  • This is not a project I built. I'm not smart enough for that. However, I did install this lawn mower in my yard, and felt that a review of it could benefit anyone who was considering a robot lawn mower. After owning it for about a year, I think I have some experience to share.

Hey there! As a busy dad with a lot on my plate, I totally understand the struggle of finding time for everything, especially lawn care. That's why I love the Segway Navimow! It's efficient and performs really well, saving me precious time and effort. With this robotic lawn mower, I can spend more quality moments with my family or pursue my passions. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Nice video. What model is it? How did you make it to go to secondary area automatically? Did you cut the cement for 3 wires in particular distance to each other??

It is the 5400 sq ft model. The wires through the cement must be at least 12 inches apart or they will interfere with each other. To get it to go to the second area there is an option to have it follow the center (guide) wire a certain distance before starting mowing. I just measured how much wire it has to follow before it will be in the second section. There is actually some good info in the instructions, although you have to read it a few times before it makes any sense.

Why not have it do it's job over the night? So it's not on the way during the day.

That is certainly an option, especially since it is so quiet. However, the dew in my area gets heavy at night. It won't hurt the mower, but it does make the little grass clippings stick all over the mower. Then I'd have to wash it off more often. Also I have solar panels on my house that recharge it if it finishes it's mowing during the day. But mowing overnight is certainly a good option if you don't want it out running around while you are in the yard.

After 8 months would you still recommend this? I've seen mixed reviews on Amazon. Does it cross the pavement to the other side of your lawn?

Overall I still would. I did have a power supply go out on it recently. The company never responded to my email for a replacement, so that is a bad mark on them. But I was able to make an adapter that makes it so I can use a cheap replacement power supply. Other than that recent problem it has done an excellent job of keeping the lawn mowed. It does cross the pavement and maintain both sides. I recently adjusted the cut height down a notch, and now it keeps the small patch of clover in that area from being able to bloom. So my lawn looks more consistent than ever and my grass is healthier than ever. It was a bit of a pain to get set up, which is probably part of the reason for the mixed reviews. But with a little patience in setup it is totally worth it. Hope this helps.
