As an adhd sims builder and hobbyst writer, I'm so proud of you for finishing not ONE, but MULTIPLE BOOKS!! That's amazing! I get the creative block and I struggle so much to finish stuff, the executive dysfunctional is my nemesis, so I'm so happy for you!

When it wears off, but I still want to engage with a hobby, it's as if I now hate it. So discombobulating and then the executive dysfunction kicks in where I can't engage with anything in the midst of burnout even though I desperately want to.
I have ADHD too. It's such a pain, and I find the sims is one of the things I can focus on. I would like to start and finish a legacy challenge because I am always dissatisfied in some way with the save, delete it, and start again. Congrats on your book! That's has always been a dream of mine, and I can never focus enough.

this is a random comment, but i used to watch you all the time a few years ago when i was really into the sims. getting back into it recently i was trying to find your channel for months but couldn't remember your name, and this video just popped up in my feed today!! so happy
YES. I'm often angry with myself for being unable to do what I was doing during my hyperfixation, yet the more I try, the more drained I feel. Then, I feel like I hate the things I'm trying to do even though I have a compulsion to try and do them because they previously gave me HUGE kicks of dopamine. It's infuriating 😭
Omg I love this build and also I have ADHD as well . The struggle is real. Even with medication, I take Vyvanse and I still drink one cup of coffee or a soda, ADHD is exhausting. If it helps I couldn't tell you that you have it based on your videos. I can normally tell when people have it. I have a Sims youtube channel as well and sometimes I worry about it showing in my videos , sometimes I get distracted lol keep up the good work 👏 ❤

Gah, I can totally relate to the burn out! I haven't posted a video since last September and I'm starting to finally feel the itch to jump back in but I'm not sure I can keep everything balanced. I think it the video editing process - it just drains me. Love the build - super cosy. :)

@@MissSimReno Yup, I know exactly that feeling, coupled with instances where I (in theory) want to do something but at the same time completely lack any motivation or inspiration to do it and I get stuck in this want to/don't want to limbo and it's absolutely awful. Been having that same problem with my own channel but been brainstorming some ideas recently for how to change up builds and videos to hopefully be less burdensome on the editing so we'll see. Haven't actually tried any of those ideas yet but at least with the new EP coming out, I'm finding some inspiration for build ideas...which of course my brain decided to plan out (and do the voice-over for) at 4.00 in the freakin' morning. 😒 Love that for me.

Burnout is such an awful thing to deal with. But the only way to deal with it is to put yourself first.
