For Orks, you have Warboss, by Mike Brooks, who's actually from the point of view of 3 different Warboss : a typical Goff, a typical Evil Sunz and a typical Blood Axe. Then there's Snaggi, whose a Grot "prophet" and the only non-Orks PoV are some Guard and Aeldari chapters for context. It gives you a show of three major Klans (plus the Snakebites, but they don't get a PoV), some view into the lives of a Gretchin and has neat fight scenes. It's self-contained (although it's a lead up to Da Big Dakka, but you don't need to read any of the Blackhawk novel) and it depicts a fairly complete picture of what the Orks are like. I haven't read Brutal Kunnin', but Big Dakka suits the purpose of an Ork novel well enough. Sure, half of it is from a Drukhari PoV, but they spend most of their time talking about and reacting to the Ork (who are invading their turf), whilst having their own personnality. If anything, it makes the novel of a good showcase of the "everyone underestimates how crazy, lucky and resilient Orks can be and that's why they lose".
Question: The last few editions of 40k have pushed the Deathguard, Necrons and Tyranids as the major threat respectively. Assuming this trend continues, which faction would you most like to see given the big "versus the Ultramarines" cover spotlight?
Question: Do you think a Space Marine 2 style third-person action game would work with Eldar as the protagonists? For example, a craftworlder starting as a Guardian or Dire Avenger, and going on strike missions to tip fate in the directions the farseers dictate (thus keeping the small-squad gameplay theme). Have the option move between the different Aspects for different play styles/classes, and eventually end up as an Autach, mixing the different Aspect abilities. It'd probably be a hard sell to GW, since you'd have to fight the Imperium a _lot..._ I just think it'd be kinda neat. I imagine lots of titanfall esque wallrunning and similar shenangians. Second question: what's your favorite silly name for Warhammer? (Mine is warhamster)
If someone asks "Where do istart with the lore" i just redirect them to TTS and say if they don't get a reference they just look it up on the wiki. Thats how i got (a tiny bit) into the lore.
im hoping the new Mercenaries Kickstarter will bring BattleTech back to the level of popularity it once had. the problem is that Tactica had pointed out in a earlier podcast is that GW oversaturated the market with Warhammer over the years. I had some people mistake BattleTech for Warhammer at time.
About the new kill team box, I'm lowkey eating my own liver because back in the day I bought the Death Guard blind boxes to get those models. It went somewhat well, don't get me wrong, but in retrospective FFS GW.
Question: what is the bigger hobby flex: Owning every Black Library Book in any physical form (doesn’t need to be special edition). Or owning one of every Model (normal 40k and Forge World) from 2nd edition onwards?
The plot did get a bit Fan-ficcy, but overall I really liked it. The book as a whole is a great one for exploring how Dark Eldar society and thought processes work.
wait, do the preorders mean that you couldnt have bought pathfinders and kasrkin previously? i thought they were just out of stock in korea. im confused as to their status as 40k units and their availability

I had no idea Battletech was bigger than Warhammer at some point. I don't come to this podcast to learn, yet here I am, learning.
Then Harmony Gold happened and it's not reached those heights since.
it has seen a resurgence in recent years with the two successful kickstarters. plus they got harmony gold to cease attacking them.
Happy birthday inquisitor!! This podcast is my favorite podcast!
Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoy it ^^
As a fellow Tau player I am happy to finally have a new Tau novel

They won't replace the Warp Spider sculpts because in a few years they'll be old enough to run for President of the US. Warp Spider 2032!
Heck yeah, Oaths of Damnation! I recently finished that one, it is really good!
* sees a sister of battle and barely stops himself from saying "I can fix her*

Happy bday again boss
QUESTION for everyone/anyone:
Do you have a guilty pleasure Warhammer novel? Or at the very least, a novel you consider underrated or over-hated?
I personally love Ian Watson’s Space Marine and read it every few years for a nice chuckle
The Grey Knights triology by Ben Counter its great
45:16 Re: Traitor Blood Angels - they are absolutely allowed. There is even a traitor-only Blood Angels warlord trait.
Thanks for the show.
Question: what do you think GW should take the tau next story wise.

Cant believe no one said the new Lelith book to get people into drukhari! It’s *facinating!*
Mainly because it got a bit... fan-fictiony by the end ^^;
Well you said no omnibuses so I WIN BY DEFAULT!!
Deldar need more books….
We actually said no anthologies :P

Question: Does anyone have a specific moment in a game where you go 'Well that just happenned?'
QUESTION: Can xenos gain a similar resistance to daemons that humans get after surviving a possession as shown with the Exorcists?
wait, do the preorders mean that you couldnt have bought pathfinders and kasrkin previously? i thought they were just out of stock in korea. im confused as to their status as 40k units and their availability
GW released kasrkin and pathfinders again on top of increasing their prices
Question: can genestealer hybrids grow beards? asking for my army of fishing hybrids.....that might be wearing fake beards if they cannot...
I would love to see an army wear everyone has comically fake beards.
@gwensdad2003 sadly they mostly just look like Lenin (unintentionally) or Machiavellian villains with moustaches. Good fun though
@@BriskKnuhm Genestealers who look like Lenin are oddly appropriate, considering the final phase of Genestealer infestation is a revolutionary uprising
+commenticus
Question: Who do you think will ultimately win (outside the obvious humanity has to win 'cause we are humans) and why is it the necrons?
You just wait till the Rangdan return...
