The Matrix is a brilliant film and I like how it can be watched as a sci-fi action film or it can be appreciated for its many layers, its philosophical and metaphorical references. It is better than most films made in recent years.
A few other things to think about from the Matrix: 1. Regarding reality-you can read the book "The Holographic universe". 2. The names of the main characters-Neo(New), Trinity( The Holy Christian-The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit), Morpheus (the God of sleep and dreams), The Nebuchadnezzar (babylonian king), Zion (as Jerusalem from the Bible), The Key maker (the key to knowledge), The Oracle (the Oracle from Delphi), The Architect (The Masonic Architect). 3. Do you remember the scene, when Neo was climbing the stairs to meet Morpheus? Take a look at the tiles on the floor and their order. They are black and white and in checkmate order, exatly like the ones in a masonic temple. And they are climbing the stairs to meet Morpheus, who will open Neo's eyes to the truth. That's a reference to climbing to the 33 degree in masonry, when the truth is presented to you.
Mister No Life I remembered something else. Check the scene when Smith interrogates Neo and goes through some papers in a folder which are supposedly evidences against Neo. On one of the papers is a copy of Neo‘s ID card. If you pause this moment, make a picture and invert it, you will see that Neo‘s ID card expires on 11 SEP/01. The movie was released in 1999!
I feel like Neo and Trinity don’t really need chemistry because they’re prophesied characters, they’ve got this kind of wild yet reserved mysticism about them, like they know ineffable things that the rest of the characters don’t. I feel like this characterization allows them to be sort of cold and distant because Neo is sort of almost god-like to everyone. This characterization of Trinity isn’t anywhere near as strong in the sequels but I feel their character choices in this movie are justified.
5:23 - "It is not the spoon that bends... it is only yourself" - Most people don't get this. This means that Neo bends to see the truth... it is Neo that changes, not the spoon...
I like it, but I disagree on the love story part. Although I think it requires you to go past the first movie because in a strange way, Trinity chooses to love Neo, which causes him to become The One. Trinity clearly resists falling in love with him, although she does adopt a stalkerish behavior towards Neo especially his hacker identity. I think the chemistry isn't there because Trinity actively resists it because she wants to test the Oracle's prophecy. Trinity loves Neo because of his act of self sacrifice to save Morpheus. Imagine someone saves your family from immanent death. Although maybe not a romantic love, a door is opened to have a love of that person.
You opened my mind to the fact that they are dreaming, not on a pure computer program. I forgot about that very important detail all these years. Amazing, my friend, thank you.
I've been thinking about the Matrix a lot lately. Something that I thought is that the internet and social media is kimd of like the Matrix, but in a way similar to the scene with the woman in the red dress. Morpheus Tells Neo that they must go into the Matrix for missionsb and that the people are the very people they must save. While at the samw time not to trust them because they could be agents. (There are so many bots and AIs thst oretend to be humans online, and I only expect it to get worse) Morpheus also mentions not to be distracted by the woman in the red dress. This is a parallel to amy distraction we encounter when going online.
The Matrix is one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time. It really identifies and analyzes the boundaries of perception and perspective between reality and fiction. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, special effects, images, direction, and cinematography was spectacular and phenomenal. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍
I rewatched after ten years and for the first time in my I actually loved the movie . And I disagree about the lighting in the first action scene not being great it’s master class
it's been a long day for the last couple years but we don't know what we can see each other's in our world but it's like we can only be together for a few minutes to do that we can get a little more fun on this and it is a great opportunity and I can get a lot and some people who do it will not last for you
How do Neo and Trinity have nothing in common? Lol. It was through her faith that he realized he was the one. and she was helping Morpheus find him/have faith so I disagree
What did you just explain? I thought the movie was related to Augmented and Virtual Reality, as well as going next level from Artificial Intelligence. Am I wrong? You kind of touched something related to perception, which I can agree with; however, the film is related to algorithms which go beyond 1 and 0, beyond binary.
I'd like to comment on this and say we only know what we know about human heat sources because the matrix tells us that's how science works. The science in the actual world may be completely different than the science rules in the matrix.

I hate how few views this video has, this deserves thousands mate
I know right
This account is a bot. There is a real book called the philosophy of the matrix that is not cited here. Y'all are inside the matrix.

Very interesting, thank you.

The checkerboard tiles could be interpreted as an Alice in Wonderland reference.

I’ve watched the first one last week and am still thinking of it being real
ITS STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT
1:25 You're right, the Matrix kicks 9 kinds of dog crap out of any movie that's out today.
The fourth one was poor. Yet they are making a fifth one.

After watching the movie I'd take the blue pill I'm not built for the truth
The earth is flat.

pointless love stories do my head in, they usually just end up wasting time
This is still a great movie. The special effects and fight scenes are still great. Only the desktop computers and cell phones give away its age.
13:00 Morpheus doing the "as above so below" pose.
I actually think Reeves did a good acting job in this one I can’t always say it but he was really good in it
Cypher betrayed the whole group because he prefers Red Meat over Tasty Wheat.

Actually, humans are a excellent source of energy. We are like a alkaline batteries. Food for thought.

Anyone else associate the red and blue pill with the current Democratic and Republican/libertarian party
Sigh. The movie was made by two leftist trans women
No
@@idkthatxool749 probably because you are a democrat.. which should be pretty embarrassing with your parties history and all
