If you have a hold of it you can just tip it to it's side and it will shut off. Supposed to anyway. As far as why it went up when it did it's because it saw the surface and lifted to avoid hitting it
Not sure how well the little mavic can handle it but I saw someone that attached a gopro glue on mount to the bottom of the drone. Then a floating handle to that. They use it to catch it on return and it's there to possibly aid in retrieving in a water crash. seemed like a good idea to me.... I haven't flown mine over water yet but plan to test this out on mine. Oh also if I grab mine and flip it upside down the rotors instantly stop. It's way faster then the sticks down shutdown. Great video man! 👍
you're very talented in drone flight :) ha ha oh no! prickly pear!! that's terrible!! (i live in tuscon so i know about prickly pear needles) 👍 on retrieving it!
man, my drone is a budget one, so it doesn't have any obstacle avoidance and other cool features that many have, so im scared flying it here, on land, in the desert, with no trees around. doing it from a sail boat would be full blown panic mode lol
A wild and crazy guy! Highly entertaining and I'm impressed, having tried it in MUCH lower winds
Thanks bro! Nice tips and sorry for your lost
It happens!
I guess that light from drone really saved it,that drone doesn't look cheap!
It completely did! $$$ :)
Hahahaha - the last shot of the crash was the perfect ending!
Right!
I bet it was a great relief when you finally found it.
I was thrilled!
Happy you found the drone. I think its super difficult land on my moving sailing boat, and always scary.
Me to! Too bad I lost the other one I had.... :(
Always enjoyed your video thank you
Glad to hear!
Well done! Thanks for this video.
Glad you liked it!

If you do that it will go crazy and try to save itself.
@@Adventureman_Dan interesting. Mine that I have have turned off

I assume you disable any collision avoidance you have on the drone to land?
Yes I do.
Skills!
Thanks!

It's better for this not to have any obstacle sensors.
@@Adventureman_Dan makes sense. so it doesn't try to avoid your hand and cause problems when you go to grab it
