I know this was a long while back but I've to say for a 2013 anime series the animation was way ahead and better then most modern animation. Whoever were the producers and animators they really put so much heart, courage, money, and effort into this.
This is such a work of art,,, the characters, the story plot, the animation, the complicated and yet sweet relationships,,, every bit of it is so beautiful! Why, oh why, is this SO underrated?T_T
Nagi No Asukara will always be one of my favourite romance stories. It sticks to, and showcases, the theme of ‘change’, primarily in the second half, perfectly.

Well although chisaki did like him, it kind of showed later on that her feelings towards him wasn't rlly like or love. She later on likes tsumugu though but she's just scared that everything will change so yeah
People give the show so much hate, but it is the single best show I have watched to date. Project 118 put everything they had into this show. The way they developed each character at a natural rate while not making the story boring kept me glued to my screen episode after episode. They took great care in making each of the relationships between all the characters both main and supporting as natural and convincing as possible, not only giving them plot relevance but having them influence all aspects of the show and other characters. I’ve always liked a good romance story, but most shows either have plot convenience or flat character design to pull the story along. What makes this show so great is that the characters drive the plot and the plot drives the characters. As the story unfolds you get to not only figure your way through the deep, complex relationships between the characters but watch them develop even further and work through their struggles with each other and the environment. I have yet to find another story with such deep interconnected relationships between characters as Project 118 has given us here. Truly one of the best stories ever written.
I hope you watched irozuku; the world in colors. From the same studio. It's a masterpiece. Nagi no asukara was quite popular back than but there is not much attention given to irozuku and it came out in 2018, so it's quite new. If you did watch it, I hope you find it as beautiful as I did, nagi no asukara and irozuku are one of my favourite anime ^^.

For those who don't get about Manaka not accepting feeling Hikari's feelings, basically she had pain that everything would destroy there relationships on their friendship. When Hikari hugged her she was surprised and scared that he won't accept her feelings. Therefore when Hikari told her how he feels for her, she was going to tell him after the Ofunehiki. When Manaka, Hikari, Chisaki, and Kaname were at the school she was confused cause she doesn't like Tusumgu. She ran away cause she was scared. That was the story.
That indeed was great! :D And the part where the song is like: ,,If you ever loved somebody put your hands up! '' just perfectly fits the scene, I never would have thought about that... man it was just amazing! :D
