I feel like the older I get the more I appreciate this anime. I understand the themes of growing up and changing more. Relationships lost and gained. How much we and other people change, even though we don’t want it to. And the acceptance that comes with it. Even though this anime has supernatural themes, it confronts the harshest truths of real life.
More than anything i just adore the animation, it's absolutely incredible I mean the setting alone makes it stand out, i haven't found anything like it
This anime speaks so much me now that im an adult, i also watched this show when i was in highschool in 2013, back then I didn't really have enough understanding of this show, all i cared for was the romance. Now I'm an adult, and this show just speaks to my heart in a deeper level than it did years ago. I'm slowly changing, but it's a slow process as I've had a hard time also accepting change.
Why is this anime so criminally underrated??? It is one of my favorites, and I only found it by chance! Why is/was nobody talking about it? A lot of much worse, generic anime series gets a lot more attention, and it doesn't fit into my head why!
For whatever reason it is a show I see a lot of mixed feelings for. People either love it or hate it. It really baffles me how people can hate it, it makes no sense to me, I love this show, I have really fond memories of watching it.
Seems like a lot of simpletons hate on it, only talking about how it’s just an “annoying love triangle spaghetti” 😔 A shame they can’t understand the various themes and topics it touches upon.
It's not good because the writer also said that he doesn't know what love is and made this SH*T he left the blue hair girl and make the main character go for the nieceit fuck*Ed up i showed it to more than 60 people they all hated it 😅
I remember watching the first two episodes or so when it first came out told myself I'd come back to it. Ten years later and I finally came back to it. Really glad I did, good show with a touching story. Glad I remembered to finally watch it. Honestly it was more relevant at me at this point in my life too.
I love this. I followed it when it was airing in 2013. At the time i was on my junior year of college and watched it for the visuals and shipping lol 10 years later i cant help but feel so attached to this show having moved away from the province, lose friends, and gain new relatonships. I love how you worded out ypur thoughts in this video!!
I just wanted to say I’ve been looking for a really good video essay for this show. This is definitely one of the best ones out there. Adored this show and loved this video!
Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! This show is definitely a gem, I hope further attention can be put on it because I absolutely love it, haha.
Hell yeah my man, can't believe you actually were invited into #teamseas. Banger video, and who ever did that camera work needs a rase because that was on point.
oh this anime wow i have an imense amout of love for this show rewatched it 4 times and its by far one of my favortie PA works so happy to see it get love
Oh yea other thing that you didn't mention is the way change effects the way other person reflect on them selves for example akari after the time skip understand that what he did was just break the group down more by being secretive about his feelings and by the end of the show his own feelings change as well due to that reflection I still think this video was peak but just thought I would add a bit
Saw this, and reminded me how much I loved this show😭😭, honestly this show was perfect for me not too long not too short, the music was sooo perfect for their theme, especially the 2nd opening you'll really feel the sudden shift of the vibe to regret, all characters had depth and how the hero and heroine got a resolution and others had to accept and move forward especially for kaname and manaka😭😭, I'll definitely rewatch this....
i watched your review again great job brother ....i love your thesis, change and it's relationship to love. very relevant to me as i've moved away from famiy for work, and trying to stay in touch !!!
I expected someone to say it's not worth it but as Miuna fan, I'm very happy to see this video...Yeah the show isn't about who is better, but who changed to better in then end. and Love was so well written in regards of letting you know that you can mess up and learn from your mistakes because there will be people who love you regardless.
Holy shit, I haven't seen you for years, and damn have your videos improved since then. This anime has been on my watch list for like 3 years, I really need to start it
I remember binging this anime one day back in 2021 or 2022 (I forgot) and the uncle and the niece were oddly in love was I tweaking lol?? I searched this up on UA-cam bc I was AFRAID if I was tweaking or not
This show has been on my to watch list for so many years, and i finally watched this weekend and i loved every second of it. In 2013 my teen years were a storm but i made it out an im so hapoy i finally saw this
Well the algorithm blessed me with a good video essay, especially Nagi no Asukara which I feel needs more attention. Never realized that Ena was also supposed to be also symbolic for love, wow I missed that. But I really love this series and yeah it's hard to get to the meat of it since it's a spoiler, but made the series worth it (actually I liked the second half better). So happy to find your channel!
Though it was a good series there a few flaws like Miuna likes Hikari but Hikari is the uncle of Miuna and their Miuna brother and Hikari sister married each other and that kinda made things hella confusing for me

It's pretty outdated now but when it first came out, it was popular everywhere
i watched this show after leaving a psychiatric hospital...they played this at the recovery center and it was a beautiful time in my life !!!
I remember watching the first two episodes or so when it first came out told myself I'd come back to it. Ten years later and I finally came back to it. Really glad I did, good show with a touching story. Glad I remembered to finally watch it. Honestly it was more relevant at me at this point in my life too.
honestly this is one of the biggest examples i use when i try to talk about good use of times skips
A Lull In The Sea is heartbreaking, heartwarming, inspiring, powerful, an emotional roller coaster masterpiece.
The most underrated romance / coming of age anime ever
I love this. I followed it when it was airing in 2013. At the time i was on my junior year of college and watched it for the visuals and shipping lol
