When you mentioned going to the scrap yard being dangerous, I knew exactly what you meant. I once lived in a town that had an incredible scrap yard. I would limit myself to the amount of money I would take with me, otherwise I would be like a kid in a candy store and try to buy a little of everything.

Hi Rusty. First time I have seen an arbour like yours, lol now that you have shown it, there will be hundreds make around the world.😊. Great job & they fitted & worked without vibration. Catch you on Your next one
Hi Michel ☺ collecting useful scrap can be addictive, and like you said will very quickly fill up your shop, but it is a good way to find cheap material, and the pair of adapters turned out good, so it's a win ,win. Now you will be collecting different grades of buffing compound to go whith the mops, lol. Thanks for another interesting video mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
I'm sure your are content to have this project completed and providing usefulness in your shop! Excellent work. Now I need to find one of those scrap yards!
@@Rustinox Hahaha, yes!! When we used to go fossil hunting we would often come across something know as "fools gold" it was actually iron pyrites!! The phrase all that glitters is not gold comes from The Merchant of Venice, so that makes you, in my book, The Bard!! The internet also tells me that "The French monk Alain de Lille wrote "Do not hold everything gold that shines like gold" in 1175" Have a great weekend!!
More project's,,,ah yes 🙂Glad too have you back so quickly (@@)! My neighbor 2 miles away has a mini scrap piple, so he's my first go too. Quess you could say, my 7 Mercedes if not sold soon, will be come my scrap yard,,,hehe?
I wish I had a scrap yard near me that would let me pick through it. I've been pretty lucky in finding a good supply of small pieces, but it would be nice to find some larger shafts.
Michel, totally jealous of your scrap yard finds. There are no such goodies where I live. That leather wheel looks interesting too. If it were charged with the correct abrasive it will do a fine job.
The blocks of cutting compound you apply to a buffing wheel is called jewelers rouge. Jewelers rouge maybe a brand name. “Buffing compound” will work to describe what your doing or using. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely made, and I recognize the feeling all those pieces can be this and that and I don't get to the old iron place...just walking around work is enough for me
Nice work Rustinox. Good to hear you've a new local supply of metal. Keep popping in, you may just drop on something really interesting for a future project. Cheers Tony
I used to have a source for scrap - when I moved I could not take my collection with me (15 years worth).. You do think when you do some of these jobs that you have put off for years, why did I not do that sooner.... Good onya Michel
Hi Michel, super gemacht.
@@Rustinox Yeap, I went hunting for a piece for my current project last week and had to compromise a bit, but found something to do the job in the end. 👍
The dangerous part of old school scrap yards here in the UK was the feral Alsation security dogs. Modern scrap yards don't allow public access. Health and safety 🙄
That collar you removed @5:10 would make a great reinforcing ring for the drive end of your adaptor
I will think about that.
Toast, marmalade and adaptors for the buffing wheels: The perfect start to a Sunday 👍 🇬🇧
Bon appétit.

Thanks Kev.
I miss my old scrap yard. Nothing around me now.
That's sad. I hope you will find something.
I'm sure your are content to have this project completed and providing usefulness in your shop! Excellent work. Now I need to find one of those scrap yards!
Going to a scrap yard is like a treasure hunt :)
Oh the hours spent on the 6 polishing 2 belt sander machine! I used to work for a Cobbler when I was in High School!!! A long, long time ago!
I worked 6 years as a shoemaker.
Great job Michel. Some fantastic bits of metal you found there. I wish we had a scrap yard near us. Cheers Nobby
A scrap yard is a bit like a gold mine :)
Hi Michel, that worked really well 👍👌 .... You know I think you've found the secret of turning bronze (or brass) into gold!!
Have a great weekend!!
Not all that shines is gold :)

A nearby scrap yard with friendly people? You must have lived a virtuous life.
Sometimes all you need is a little luck :)
Great repair Michel. I wish I had a scrap yard near me. Very handy.
Regards.
Steve.
Scrapyard is like paradise.
Way to go Michel. That will be a lot stronger than the first one. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
Thanks Harold.
Nice sometimes the smallest parts bring the most joy!!
Absolutely.
That's great that you found a scrap yard. Now you can think of what to make. More things for the shop maybe.
A pile of future projects :)
I'm so glad that you have a new source of materials for future projects!
Well, I am too.
G'day Rusti, I fully understand the dangers of the scrap yard. And my future projects are just like yours - who knows what.
Indeed. Well, we'll see :)
Oh! Left us hanging… 😂. Your videos are really enjoyable.
Thanks you very much.
Very nice work.
And nothing better than having a local scrap.
All the best.
Thanks Martin. You're right.
A scrap yard is more addicting than drugs, I know from personal experience. nice adapters
Never did any drugs, so I can't tell. But it could well be :)

2 miles, that's not far at all.

One day maybe...
Nice work, Rusti! So glad you got that Deckel, it suits you. 👍
Thanks Dudley.
je hebt altijd zeer goede ideeen ,ik leer steeds wat bij ,Dank voor de interessante videos
Thanks Ludo.

Thanks Preso. Maybe you don't have a scrap yard, but we don't have kangaroos :)
I see myself in the scrapyard part of the video: "I have no idea of what it is, it's cast steel and it's beautiful!"
Spot on :)
Nice fix up. looks to work well. Closest scrap / steel yard for me is 1.5 hrs away.
For me, only 20min.
Nice work getting the buffing wheel and rotary strop to work, good to see you have a source for steel.
It will come in very handy, for sure.

Rouge is the red one there are many others. I the Uk we call them polishing compounds but also just soap.
You are very funny and skilled a very good combo my friend
Thanks Paul.

I sure will.

15 Years? I suppose it was a big pile :)
My shaper is alive! i need to see all your shaper videos again. its posted on here, under metal shaper.
I watched your video and left a comment.
Michel Good Job Son Good Job
About time you got back i missed you wile you were gone
I was at the scrap yard :)
I also have a pile of future projects ! Several, even.
Good. You know what to do :)
Hi mate I go to the truck. Repair shop and get the old brake cam shafts good for steel all the best trevor
These S-shafts are perfect to make parts.
Leather by itself is a mild abrasive. You can add rouge or or other polishing compounds, but just leather will work.😊
Yes, that will work.
Nice work sir.
Thanks.
good job rustinox
Thanks.
Rusty at the new scrapyard;

You bet!
Nice job!
Thanks Mick.
Well done Michel. But one day...
Thanks. Lol.
Great repair Rusti, I wondered at the history of your belt sander setup, now I know...... shoes. Congratulations on your 666👺
Indeed, shoes.

Don't worry. I know exactly what can happen while using a buffing wheel.
👍
:)
Nothing wrong with a piece of Scrapbinium to make what you want, I wish the scrappie I go to had more to offer than just Steel 👍
It's all about finding the right piece for the project.
@@Rustinox Yeap, I went hunting for a piece for my current project last week and had to compromise a bit, but found something to do the job in the end. 👍

Does the groove for the other side have to be the opposite angle?
These adaptors can be used on both sides and in both ways.

You're right. Dogs...
What a "bright" idea. 😁
Thanks. It's clear :)
One day, you will use it😀
Sure :)
Michel, you will have to start doing projects for cash. So you can payoff your scrap yard addiction🤗👍🏴
Not sure. I would like to keep my freedom to make what I want whenever I want.
Effortless!
Almost.
Lookin good Rusti! Thanks for the time you give.
Thanks John.
