The next match is a real challenge for Iga. Many people say that Rybakina's not good on clay, but I think she's a good offensive player. I hope Iga will not play rushedly and defensively but use Ryba's own weapons: huge first serves, flat winners, on-the-baseline returns, stretching the opponent all around the court, and finding the deadliest corners. As a fan, I can't be confident of how Iga misses so many first serves and returns the ball back to where the opponent stands, 'cause Rybakina will just manipulate it easily. But I always believe that Iga will be able to use her best tennis with a great mentality to get this done!
Let's go, Iga! I'm rooting for you!!

That’s what I say all of the time she’s made the QF of the French a couple years ago and with her style of game I think she is good on any surface I just think she has to made a few extra adjustments on clay like not hitting so flat and it can take awhile to adjust maybe that’s why she’s been struggling a bit

Iga was cheated-for most of 2022 giving her all the confidence and motivation needed to keep winning. Until the @WTA @ITF AND others look into the top 60 players' bank transactions, phone records (payphones, too) & all internet access as of 2022, Bribes were likely happening for her to win, rich white people paying off the lesser seeds to lose to her. This LIKELY happened and continues to, no facts, but UNTIL those powers look into it, including the in the ATP and their top 60 players due to Novaq, I will stand correct.

Competitive match like the San Diego Open final last year. Iga steps it up in the biggest moments, though, and prevails. I think she'll need to be stronger tomorrow against Rybakina to win. Should be a great match.

Drop shots feel cheap. Seemed to be used out of desparation. They should be limited per player, per match.

Definitely an immaculate performance from Iga Swiatek. She proves how she is far more robust, relentless and valiant than the other competitors on the clay court surface. It is never easy to contend against Iga on any clay court showdown. She is absolute favorite player.
your opinion clearly comes from watching the match highlights. If you saw the whole match, you would know that Iga played one of the worst matches this year and with such play she ends the tournament tomorrow...

Iga is a good player; just a bit better than the clumsy rest. Rybakina is a bundle of shaky mind. 4 men at her box waiting for money. Iga with a psychiatrist? Ostapenco a wild woman. Sabalenka and her washed up hockey player. Where is the finesse an elegant beauty of tennis. Men’s are a bunch of savages .

Jutro musi być mimo wszystko lepsza gra, bo dzisiaj mecz średni w wykonaniu Polki. Na szczęście Chorwatka nie potrafiła tego do końca wykorzystać. No ale lepiej wygrać średnio, niż przegrać ładnie.

Actually these players have nothing to lose.. they can just come out and try their luck. unfortunately that "luck" eluded Donna..v competitive match..So Congrats IGA...
Unlike most Iga opponents, Vekic is a worthy opponent. One of the few people to take a set from Iga in 2022.
Well, I would say Iga plays many "worthy opponents". She plays top 10, top 20 all the time.

@@lyd2460And Henin's tennis was sooo easy on the eyes too. She was as quick as Iga, but she moved through the court like a ballerina, her strokes so so smooth.

They would work against someone tall like Rybakina, I think, but unless you use them in a match or in practice, often, they are very risky to just turn on.

Amazing dropshots from Vekic! I'm Pole so fortunately for me they were not enough for Iga, but I realy admire Donna. I think she just needs more stamina to get to the top 10.

Vekic served well and play aggressively at second set, but she dropped the concentration at the 9th game and overhit when Iga serve for match.

Actually, the forecast recipe is very simple: if Ryba does not make too many mistakes, she will win even on clay. There is no reception against Thor's hammer. Little depends on Iga here, the Ryba will play with itself tomorrow. 💪
There is another option - when Iga sees Rybakina and loses to her before the start of the match. As it was already in the last meeting. Then it will be immediately visible by the score 0-3, 1-4 etc. Rybakina is not one of those who lets go of her victim.
In their last match Iga was injured. That's why she withdrew from Miami

Rybakina è un buon giocatore ed inoltre riceverà un handycap grande sotto forma di un resto più lungo. Lunedì ha giocato solo 7 giochi perché Kalinskaya si e' infortunata, e poi una partita facile con Vondrousova. Quindi è ben riposata. Swiatek giocherà giorno dopo giorno e sarà molto più stanco. Potrebbe essere il fattore decisivo per vincere.

Jutro z Rybakiną taki % 1szego serwisu i poziom niewymuszonych, jak dziś, może już nie wystarczyć. 75+% pierwszego podania w grze i przynajmniej tyle samo po nim punktów + solidny % punktów po drugim, bo Elena będzie kąsać kończącymi returnami bez względu na to, czy Iga jest "Queen of clay", czy nie. Jeśli doda do tego swoje nominalne atuty i pogoni Rybakinę po korcie, to będzie dobrze. Rybakina, w odróżnieniu od Świątek, nie jest tak skora do biegania za każdą piłką, kiedy jest rozrzucona po flankach i często odpuszcza.

That was a weird match. Vekic seemed to be in some sort of pain from the beginning. She tried not to show it but sadly it showed. Iga on the other hand, towards the end of the first set, played quite possibly one of her worst games in years (the last time I've seen her play this bad was in a WTA Finals against Sabalenka, they were both unbelievably bad in that game). All together a game to forget and get back in form.

Vekic was never a threat, Swiatek played so so and was able to secure the victory, Rybakina's gonna be way tougher to beat, I watched her prvious match and for the large swathes of time she was just slaughtering Vondrousova, she serves very well, has aggressive mindset, plays fast flat balls and mixes it up well, I didn't see anything even close that would confirm the statement "she is not that good on clay". IMHO, Rybakina will beat Swiatek tomorrow if Swiatek serve remains shaky and if she does not cut the number of her mistakes. She has to mix it up a little bit, her game's become rather one-dimensional
Buen partido de la siempre elegante y competitiva Donna Vekic que supo plantarle cara a la número uno a la que ahora le espera Rybakina. Pero en esta ocasión a la kazaja nacida en Moscú la veo con pocas opciones, por no decir ninguna. Pero al final esta es una de las grandezas del tenis e influyen tantos factores que nunca se sabe. Lo que sí sé es que se avecinan unos cuartos y semifinales apasionantes y muy abiertos sobre todo por la parte baja del cuadro.

Iga needs to go for her shots with Rybakina and not middle the shots, specially use the topspin forehand down the line.
That serve is a must work else she is gonna lose again.

I always try to predict the margin Iga will win by. I predicted 1 and 2 for this match. I usually just go to the end of the vid because her matches are boring but she is definitely ruthless and too good for the rest currently.

Iga uprościła swoją grę (za namową trenera), aby wdrożyć nową, agresywną taktykę i niejako zaprogramować ją w podświadomości. Wszystko po to, aby pewne wzorce zachowań były odruchem, a nie wynikiem kalkulacji. W 2021 i wcześniej Iga grała różnie, często dość pasywnie, co wykorzystywały topowe zawodniczki. Ale to się skończyło, gdy to Iga przejęła inicjatywę, gdy to Iga zaczęła wygrywać seryjnie - obecnie ma znakomity wskaźnik zwycięstw vs. top 10, z tego, co pamiętam w okolicach 70%.
