    Been planning to get one of these. Last summer there wasn't anything that would fit my A7ii. Apparently I shouldn't have sold the 28-70 kit lens though. I'll have to start looking for a new one. ;)

    so what the hell did the under water footage look like? only footage you had was filming the guy with the camera? if both were the camera then footage sucked.

    hey there buddy, could i please have the dimentions of how big the lens housing is?

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  8 років тому

      Hey, well basically if you take 24-70mm F4 lens (Length: 95mm / Diameter: 73mm) that would be the snug fit and this is the biggest lens you can fit in there.

    sorry for my ignorance, I just bought this case but have 2 questions.
    What is the cable connector for? (on minute 6.08)
    and also, do I have to change batteries for the leaking/red beeping alarm?
    thanks for your time.

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  8 років тому

      Hey there, no problem. It is always good to ask before making a wrong purchase hahaha.
      The cable is this one (www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/97897-REG/Sea_Sea_SS_17100_Sync_Cord_5_Pin.html ) Sea & Sea 5Pin Nikonos SYNC cable 17100.
      The batteries no need to change in leak sensor, it is there for entire life of the housing.
      In case you accidentally activate it by spilling water on it, you can stop it from beeping by drying the strip with cotton cloth or napkin.
      And if the batteries die, than you can purchase a replacement here( meikon.com.hk/collections/others/products/leak-detection-sensor ).

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268

      The cable is for strobe. If you want to use a strobe instead of video light.

    I know that the 55mm f1.8 from Zeiss fits but will it focus correctly since there is a gap between the lens and the housing? Thanks a lot in advance.

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  8 років тому

      Well it should work good, other customers who have tried it, didn't complain or mention anything about not being able to focus.

    I am using Zeiss Loxia 35mm f/2 for my a7rii. What is the distance from the mount of the camera to the glass of the housing? I'm afraid it will be too small for this lens.

    i HAVE A ROKINON 8MM 3.5 AND A ROKINON 24mm. do they fix? with the 8mm in the cropp mode, do i have vignetting?

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  7 років тому

      Last time we checked all Rokinon lenses use manual focus and there is no control inside the housing for that, so I'm afraid it will not work either way.

    • @gastonbevacqua4086
      @gastonbevacqua4086 7 років тому

      Underwater Housing Review perfect! But my question was about if the rokinon fix in the meikon house? Do they? The 24 and the 8mm?

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  7 років тому

      I'm not sure you understood :) How are you going to control the focus, if there is no controls on underwater housing to do that?
      As for the second part of your question.
      None of the wide angle or fisheye lenses will work with a flat port, even if they could theoretically fit(which they can't) , they wouldn't be working as intended.

    • @gastonbevacqua4086
      @gastonbevacqua4086 7 років тому

      The focus is not a problem, i can close the aperture and everything will be in focus, and also the 8mm put EVERYTHING on focus... even with an open aperture... ; why do you think they cant work ?

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  7 років тому

      Because the lens is "Wide angle" . Flat port and wide angle lens is a no no , huge vignetting :)

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268

      That will only happened if you are using S or R model. Easily fixed by trimming the rubber seating posts.

    • @Brunomills
      @Brunomills 8 років тому

      Underwater Housing Review
      mine is the A7 II not S or R. and I've removed the rubber and even still it does. it only does work if I remove the lens. with no lens it then fits almost perfect. with zeiss 24-70mm with no filters does not work well. with 55mm it works but the 24-70mm does not.

  • @regish1618

    The quality of the housing seems good but unfortunately 28-70mm is useless underwater...

    • @wooseopkim8818
      @wooseopkim8818 8 років тому

      +Regis H because of f4?

    • @regish1618
      @regish1618 8 років тому

      No. Because underwater there are two types of pictures: macro or wide angle. The 28-70 is a transtandard zoom. In e mount, You can use the 16-35 for wide angle or the 90mm macro. But You have to use a specific dome port

    • @wooseopkim8818
      @wooseopkim8818 8 років тому

      +Regis H Thank you! I have 16-35.. but the housing is expensive for 16-35..

    • @Blackmagic1o0
      @Blackmagic1o0 8 років тому

      +Yangpaholic Y better to pay for something expensive and properly secured then to buy something cheap and loose all your equipment.

    • @underwaterhousingreview5268
      @underwaterhousingreview5268  8 років тому +1

      +Blackmagic1o0 And when the new model comes out and you decide to change the camera, the housing you previously purchased which was expensive will lose it's value( as for any second hand item ), then you might consider switching to something more affordable. Cheap doesn't always means bad. Technological leap in materials over the past 10 years, makes it possible to produce something strong that doesn't cost as much.
