In Australia we climb to the top of the crag and walk off. What's with the stopping short?

The FA decided to put the anchors there. I'm just following orders. I do agree it appears the route could extend. I got 2 FAs that day at that crag, I'll investigate the remainder and get back to you. Cheers, Thanks for watching! I spent time in Melbourne a few years ago; made some nature videos about it - the other part of my channel is relaxing nature videos lol Bob Ross energy.

In most of the us, especially sport, routes stop and you lower from chains. iirc most of the red does that, because in many parts, the top is really featureless and straight up roof, the sandstone is just incredibly unique there.

Visit the red and you'll learn why. At most crags the last 15 feet to the roof is usually absolute dog water. It's covered in moss, lichen, mud, and has a steady stream of sticks and leaves pasted all over. Unless it's pristine slab most routes end before the top of the walls.
