Marie takes YOU to Marden's to look at fabric!

- Join me for a walk through most of the fabric aisles at my local Marden's store. I avoided other shoppers to preserve their privacy, but I hope you'll enjoy it even if we did miss an aisle or two. I stop to show prices here and there and overall, I tried to let you see what I see when I go in to shop. At any rate, it will give you all a better idea of what I see when I talk about Marden's.

You are so welcome! In terms of fabric, I’m sure that’s true. But the other things that are available at regular craft stores, aren’t usually available. Like when I showed that strapping, or whatever it’s called, they might have that here this week, but in a few weeks they wouldn’t, and they probably wouldn’t get it back. You can’t go in and find tools that you might need either. Well, it’s hit or miss. But, I’m very lucky to have the availability of fabric!
I wish I had a store like that in Illinois.

I should have bought when I saw it at Mardens. It's awesome. I think you have a bigger selection than Waterville.
You know that motto, lol! Yes, each one that I have seen has been different. Funny how that is. I haven’t been inside the Waterville one for years. That’s the one my mom shops out since it’s the closest to Augusta.

Yes, they have a great selection of fabric. I need to go in and take my time, going slowly down each aisle to find what I’m looking for. When I filmed this, I didn’t really look at what I was seeing through my phone lens, I just walked through to show you guys what we have. There there were two aisles I didn’t even go down.

I went to my local Mardens in Waterville yesterday and scored 2 Jelly rolls , Web of Roses and Evergreen Bows by Maywood Studio for $24.99 each . I looked up original price when I got home and definitely got a deal
It sounds like you’ve got a great deal! Ours has pre-cuts from time to time. Each Marden’s is so different, aren’t they?

Yes, our local Marden’s is bigger than some others. My nearest Joann fabrics is about 250 miles away.
Marie!!! I’m so jealous! When you were looking at the precuts- the video game controller one was one of the fabrics I used to make my book pillows that I showed at our Christmas pj zoom party! Thanks for taking us with you- now I’m itching to go fabric shopping 😂❤❤❤

Oh Marie.🎉 That store is fabulous. I don't know what I would do in a store like that. I thought they had little remnant of fabric in there and here they have isles & isles of bolts of fabric. I'm glad there is not one nearby because it would be my ruination. Lol. Thank you for taking us all on this tour and see you in the morning.❤😂
You're sew welcome, Terie! It's a store that's difficult to describe, so I figured the only way was to show you guys what its trulyike, was togilm through the aisles. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour! Most of the time, I leave my credit cards at home and I'm sure you see why I do that, ha ha!
Just realized it shows up under my husband, lol. He doesn't sew. That's my gig since I was 8 and started 4-H. Had the best leader in the world.

The Lewiston one has a very good selection but I think the one you are shopping at has it beat.
I was in the Lewiston store many years ago, but I don't remember anything about the fabric section, lol. I'm originally from Augusta- where there isn't a Marden's... go figure, lol.

Hi! Darlene used to shop at the Sanford, ME Marden's. The one I shop at is about 320 miles north, lol. We all love our Marden's here in Maine. GREAT eye!

Oh my goodness Marie, You are in fabric heaven! I have never ever seen that much fabric in one location in my life! I live way out in the country. I am 45 miles to the nearest Hobby Lobby and they don’t have 1/4th of that much material. I’m about a little over 3 hours from Fabric stores.

I’m so happy that you enjoyed this video. Yes, they are great for fabrics, but that’s about all you can get there. For instance, they have sewing machine needles available, but they’re not a brand I’ve ever heard of and the one time I bought them, they had burrs on the end and wouldn’t go through the fabric without making a big hole. But we are very lucky to have the fabric available. Like you, I am a ways away from things. It’s about 250 miles from here to my nearest Joann, or Hobby lobby.

Never heard of mardens
It's a store found only in the state of Maine. It's a surplus and salvage store, with a bit of everything and ours (luckily) has a lot of fabric
