Omg this house is just perfect for my legacy play!! My current sims are married. The storyline is that they have been married for 8 years and were struggling to have kids even with IVF so they ended up adopting a child. Soon after adoption they decided to try IVF one more time and now my sim is pregnant with triplets so they decided to move to a bigger house and this retro house is suitable for them!! ♥️
Your builds always have a level of authenticity I feel other builders (no disrespect) miss because they prioritize things looking pretty before realistic and I think you achieve more of a balance that is authentic to real life
yes!!! she is one of the only builders ive seen who actually uses the "run down" build choices somewhat regularly. i definitely appreciate both sides of building in sims but i think i prefer the realism :)
I love it!! Interior design (especially the bedrooms) kind of give me a 80s timeline. Like parents bought the house back in the late 60s , started their family & now currently we are in the 80s :) super cool!
You should do a multi home lot for giant property in Del Sol Valley, each homes in this style. I always love your dated or grungy builds. Maybe build a grungy restaurant for copperdale? Like a teen hangout similar to Pops choc lit shop in riverdale
A younger friend at work bought her first home with her husband this past year and in researching the history discovered it was built in the 40’s. While the appliances and services have been updated to codes, she has been focusing on hitting up antique sales and the like to furnish it as true to it’s origin as possible and having absolute fun in the process!
I was raised by a grandparent, in a house she bought with her husband in the 60s. imagine having a rotary phone and a computer in one room. imagine a wood burning stove and outhouse, but also wifi and tivo. imagine FINALLY painting over the paneling and realizing nobody else's living room looks like it's from 1985 in 2005, and that people don't typically paint over paneling. this build reminded me of the silliness of all that, like it really was comical, sometimes my friends would come over "just to find out what decade we're vibing with this month"
I LOVE THIS HOUSE! You made it so realistic and done of the things you brought up, like mirrors attached to dressers & the same pieces (like the lamps and dressers) used throughout the house really hit home for me as a 90’s baby. For me growing up my mom inherited a bunch of furniture from her grandmother so she had a matching set of 3 similar, but slightly different, style side tables, a desk, and a dresser + headboard. The dresser, headboard & 1 side table is in her room while the other 2 side tables are in the living room. The dining room furniture hasn’t changed since she bought the house, only the fabric covering the seat cushions has & some accent decor. However, the pièce de résistance is the grandfather clock that was in every apartment/house I’ve ever lived in, as well as, these 2 cushioned rocking chairs (they started out blue but have been reupholstered one & are now Hunter green). I know that was a long spiel but I just find it interesting how some furniture pieces just stick with you throughout your life growing up and even in some cases into your adulthood!
Outdated homes are always my favourite to play in because they feel so realistic. I think this is my favourite build that you have done! Can't wait to place it in my game!
I love this house so much. The green and orange with the retro vibe 😂really reminds me of thanksgiving with my grandparents from with I was a kid. Definitely one of my favorite family home builds
oh man, i'm also a 90s kid and i gotta echo what i'm seeing in other comments - this made me feel *so* nostalgic. that bedroom with the records on the wall reminded me so much of my brother's old room, especially with that phone (such a big deal to have a phone in your room in the 90s!). even just the layout of the house, walking in and having the bathroom divide the house like that. this just felt so realistic and homey. i feel like i've been inside this house many times in my life haha
I’ve been saving this video until I had time to sit down and watch because I was so excited! It feels so real. My house is dated like this! It’s a mid-century house that hadn’t been updated much, it was bought by a contractor in the mid-2000’s to split the lot and build a newer home and he used the original home as a rental - so he put in 90’s refrigerator and dishwasher and dryer, painted the pink tub white, put in beige carpet, painted all the wood paneling a pukey baby poo beige (yes I know, it irritates me every time I think of it and it’s a textured paneling so there’s not an easy way to sand it and restore it to a stain either) and just left it. When we bought it and moved in the clothes washer was the original 60’s one. We are leaning into the mid-century esthetic as we slowly work on the house, so we got an old rotary phone and hung it with a phone shelf in the kitchen, and plugged it into a Bluetooth gateway so we can connect the rotary phone to our cell phones.
also love when you do builds with lots of bedrooms. i love how realistic your builds are, i love playing family GP in sims so i love having big homes for my legacies
I would love to see you do a video where you build a generic house, but then each video following that is you updating that house for a different decade!
I live in Iowa and I have definitely seen a hhouse's exterior just like this one except the paneling on the irl home is white not green 😊💖 13:07 BTW the living room TV trick is really cool and pretty clever imo! 🥰🎉
I love this house so much! I grew up in the 90s in a house where my parents inherited a lot of furniture from their parents so my childhood home was like a mix of 90s and 70s furniture.
lmao i absolutely love this house! and it’s timelessness! You building it backwards from the cut-de-sac…mm definitely made me scream on the inside lol i wanted to turn it around the whole time 😂😂😂
The for-rent pack has revived my interest in del sol valley, planning on playing there once I’ve played with a family in copperdale, and then another in moonwood mill, and then another in -
One of my favorite things about the rodents from My First Pet Stuff is that if you have a child-aged sim they can do the interaction "Study Rodent" and it counts as their homework as well as building creative skill.
I was about to requesting a modern house with a pool because i was saying to myself that i never saw you building with a house with a pool before 😂 and yet here we are 🤣 there's pool!
@@Gryphi Oh ok slay I love those houses so much they are gorgeous!! - have you thought about doing a nashville/southern type of home?? I'm currently in love with that style !!
I grew up in the 90s and you captured the vibes PERFECTLY. The kitchen cabinets, tile, the brown trim on the walls. It looks so much like my childhood home. Love this!
Oh, wow, does this bring back memories. Yeah, most homes like this were split levels with a landing at the front door and stairs up and down. The emphasis on personality for the kids' rooms, the slightly newer appliances in the older kitchen, the backyard layout, etc. It was very much the houses my friends lived in circa mid-70s to early 80s. Your builds are amazing!
im not gone lie i don’t like the colors or decorations. but i like the way the house is built. it doesn’t look comfy or fun to play with. the bathrooms could use more fun clutter as well. the house is too basic. overall it has great outside build.

This build gives me such lates 80s early 90s sitcom house vibes! Love it!

I have had an OBSESSION with retro homes lately and the fact that you uploaded a video on one has made my day!! love your builds gryphi!!!!
Yay! Thank you!
this house is giving off the stranger things 80’s vibes so much omg
This build reminds me of a house you’d see in a 90s sitcom
As a 90s kid this build was so relatable and felt very nostalgic ❤
The garage door 🤯🤯

That first teen bedroom is what I dreamed about my bedroom looking like as a little girl, lol
The children are a horse girl and the brother that catches bugs 😂 I love it

Stop I love this so unexpectedly. It’s rly relatable this type of home is pretty common in the suburbs.
I love this build! It makes me feel like the parents own a furniture store and that’s how they were able to get all the matching furniture ❤😂
I love a retro build because it feels so familiar
I live in Iowa and I have definitely seen a hhouse's exterior just like this one except the paneling on the irl home is white not green 😊💖 13:07 BTW the living room TV trick is really cool and pretty clever imo! 🥰🎉
I love all the bedrooms in this!! So fun to see the teen's personalities shine especially ❤❤
I love this house so much! Retro stuff is so cute. I'd love to see you build an 80s house, sort of Memphis Group inspired
This house is perfect! The built in mirrors on the dressers are so accurate!

So these people don’t have dogs but they do have leashes huhh?😏
I forgot to add the other dog stuff haha
Or could you make a home with 12+ sims in a small house, it doesn’t have to be less then 100 tiles but just looks small and full
I grew up in the 90s and you captured the vibes PERFECTLY. The kitchen cabinets, tile, the brown trim on the walls. It looks so much like my childhood home. Love this!
WOW
I know it’s very unrealistic but could you make a 14 sim home.
The house is cute, but you actually built it facing the back of the lot not the front lol
I know! I did that for the lighting. I uploaded it to the gallery facing the correct way.
This is such a good build! It was super fun to watch too. I enjoyed the detail you went into with the bedrooms :)

Can you build a Puerto Rican house
