning on FM and air band.

Thanks, very interesting, having had the
Eton 750 in the past, and the H501X for
some time. 😊
Thanks for this Dan. I use the similar rotatable aerial on my RF2200 and find it useful. It is good to see that TECSUN has continued this too. 73s
Thank you Dan for your review of this radio. Very informative and useful.
Thanks Dan for the update!
Have a great day! 73!
Cool.Look forward to more testing.

I love the qodosen SR-286. Best SW reception
