You've definitely got the best tong demo videos that I've been able to find. I feel like I have the knowledge I need to make my own now!

Good video Dan. I've been struggling with getting good shots of what the material is doing at working temperatures myself, so don't beat yourself up about working colder than you normally would. You can't avoid it really. As long as you say so it should stop any pitchfork waving mobs, or Aussie's with BIC lighters :)

awsome scrolling nibs there, and no 4 1/2 inch eraser (grinder) work. was nice to see such fine forged to finish work, and a heavy set of scrolling tong that wont bend or twist thanks .

We call it Forge welding down here and it's easily done in a gas Forge. Can get my little gas one up-to 1350•c

18K subs and only 30+ likes? That's gotta be YT algorithm messing with the numbers.

No great issue forge welding in my gas forge. They get more than hot enough. If anything it is easier as you don't have to be worried about burning stuff off as much as you do in a coke forge, so you can have several irons in the fire at once so to speak!.

I weld in a gas forge all the time. I do prefer to weld in a coke fire though.

Daniel Moss I have successfully Forge welded mild Steel in a gas forge you just got to get it hot as hell ( I guess I have to add if you're Forge can get that hot some propane ones don't). Daniel if you go back and look at that flower I made that heart I Forge welded the edge of that and then bent it Into the Heart. As a matter of fact that was my only One hit Forge weld

Yep. Just have to get it very hot. I use iron mountain welding flux which makes pretty easy.

I’d rather weld it in my coke forge without flux 😀
