I’m back with the first episode of Travel with Travis! In this week's vlog, I’m living and working in the vibrant Navarte neighborhood of Mexico City. Known for its artistic flair and bohemian atmosphere, I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for something a little off the usual beaten path of Roma Norte, Condesa and Polanco. (If it’s your first time in Mexico City though, you’re probably going to want to stay in one of those neighborhoods because they’re magical!)

Looks like you made the most of your time there despite getting sick. I ended up getting sick for a chunk of my trip to Spain this year and tried to do the same. Just one more reason for me to go explore Spain again, it was wonderful too.

OMG !!! My wife and I were just in MEX for the last week. Stayed and loved our time in Roma Norte. Visited all of the tourist sites. Can't wait to return. Wish we knew you were in town. Have missed watching your videos from Merida.

If you are planning to visit Mexico City to visit the sites as we did and you wish to visit the Frida Kahlo museum (the Blue House), please make a reservation online before you travel. We did not know this and were not able to visit the museum. Enjoy !!!

I love Merida, but also fell deeeply in love with CDMX, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Valladolid, Queretaro, SMA…the list is a lil long 🫠 It all depends on what you’re looking for, but I’d recommend visiting a couple of places (or watching my old Cafe con Leche videos) to see what best suits you! ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Sergio and congrats on the move!! I work for a fully remote company in the States, which is how I’m able to travel and work at the same time. I found them on remote.io - hopefully that helps!
I understand it's disappointing to get sick on trips because you're only there for a limited time, not like slow travel. My husband got sick on our last two trips to Mexico. Worsened to a chest infection too. Anti biotics helped.
The worst! I thankfully ended up getting antibiotics in Colombia ❤️❤️❤️

Take care of yourself, Travis! Next time, at the first sign of a sore throat go to see a doctor next to any farmacia similar for antibiotics. Rest up and drink your fluids, I don't mean coffee. Coconut water from the street, with some lime juice is so great!

Hi Travis, I used to watch every video when you and your ex partner were together and you guys were living in Mexico, are you going to move back to Mexico? you should do it. You can travel to other parts of the word, but make some where in Mexico your home. I thing you'll should make your home, Santiago de Queretaro. My Husband and I are going to retire there. I love Mexico City. The food is amazing, there's always something to do, and their Spanish is so much easier to understand than what's spoken in Yucatan. Bosque de Chapultepec is almost exactly twice as big as Central Park. Nice to see you again Travis, hope you're feeling better now - Anne

So great to see you Travis! Hope you're feeling better. I have a quick Spanish suggestion for you ... "Puedo tener" is a literal translation from English that doesn't sound ideal to the Spanish (or Mexican) ear. At a restaurant, try "Me das...?" Or "Me traes...?". In Madrid, they say "Me pones un café con leche?". It's one simple way to seem less "guiri" (Sp) or "gringo" (Mex) right from the get-go. So excited to be coming to CDMX in February and March as I just got residency in Mexico as well. P.S. I hope you don't mind the Spanish suggestion. I was saying it wrong for years until one day someone corrected me and I soooo appreciated it.

I miss the food and this time of year most definitely the weather. As for no one wanting to watch a single traveler your mistaken David. I've traveled alone for years and all the videos I came across after the Pandemic showed couples. It was a whole different vibe for those of us alone during lockdown and traveling. Seeing everything again through your eyes is something I look forward to. Safe travels.
