Driving around Baja Mexico trying to find fishing spots but getting skunked the whole way. An adventure that went wrong terribly wrong. Happy that it's over and look forward to fishing healthy again!

I literally slept for around 36 hrs in total, worst part was i couldnt keep any fluids or food down, cant really show that stuff because it sickening but yeah that was a rough ride!

@CavyFishing I was in Puerto Vallarta in the state of Jalisco. Whole variety of species there. Damn suck you got sick bro. My old man is from the area where you were. He told me what the locals told you. A few years back, the fishing was much better. Things drastically changed. There are also places with great inland fishing as well.

Sorry the trip turned out this way brother but happy you are doing much better. you experienced what a lot of island countries or beautiful coastal areas are experiencing. Non-natives come in and purchase the coastal properties but leave no access to the beaches for locals. It happens in my country also.
25:00 mark is a juvenile Cubera Snapper. As someone that has been bitten by a rattlesnake, I can honestly say I know how bad you felt, way to persevere and continue chasing the next bite. Tight lines and screaming drags!

Damn, trifecta sickness! Being from Southern California, we've made many trips up and down Baja. It's always hit and miss. 20 years ago, people said the same thing, "Oh, you should have been here a few years ago." The spotted fellas brought back memories - that's all we caught one day. Glad you survived. Next time fish Cabo from a boat or Southern California for Bluefin Tuna. They're biting off Ensenada now, in fact.

I think inside I was much more frustrated and exhausted, to be honest I’m not sure how I’ve held it together. This whole last year has been endless fails, listening to other people have mostly been the cause for most problems. So yeah I’m just really frothing to get back to my normal stoke life 😊 thanks Kasey ❤️

The fish you caught at 34:58 was a Spotted Bay/Sand Bass (but Californians just call them Spotties). They’re a super popular and fun game fish that you can catch in any bay or marina from Los Angeles all the way to the tip of Baja. They can get to about 5-7 lbs but most people catch are usually under a pound. They fight super hard on lighter gear and smaller baits
You survived rattle snake bite and all the rest. Finally we got the proof you are a real living legend! Stay safe we need you around!

It's a different feeling when you think you might die from some sort of unknown sickness.. it's not like narrowly escaping death in a car accident or whatever. You have time to think about dying and what you might leave behind, what you haven't done and all that, at least if you really think you are going to die. Scary stuff man. I'm really glad to hear you are ok and that the rattler venom didn't mess you up worse.
What you mentioned about fishing deteriorating in the past 5 years was echoed by a guide I went out with in costa rica this past january. We had a decent day out but he was saying he has a client that fishes with him several times a year who is basically loaded and travels all over the globe all year every year to fish and that dude was saying that everywhere he has gone the fishing has been much worse than normal. No matter where he went- Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia, Africa, Florida, you name it, it was not good. Just one guys experience but still. Eerie. Maybe ocean temps are the problem...inshore fisheries would suffer most from that I'd think. Some florida water was hotter than a hot tub this past year. That's f'd up.

Welcome to Mexico! Very few things are regulated there! We used to do trips to Baja in the 80s. Some great fishing! Modern times not so great! Local knowledge helps!

What camera do you use?. Looking to start a fishing channel but not sure what camera to get. I got a gopro hero 10 last year. it dies pretty quick and overheats on hot days.

I don't know where you're getting your water at but in MX you don't drink the water unless the hotel purifies the water even rinsing the salad requires purified water. Also a spiked drink is also highly possible over there. You gave it a good try out there

I fished the East Cape of Baja for 2 weeks in 2008 and had a couple of 5 lb roosters and not much else. Disappointed after a long journey from UK including a missed flight to LA.
Rented a Jeep and got stuck axle deep twice on the way to Punta Arena - never did make it to fish there.
Incredible place, none the less ... sunsets like nowhere else.
