Dungeon quest actually has a tutorial, but judging by your taunt spell and the fact that you had the legacy desert temple unlocked when you joined, you must've joined this game at some point in the past and so it doesn't give you a tutorial
i remember just how boring dungeon quest was back when i played it a few years ago, i can just barely recall the dungeon you did and the colosseum/arena mode(?) eh but long story short i never got into the game, had no juicy gameplay and the new game experience wasn’t riveting from what i remember

But as far as i can tell (from eclipse's gameplay), the game's easy on lower level dungeons, but trying to solo the higher leveled dungeons was literal hell that having someone higher leveled to carry you was a necessity. I dropped the game on lvl 170+ (the enchanted forest) cuz it was getting too ridiculous.
I quit this game for the exact reasons you just explained every new dungeon was rinse and repeat the same damn task while I will say it was normal to die in 2-3 hits when I played it still has the same problems it always has
What sucks is this game got a whole UI revamp but they didnt see fit to revamp any of the combat. It would be cool to get one but i think the game hits its target audience, children. so, doesnt really matter cause they are making their money and probably wont do anything.
What I really wished is that they didn't do anything to the UI, or so much as to make it at least relevant to the game. It feels so simulator like and idk it just doesn't fit right anymore
as someone who played Dungeon Quest with 2 friends, during events that effectively gave us 4 times more experience than normal, and grinded it to where I am currently, level ~110: Yeah the game is boring af. Just play something else.

This game used to be different. This game was bought out by a big studio called Voldex games who, while improving visuals, have made the game INCREDIBLY easy. The new dungeons being added are not hard at all and older dungeons that got reworked are the same case. However not all dungeons are reworked,and so the 90-180 range is extremely difficult for solo players edit: I much preferred the game when it was harder as you had to think and play as a functional team to progress
I'm a little bit mixed on the difficulty of the past compared to now, because the "difficulty" back then just meant that you had to spend ages grinding for the best gear of the previous dungeon to even have a CHANCE at dealing with the new dungeon without just getting carried by a friend or trying to hit a brick wall with a toothpick, and that made the grind substantially worse than it already was getting access to those new dungeons back then. Is the game being an easier a consequence of dealing with that problem? Yes, but I feel like it's at least little justified.
While I agree on the difficulty it does not really change my opinion on it. While it was harder back then the combat and everything else but the visuals as basically the same. (Lets not bring up how you possibly wont get what you want in the RNG loot)
Gilded skies (last vcaffy map) is true nightmare with 2nd boss rng mess, nukes+anti heal spam. Yokai peak difficulty just went off a downslide like "why tf nightmare hc solo is so ez" the boss are nothing. I died to minions more than bosses is just wild asf.
Progressing through DQ solo is extremely boring and repetitive; however, playing with friends in higher-level dungeons is actually a blast, it takes a bit of time for the game to get good. One major point I agree with you on is how bad the loot drop system is, relying entirely on RNG. Good critique of the game.
In the words of a wise Triburos: "You're not angry with something that you don't care about." Eclipse got angry over the last game because it had potential and he wanted it to succeed. However, he can't even be bothered to get mad in this case and just calls it boring (which it is). That's because he doesn't care, like an unpainted bowl or something.
You know im kind of surprised they revamped those first dungeons. You should have seen what the starter dungeon was like BEFORE... Just r15 dummies with the sand texture plastered on. And the boss? A big r15 dummy with sand texture plastered on! It makes what im seeing right now look GOOD in comparison.

Oh man this game takes me back. I remember grinding it out with my friends years ago figuring out their cryptic secrets that may or may not have actually lead to anything. edit: I haven't played in forever and some of the maps and enemies have changed, new bosses and whatnot is really cool but I can't help but feel some of the artwork I saw in the game reeks of AI. Because I used to love the game I wanna give it the benefit of the doubt but it REALLY looks like it.
Ngl I had a friend who played an anime version of this game ages ago. At one point he was in the leaderboard for the top 30 levels... Yeah, worst part about it, he still plays it every now and then.
@@flameguard505 to be fair. It was only that bad if you were over the level needed to play the dungeon yet to be released. If they made it so you leveled every certain amount of dungeons, some people might be in the late hundreds, or even early thousands of levels. it gets harder to level up to reduce how unfair it could be for someone that plays more than others.(the reason I say this is because of how crucial skill points are)

There is actually more problems later on. I am around level 190 in dungeon quest, later on you will reach a point where the difficulty curve actually gets too difficult. Although this only applies once you are close to the current dungeon, they have done a good job nerfing the older dungeons to make them easier. Where clearing dungeons solo with the gear offered from the previous dungeon is either impossible or very difficult. Often times you will need the very best gear you can get from that dungeon to clear the easiest difficulty of the next dungeon (assuming you don't die a single time and play efficiently). That may make you question, then how do people progress later on in the game? That's where the next problem is, what people are forced to do is one of 2 things, they either ask a player who is higher level to carry them and do all of the work for them (most popular option, like 90% of high level players gained most their levels doing nothing) or the 2nd option which is to farm the previous dungeon until you are like 10 levels over leveled, wait for your next daily reward and claim items from the next dungeon hoping they work with your build. Since daily reward is scaled off level.
you don't need the absolute best gear. Someone beat GS ins with a set of Jotun gear and an avg pot legendary. To be fair, you do need EIR or EIF later on to be able to complete the dungeons.
I used to play this game before Voldex got their slimy hands on it. But not solo, like you played it. DQ is definitely a very boring game to play solo, as its simplicities become the most apparent there. Genuinely, I thought the game was fun up until Steampunk Sewers. Pretty fairly balanced (past the first three dungeons), hard enough to make beating a dungeon for the first time exciting, but not so hard that you'll never find a group to beat it with other than getting carried by endgame players. It was fun to get a really good team going and have your teamwork carry you all to victory. Hell, later dungeons even try to incorporate/account for it in the dungeon itself. The dungeon crawler gameplay loop just felt satisfying to grind, the spells were cool, getting rare items you needed felt awesome, it was just a fun game to play after a dull day of high school or whatever. Most of the enemies and bosses were fun to dodge (past the first three dungeons). Genuinely this game made me get WAYYYYYYYYYYYY better at dodging attacks in all sorts of games. However, if you're not into loot-based grindy progression games, which it seems like you aren't, then yes, the simplicity of the game and its extreme reliance on RNG will definitely be a turn-off. And the game is so fucking bad after steampunk sewers that I regret all the time I wasted still playing it, hoping the game would eventually get back to its glory days when it never did (enchanted forest was okay though i guess) There is a game I've been playing that was inspired by DQ and, in my opinion, is a far better game than it: Fabled Legacy. The game has awful monetization practices, but it solves most of DQ's main issues without losing the feel of the game. 1: you get more loot overall per dungeon 2: dungeons are better overall 3: a pity system that increases your chance for legendary/secret items the more dungeons you go without getting one 4: better balancing so you usually don't NEED the strongest items from the previous dungeon to advance to the next (the game has been getting worse at this with recent dungeons, though) 4.5: actually, the game is just better balanced overall. No infinite healing from a single heal spell or dying instantly to a single attack (usually if you do die to a single attack, you deserved it) 5: alternate progression methods with elemental raids to get special rings, and infinite tower to get sigils 6: calamity mode for each dungeon alters the AI of bosses to make them far more difficult to fight, alongside a brutal stat buff to make it serve as a good final challenge while waiting for the next dungeon. no-hit mode also exists for this purpose, but no-hit mode is stupid. chaos mode also changes the dungeon visually and gives it a new song. 7: level locks are way less apparent because you gain levels at an ALARMING rate 8: the game actually accounts for solo players by adding orbs that fully heal you between rooms that only appear when playing solo 9: idk it just feels better to play? buuuuut, if your main issues with DQ are it being simplistic in nature with its combat and gameplay (which isn't an inherently bad thing, y'know), you probably won't like it much either. I dunno. You decide if you wanna try it or not.
I don’t get why people are hating on voldex so much. Literally if they didn’t buy out the game I can almost guarantee we’d be over a year in without a single update. Even though some of their changes aren’t good they’re still responsible for a vast majority of quality of life features and for the last 2 dungeons The only thing I dislike about them is their monetization, but other than that eclipse would have a whole lot worse to say had they not bought out the game

Not only do they legit just try to take employees from other studios like little vultures, they're actively buying car licensing for the sake of trying to run other car games out of business with DMCA strikes (this happened with gamefam and anime games due to the crunchyroll partnership.) They're outright rude to a lot of people at RDC as well

I remember playing this game alot in 2019, but the ui got ruined and events started to become 'grind x currency for an insane amount of time to get one random title you will never use' i hope they fix new events so its less grindy

My main issue with this game is the lack of variety, almost every weapon has the same animation same everything. The only differnce is the stats and damage.
1:08 funny thing is that it has a tutorial and it's literally exactly that Sadly the game got bought by some greedy company and they turned the game into a complete cashgrab; random quests made to waste your time, unbearable timelocked side-grinds for rings and potions that you could of course buy with robux and get instantly, a boss that you can spawn with robux which has op loot and small drops that can be used to craft the best weapons in the game... if you beat the boss a bajillion times, that is, etc. Ironically enough, you don't get the tutorial screen anymore when spawning in the game BECAUSE the game got bought over, and most of the powercreep, RNG and horrible progression also comes from that. I hate the "it gets better later" argument for any game with bad gameplay at all but this is one of those cases where it's somewhat valid, the game plays out more like a bullet hell later on in your progression as the bosses get more complicated attack patterns, click damage becomes unreliable and bosses get different phases rather than the whole gameplay being just spamming attacks and clicks at a bullet sponge with barely any attacks at all, and that's what makes the game fun.

There is one issue with this game and it is the same problem with blox fruits, you have to grind for hours on hours until you reach the final dungeon, wait for an update and get a thrill exploring something new with plenty of other people, then get bored until the next update comes out
Dungeon Quest is my childhood game. I spent years grinding on it, which is painful because it used to take like 100 dungeons to level up, and there was no retry button at the time, so I had to recreate and join the dungeon everytime. It is an extremely repetitive game. At higher levels, the m1 attack becomes useless and barely does damage.
the only "good" thing about dungeon quest is the later bosses which are like a bullet hell and are a bit hard to do but you do need to play alot to even get to them which is another issue
It’s so true though. It requires hour upon hours of literally doing the same thing over and over and over. You either spend years of your life doing solo dungeons and getting little to no exp. Or you constantly seek carrys which is also just as boring.
I swear,i was addicted to this game two years ago.I reached Lv 201 through absolute pain by begging people to carry me and then Disconnecting mid way. The pain and suffering i went through was beyond that which guts had experienced

The game loop consists of Dungeon > Kill Enemies > Possible Mini-Boss > Boss > Gear that may or may not be what you are looking for but you cant control it because its all RNG > Spells that may or may not be what you are looking for but you cant control it because its all RNG > Possibly Equip Gear/Skills > Possible New Dungeon > Repeat

Dungeon quest is just a former shell of what it used to be. We used to get dungeons quite regularly with new mechanics and more like 4 years ago and everything went kinda ok but the game got sold and all they release now is new skins u can only get with robux or a dungeon once every 234 years mid/10 game

Dungeon quest is not about combat its more about dodging boss moves by memorising boss moves, which is extremely difficult in higher levels. the reason why the later bosses are so difficult is because the old dungeons were made so long ago while the more recent dungeons are made after the game has come a long way. But I agree, the progressing is really slow especially when you get to around level 150+
As someone who years ago used played this game every day, I can confirm that all you have to do to progress in the game is either get carryed or wait 30 minutes in order to get a decent party
this game is incredibly boring, it has no style, no substance, and no effort put into it. and while that may be the case, blox fruit stands tall as a masterpiece, a game rich with lore, amazing places to explore, well designed quests with intelligent enemy AI, and the boss fights... man oh man do i love the boss fights! they're so amazing, they act like real players, their movesets have variety and the drop rates for important items is incredibly generous too!! this game gets 1 snowmans out of 8 for me, it might be someone elses cup of tea, but certainly not mine!
the main killer of the game is its exp curve where it geta noticeable ataround level 90 where it takes ages to kill mobs solo, needing carries from other players, then the amount of times you need to do that same dungeon (which is an incredible amount) in short this games progression is like infinitely longer than runescape
My friend forced me to play this back in 2020. He gave me some "OP" gear that I couldn't use because it was level locked to help me with the grind. I never got to use the gear because I quit in like a week.
“Its easy and repetitive and you get good things by chance” that’s what most low level people say. The more you progress the more fun and the harder the game becomes. By the time you hit level 120 that’s when the grind begins and the difficulty of leveling up ramps up tremendously. Try out our new dungeon “Abyssal Void” it’s the opposite of easy.

By the time you would’ve reached the top dungeon you would’ve developed a desire to be the best and become stronger. It’s also the mystery of what you will be rewarded for completing the dungeon. It’s almost like an RNG but you have to work for it. Nothing is handed to you in this game, that’s why most people find it boring because this game requires dedication.
Although the quality keeps ramping up the gameplay is still the same and as boring tbh. And the fact that they added charge ups only makes the game even slower. Still wouldn't compare it to how trashy and effortless rng games and bloxfruits is. Those games are soulless.
You should review "World Zero", when you spoke about Dungeon Quest it reminded me of that game, it's like this but very more in-depth and pretty famous on Roblox
while it is more in-depth and (in my opinion) much more enjoyable, eclipse would probably still have similar complaints: - repetitive kill enemy > level up > get better equipment > repeat, nothing else to break the gameplay loop until you get invested in trading - the game is not difficult at all, if you have any spatial awareness then challenge mode is basically what normal mode should be - level-locked dungeons, which makes sense to me, but he doesn't like them so that's why i'm pointing it out - no early game stat variety: perks barely matter until you get legendary gear at max level and most of them are pretty garbage anyways tldr: a review on wz would end up being almost the same as this video

Don't compare dungeon quest to a battlegrounds game, or for a matter of fact ANY game at all. This is epitome of trash, if I ever learned how to make games and wanted to make the ABSOLUTE WORST ONE I'd take inspiration from dungeon quest
As someone who has reached Level 150, it's so repetitive that you need to use the opposite class for the desired class you wanna play. That feature.. uhmm yeah, the game will ALMOST ALWAYS give you items from another class.. If I had to describe late game for DQ, it's get carried or you aren't progressing untill you get lucky. Also the Legacy Dungeons are just "haha more hp and more damage" Level 130+ also unlocks Raids. which is just kill one boss.
The dungeons get harder as you go. The old owner of this game sold it to a company and that’s where things went downhill. The dungeons get hard after 5-7 dungeons. The new owner of dungeon quest reworked the first 2 dungeons so that babies can play the game. Another thing, dq added an op speed&buff spell and they haven’t made a replacement in like 2 years😭

you see, while dungeon quest gameplay loop is the same. it was one of the first dungeon games on roblox. also its been purchased by voldex so it sucks now (also the game has a tutorial but apparently you logged on earlier)
also please look into the late game DODGING not combat. combat is easy simple and thats what makes it enjoyable. tho dodging can be difficult in future dungeon. you should definently look at the dungeons past winter outpost (voldex reworked desert temple and winter outpost) hopefully you see this comment and give the game another look

THERE IS A REASON TO GO BACK you can get items "purple collect's" which are worth a good amount in trading. i can predict being on ddos but who cares! so basically, please look into the later parts of the game, it really hurts you not knowing anything about the game. you play the first 2 dungeon that were recently reworked by the new dev team (voldex) so like i recommend building an actual opinion once you get past king's castle/underworld and then maybe look at some videos of later dungeons.

It start getting worst after enchanting forest,annoying mob attack,low fps = you probably will get hit, ALOT of RNG and the fact that they added legendary buff spell and then mythical tier make it even more trash. I am glad I didn't spent robux on that extra loot gamepast,the game was already monetize since samurai dungeon. The fact that you need best gear from previous dungeon and still struggling with new mode on easy mode(ik it insane mode),spending 10 minutes just to get one loot as a f2p was hell. The game requires you to have a group of people to.play which most people don't have because a lot of the time they need you to be good to join them
It really wasn’t bad I swear people these days hate just to hate.. it was an original idea which is a lot to say for a roblox game and it did its job well. It just isn’t what it used to be and that’s fine but to say it’s shit is a stretch.

So basically, dungeon quest used to be amazing and the perfect game back in 2019 to 2023, it was developed by Vcaffy who was awesome, he stuck to a theme, he listened to the community, and we were finally about to to get a great update that would rework the meta and combat system but then VOLDEX GAMES has to come in and ruin everything, and buy the game. As a result the game has been made significantly worse, the new dungeon was not at all what we wanted, the events suck, there’s GAMBLING, they removed boss raids which was nice but replaced it with something worse that you can only play 5 times per day without spending robux so there’s no progression there. And their player count went from 7k to below 2k. I’ve been playing since 2019 and I have some og cosmetics like tribal warrior, but voldex had to bring it back just for an in game currency… This is what triggered me to quit.
You are mostly correct. Yokai Peaks wasn't very well received. But, it didn't just drop from 7K to 2K instantly, it was over the span of months that led to that. And when you say they "ruined everything" that's wrong. They remade the first two dungeons, made the game easier as a solo player. Increased the base items drop which was something the community had been asking for forever. But I do agree. The gambling is quite annoying, but in the last couple of events it's been mainly set rewards for reaching milestones. You can spend the event currency on boosts, cosmetics, Gregg bounties, revive potions, and gold, even spells in the latest event. So to say they ruined everything would just be looking at 1 part of what they did. And also the player count is now steadily around 7K and above after the new dungeon Abyssal Void released.

As someone who is currently level 223 in dungeon quest I 100% agree with everything you’ve just said. Saying that though I would like to point out this game is really really old and is probably the first ever mainstream Roblox dungeon game, giving it the very barebones gameplay it has.
Trust me, you do not one shot enemies later on when you're in 100+ level dungeons. I'm not saying the game is perfect (which it isn't, though the devs are trying their best to make the game fun it still lacks a few things and the combat system can't really be changed unless it gets a full overhaul), but the difficulty does ramp up and when you get to the newest dungeon Abyssal Void, it's significantly harder as you have to dodge a lot of different enemy attacks, and the bosses are more unique in a way.
There is a tutorial, he just played the game before it was added so it didn't tell him to do the tutorial. At some point before Voldex bought DQ he must of clicked on the game and than left.
In my opinion, barley having a system is better than having a bad system. At least a game barely having a combat system doesn’t make you want to rip your hair out as opposed to a bad combat system.

The funny thing is, there actually WAS a tutorial, but after the new owners bought dungeon quest from the original owner, they actually REMOVED the tutorial.
vCaffy used to be the owner of Dungeon Quest, before he sold it to Voldex, which is a company that buys out roblox games, Minecraft servers, etc, and hires people to work on it. Before Voldex acquired Dungeon Quest, there was a tutorial that you were forced to play upon first joining that taught you different enemy types, how to sell gear, and how to upgrade gear. However, after Voldex bought the game, the tutorial was removed, for whatever reason.
@@vdemascus That's not what happened. He played Dungeon Quest before Voldex bought it, so it didn't give him a prompt to do the tutorial. And also, the tutorial Vcaffy had was poorly made, it didn't actually force you to go into the dungeon right away.
no they made it worse by forcing you to do it, so you cant just deny the tutorial to play with your friends on a new account, you HAVE to do the 20 minute long tutorial and it has scripted drops so you start at the second dungeon and never get to play the first one with your friends its so bad 😭

Decaying winter, while it has a spot in my heart, is probably the absolute epitome of a game that NEEDS a tutorial but doesn't have one, Eclipse would get pretty mad at that.

Also I just want to clarify, this game gets WAAAY worse later in the game. The enemy's get way more stats than you and the game gets basically impossible unless you get the best loot on the level you are playing on, and you need a fuck ton of RNG for that because you need a Legendary item (0.18% drop chance btw). Also I played this game a lot when I was 9 years old and back then it was fun for me and now I realise that the game is a dumpster fire.

7:32 The Roblox game World // Zero had a system that fixed the issue of never going back to old dungeons, they use to have a system where the "easy, medium, hard, etc" modes of the dungeons were each different level, for example, easy mode could be Level 20, medium could be level 40, and hard could be level 80. This system gave players a reason to revisit a dungeon they already beat aswell as receive weapons from that dungeon for their level if they were higher level than the level requirement for an easier mode. This system was replaced with a Challenge mode for a dungeon, which just made the enemies stronger slightly, and reduced your lives from 3 to 1, but it didn't change the levels of the enemies, so if you were like 30 levels higher than the enemies, it wouldn't really matter if you did the challenge mode or not since you would one shot. Also challenge mode increases awards. There is a nightmare mode for higher levels, but it's only for people at the max level, level 150.

It has a tutorial but you’ve joined before so it didn’t give you one plus the early dungeons are boring but the quality and visuals look great plus the music plus the high dungeons are a lot better then the low level ones it’s much more fun to play with much different variety of weapon and armor sets the low level ones are meant to be easy because most players are a little younger
It seems like the game was reworked a bit, but since you didn't get that far in the game I don't know if it's as trash as when I played it many years ago. Many years ago when I played it, after reaching around level 80-90, the game would literally become impossible, and the ONLY way to progress was to beg higher levels to carry you, because when you reached a new dungeon you COULD NOT beat it, because you wouldn't do enough damage to kill the final boss of the dungeon that gives all the worthwhile xp because your timer would run out before you could do it. So your only options were A: Beg a max level to carry you once or many times B: Farm the PREVIOUS dungeon that you already got past for like 100 hours to to unlock a new dungeon again and NOT play it. The only way that people (mostly youtubers) could ever beat whatever newly released dungeon comes out is by getting every LEGENDARY piece of equipment and weapon from the previous level which have worse droprates than legendary pets in simulator games, and gather an ENTIRE competent all who drained their soul farming, and then those people get that new dungeons equipment, dungeon becomes ez, they carry people and the cycle continued. Functionally the worst game on roblox.
hey this game was like the beginnings of this during 2018 once you get 100+ it is so IMPOSSIBLE to do any dmg and if you dont 3 hit it means you will lose the dungeon and if your 180+ you cant do anything you need carries from someone from a higher dungeon
Eclipse a game I think you should try out is world zero, although it is almost the same as dungeon quest there’s a few features/things u pointed out about dungeon quest that it does better like when you get a certain lvl you get a new mode on ALL previous dungeons that makes them be the same lvl as the lvl you are and that’s so you can replay them for their loot(if u get a weapon from all dungeons you can fuse it to make a better one,but the lvl is based on the average lvl of all of them) then there’s pets (that are all free) to change the gameplay a bit and you can actually dodge. Also a lot of the later bosses have more unique ways of defeating them. And once you get to a high lvl you can rebirth to unlock a rebirth class and then the next time you try to rebirth the lvl Req will be a bit higher

But as far as i can tell (from eclipse's gameplay), the game's easy on lower level dungeons, but trying to solo the higher leveled dungeons was literal hell that having someone higher leveled to carry you was a necessity. I dropped the game on lvl 170+ (the enchanted forest) cuz it was getting too ridiculous.

This game used to be different. This game was bought out by a big studio called Voldex games who, while improving visuals, have made the game INCREDIBLY easy. The new dungeons being added are not hard at all and older dungeons that got reworked are the same case. However not all dungeons are reworked,and so the 90-180 range is extremely difficult for solo players edit: I much preferred the game when it was harder as you had to think and play as a functional team to progress
I'm a little bit mixed on the difficulty of the past compared to now, because the "difficulty" back then just meant that you had to spend ages grinding for the best gear of the previous dungeon to even have a CHANCE at dealing with the new dungeon without just getting carried by a friend or trying to hit a brick wall with a toothpick, and that made the grind substantially worse than it already was getting access to those new dungeons back then. Is the game being an easier a consequence of dealing with that problem? Yes, but I feel like it's at least little justified.
While I agree on the difficulty it does not really change my opinion on it. While it was harder back then the combat and everything else but the visuals as basically the same. (Lets not bring up how you possibly wont get what you want in the RNG loot)

Progressing through DQ solo is extremely boring and repetitive; however, playing with friends in higher-level dungeons is actually a blast, it takes a bit of time for the game to get good. One major point I agree with you on is how bad the loot drop system is, relying entirely on RNG. Good critique of the game.

If they made it so you leveled every certain amount of dungeons, some people might be in the late hundreds, or even early thousands of levels. it gets harder to level up to reduce how unfair it could be for someone that plays more than others.(the reason I say this is because of how crucial skill points are)

I remember when this game was released and everyone recommended it for not having any pay to win.
There is actually more problems later on. I am around level 190 in dungeon quest, later on you will reach a point where the difficulty curve actually gets too difficult. Although this only applies once you are close to the current dungeon, they have done a good job nerfing the older dungeons to make them easier. Where clearing dungeons solo with the gear offered from the previous dungeon is either impossible or very difficult. Often times you will need the very best gear you can get from that dungeon to clear the easiest difficulty of the next dungeon (assuming you don't die a single time and play efficiently).
That may make you question, then how do people progress later on in the game? That's where the next problem is, what people are forced to do is one of 2 things, they either ask a player who is higher level to carry them and do all of the work for them (most popular option, like 90% of high level players gained most their levels doing nothing) or the 2nd option which is to farm the previous dungeon until you are like 10 levels over leveled, wait for your next daily reward and claim items from the next dungeon hoping they work with your build. Since daily reward is scaled off level.
Gilded skies was pretty easy for me, but aquatic temple was hardest for me in insane, nightmare was easy tho
you don't need the absolute best gear. Someone beat GS ins with a set of Jotun gear and an avg pot legendary. To be fair, you do need EIR or EIF later on to be able to complete the dungeons.

I used to play this game before Voldex got their slimy hands on it.
But not solo, like you played it. DQ is definitely a very boring game to play solo, as its simplicities become the most apparent there.
Genuinely, I thought the game was fun up until Steampunk Sewers. Pretty fairly balanced (past the first three dungeons), hard enough to make beating a dungeon for the first time exciting, but not so hard that you'll never find a group to beat it with other than getting carried by endgame players.
It was fun to get a really good team going and have your teamwork carry you all to victory. Hell, later dungeons even try to incorporate/account for it in the dungeon itself.
The dungeon crawler gameplay loop just felt satisfying to grind, the spells were cool, getting rare items you needed felt awesome, it was just a fun game to play after a dull day of high school or whatever.
Most of the enemies and bosses were fun to dodge (past the first three dungeons). Genuinely this game made me get WAYYYYYYYYYYYY better at dodging attacks in all sorts of games.
However, if you're not into loot-based grindy progression games, which it seems like you aren't, then yes, the simplicity of the game and its extreme reliance on RNG will definitely be a turn-off. And the game is so fucking bad after steampunk sewers that I regret all the time I wasted still playing it, hoping the game would eventually get back to its glory days when it never did (enchanted forest was okay though i guess)
There is a game I've been playing that was inspired by DQ and, in my opinion, is a far better game than it: Fabled Legacy. The game has awful monetization practices, but it solves most of DQ's main issues without losing the feel of the game.
1: you get more loot overall per dungeon
2: dungeons are better overall
3: a pity system that increases your chance for legendary/secret items the more dungeons you go without getting one
4: better balancing so you usually don't NEED the strongest items from the previous dungeon to advance to the next (the game has been getting worse at this with recent dungeons, though)
4.5: actually, the game is just better balanced overall. No infinite healing from a single heal spell or dying instantly to a single attack (usually if you do die to a single attack, you deserved it)
5: alternate progression methods with elemental raids to get special rings, and infinite tower to get sigils
6: calamity mode for each dungeon alters the AI of bosses to make them far more difficult to fight, alongside a brutal stat buff to make it serve as a good final challenge while waiting for the next dungeon. no-hit mode also exists for this purpose, but no-hit mode is stupid. chaos mode also changes the dungeon visually and gives it a new song.
7: level locks are way less apparent because you gain levels at an ALARMING rate
8: the game actually accounts for solo players by adding orbs that fully heal you between rooms that only appear when playing solo
9: idk it just feels better to play?
buuuuut, if your main issues with DQ are it being simplistic in nature with its combat and gameplay (which isn't an inherently bad thing, y'know), you probably won't like it much either. I dunno. You decide if you wanna try it or not.

Sadly the game got bought by some greedy company and they turned the game into a complete cashgrab; random quests made to waste your time, unbearable timelocked side-grinds for rings and potions that you could of course buy with robux and get instantly, a boss that you can spawn with robux which has op loot and small drops that can be used to craft the best weapons in the game... if you beat the boss a bajillion times, that is, etc.
Ironically enough, you don't get the tutorial screen anymore when spawning in the game BECAUSE the game got bought over, and most of the powercreep, RNG and horrible progression also comes from that.
I hate the "it gets better later" argument for any game with bad gameplay at all but this is one of those cases where it's somewhat valid, the game plays out more like a bullet hell later on in your progression as the bosses get more complicated attack patterns, click damage becomes unreliable and bosses get different phases rather than the whole gameplay being just spamming attacks and clicks at a bullet sponge with barely any attacks at all, and that's what makes the game fun.
The only problem i have really is the UI, and the fact that the voldex team doesnt listen to the fans

Dungeon Quest is my childhood game. I spent years grinding on it, which is painful because it used to take like 100 dungeons to level up, and there was no retry button at the time, so I had to recreate and join the dungeon everytime. It is an extremely repetitive game. At higher levels, the m1 attack becomes useless and barely does damage.
The only reason i played this game is to get the free hat from the Ready player 2 event they did

the only "good" thing about dungeon quest is the later bosses which are like a bullet hell and are a bit hard to do but you do need to play alot to even get to them which is another issue
It’s so true though. It requires hour upon hours of literally doing the same thing over and over and over. You either spend years of your life doing solo dungeons and getting little to no exp. Or you constantly seek carrys which is also just as boring.

Dungeon quest is not about combat its more about dodging boss moves by memorising boss moves, which is extremely difficult in higher levels.
the reason why the later bosses are so difficult is because the old dungeons were made so long ago while the more recent dungeons are made after the game has come a long way.
But I agree, the progressing is really slow especially when you get to around level 150+
As someone who years ago used played this game every day, I can confirm that all you have to do to progress in the game is either get carryed or wait 30 minutes in order to get a decent party
this game is incredibly boring, it has no style, no substance, and no effort put into it. and while that may be the case, blox fruit stands tall as a masterpiece, a game rich with lore, amazing places to explore, well designed quests with intelligent enemy AI, and the boss fights... man oh man do i love the boss fights! they're so amazing, they act like real players, their movesets have variety and the drop rates for important items is incredibly generous too!!

the main killer of the game is its exp curve where it geta noticeable ataround level 90 where it takes ages to kill mobs solo, needing carries from other players, then the amount of times you need to do that same dungeon (which is an incredible amount) in short this games progression is like infinitely longer than runescape

By the time you hit level 120 that’s when the grind begins and the difficulty of leveling up ramps up tremendously. Try out our new dungeon “Abyssal Void” it’s the opposite of easy.

By the time you would’ve reached the top dungeon you would’ve developed a desire to be the best and become stronger. It’s also the mystery of what you will be rewarded for completing the dungeon. It’s almost like an RNG but you have to work for it. Nothing is handed to you in this game, that’s why most people find it boring because this game requires dedication.

You should review "World Zero", when you spoke about Dungeon Quest it reminded me of that game, it's like this but very more in-depth and pretty famous on Roblox

while it is more in-depth and (in my opinion) much more enjoyable, eclipse would probably still have similar complaints:
- repetitive kill enemy > level up > get better equipment > repeat, nothing else to break the gameplay loop until you get invested in trading
- the game is not difficult at all, if you have any spatial awareness then challenge mode is basically what normal mode should be
- level-locked dungeons, which makes sense to me, but he doesn't like them so that's why i'm pointing it out
- no early game stat variety: perks barely matter until you get legendary gear at max level and most of them are pretty garbage anyways

As someone who has reached Level 150, it's so repetitive that you need to use the opposite class for the desired class you wanna play.
That feature.. uhmm yeah, the game will ALMOST ALWAYS give you items from another class.. If I had to describe late game for DQ, it's get carried or you aren't progressing untill you get lucky.
Also the Legacy Dungeons are just "haha more hp and more damage"
Level 130+ also unlocks Raids. which is just kill one boss.

The dungeons get harder as you go. The old owner of this game sold it to a company and that’s where things went downhill. The dungeons get hard after 5-7 dungeons. The new owner of dungeon quest reworked the first 2 dungeons so that babies can play the game. Another thing, dq added an op speed&buff spell and they haven’t made a replacement in like 2 years😭

you see, while dungeon quest gameplay loop is the same. it was one of the first dungeon games on roblox. also its been purchased by voldex so it sucks now (also the game has a tutorial but apparently you logged on earlier)
also please look into the late game DODGING not combat. combat is easy simple and thats what makes it enjoyable. tho dodging can be difficult in future dungeon. you should definently look at the dungeons past winter outpost (voldex reworked desert temple and winter outpost) hopefully you see this comment and give the game another look

As someone who used to play this game in its peak, it's been shit from day fucking one and somehow it got even worse. It's combat was always asscheeks, but it's monetization wasn't *_THIS DAMN BAD_*
It start getting worst after enchanting forest,annoying mob attack,low fps = you probably will get hit, ALOT of RNG and the fact that they added legendary buff spell and then mythical tier make it even more trash. I am glad I didn't spent robux on that extra loot gamepast,the game was already monetize since samurai dungeon. The fact that you need best gear from previous dungeon and still struggling with new mode on easy mode(ik it insane mode),spending 10 minutes just to get one loot as a f2p was hell. The game requires you to have a group of people to.play which most people don't have because a lot of the time they need you to be good to join them

So basically, dungeon quest used to be amazing and the perfect game back in 2019 to 2023, it was developed by Vcaffy who was awesome, he stuck to a theme, he listened to the community, and we were finally about to to get a great update that would rework the meta and combat system but then VOLDEX GAMES has to come in and ruin everything, and buy the game. As a result the game has been made significantly worse, the new dungeon was not at all what we wanted, the events suck, there’s GAMBLING, they removed boss raids which was nice but replaced it with something worse that you can only play 5 times per day without spending robux so there’s no progression there. And their player count went from 7k to below 2k. I’ve been playing since 2019 and I have some og cosmetics like tribal warrior, but voldex had to bring it back just for an in game currency… This is what triggered me to quit.

You are mostly correct. Yokai Peaks wasn't very well received. But, it didn't just drop from 7K to 2K instantly, it was over the span of months that led to that. And when you say they "ruined everything" that's wrong. They remade the first two dungeons, made the game easier as a solo player. Increased the base items drop which was something the community had been asking for forever. But I do agree. The gambling is quite annoying, but in the last couple of events it's been mainly set rewards for reaching milestones. You can spend the event currency on boosts, cosmetics, Gregg bounties, revive potions, and gold, even spells in the latest event. So to say they ruined everything would just be looking at 1 part of what they did. And also the player count is now steadily around 7K and above after the new dungeon Abyssal Void released.

Trust me, you do not one shot enemies later on when you're in 100+ level dungeons. I'm not saying the game is perfect (which it isn't, though the devs are trying their best to make the game fun it still lacks a few things and the combat system can't really be changed unless it gets a full overhaul), but the difficulty does ramp up and when you get to the newest dungeon Abyssal Void, it's significantly harder as you have to dodge a lot of different enemy attacks, and the bosses are more unique in a way.
Dungeon quest actually does have a tutorial, but i have no idea why you werent given a prompt to do the tutorial. Maybe they removed it idk💁💁

vCaffy used to be the owner of Dungeon Quest, before he sold it to Voldex, which is a company that buys out roblox games, Minecraft servers, etc, and hires people to work on it. Before Voldex acquired Dungeon Quest, there was a tutorial that you were forced to play upon first joining that taught you different enemy types, how to sell gear, and how to upgrade gear. However, after Voldex bought the game, the tutorial was removed, for whatever reason.
@@vdemascus That's not what happened. He played Dungeon Quest before Voldex bought it, so it didn't give him a prompt to do the tutorial. And also, the tutorial Vcaffy had was poorly made, it didn't actually force you to go into the dungeon right away.

Also I just want to clarify, this game gets WAAAY worse later in the game. The enemy's get way more stats than you and the game gets basically impossible unless you get the best loot on the level you are playing on, and you need a fuck ton of RNG for that because you need a Legendary item (0.18% drop chance btw). Also I played this game a lot when I was 9 years old and back then it was fun for me and now I realise that the game is a dumpster fire.

7:32 The Roblox game World // Zero had a system that fixed the issue of never going back to old dungeons, they use to have a system where the "easy, medium, hard, etc" modes of the dungeons were each different level, for example, easy mode could be Level 20, medium could be level 40, and hard could be level 80. This system gave players a reason to revisit a dungeon they already beat aswell as receive weapons from that dungeon for their level if they were higher level than the level requirement for an easier mode. This system was replaced with a Challenge mode for a dungeon, which just made the enemies stronger slightly, and reduced your lives from 3 to 1, but it didn't change the levels of the enemies, so if you were like 30 levels higher than the enemies, it wouldn't really matter if you did the challenge mode or not since you would one shot. Also challenge mode increases awards. There is a nightmare mode for higher levels, but it's only for people at the max level, level 150.

It has a tutorial but you’ve joined before so it didn’t give you one plus the early dungeons are boring but the quality and visuals look great plus the music plus the high dungeons are a lot better then the low level ones it’s much more fun to play with much different variety of weapon and armor sets the low level ones are meant to be easy because most players are a little younger
It seems like the game was reworked a bit, but since you didn't get that far in the game I don't know if it's as trash as when I played it many years ago.
Many years ago when I played it, after reaching around level 80-90, the game would literally become impossible, and the ONLY way to progress was to beg higher levels to carry you, because when you reached a new dungeon you COULD NOT beat it, because you wouldn't do enough damage to kill the final boss of the dungeon that gives all the worthwhile xp because your timer would run out before you could do it. So your only options were
A: Beg a max level to carry you once or many times
B: Farm the PREVIOUS dungeon that you already got past for like 100 hours to to unlock a new dungeon again and NOT play it.
The only way that people (mostly youtubers) could ever beat whatever newly released dungeon comes out is by getting every LEGENDARY piece of equipment and weapon from the previous level which have worse droprates than legendary pets in simulator games, and gather an ENTIRE competent all who drained their soul farming, and then those people get that new dungeons equipment, dungeon becomes ez, they carry people and the cycle continued. Functionally the worst game on roblox.

Eclipse a game I think you should try out is world zero, although it is almost the same as dungeon quest there’s a few features/things u pointed out about dungeon quest that it does better like when you get a certain lvl you get a new mode on ALL previous dungeons that makes them be the same lvl as the lvl you are and that’s so you can replay them for their loot(if u get a weapon from all dungeons you can fuse it to make a better one,but the lvl is based on the average lvl of all of them) then there’s pets (that are all free) to change the gameplay a bit and you can actually dodge. Also a lot of the later bosses have more unique ways of defeating them. And once you get to a high lvl you can rebirth to unlock a rebirth class and then the next time you try to rebirth the lvl Req will be a bit higher
