    It's funny how I just came across this video. This definitely just made me tear up. I am dyslexic and ADD. I had a hard time growing up with family, friends and teachers that would call me stupid and make fun of me all the time. At one point they told me I wouldn't go to college and I'd be lucky to graduate from high school. I did everything I could to prove them wrong! Even though it's taking me longer than the average person I am doing pretty well in college and that's with no accommodations. (I chose not to inform the school of my disability because I didn't want to be labeled)I have a final this week and I tend to start getting down on myself before I start testing. Sometimes that definitely effects my test scores. Even though my husband and my mother are amazing and they show me so much love and support.. I needed a positive outlet. So that's actually when I started watching some of Jackie's videos(she's the best) and a couple other beauty bloggers...it helps me relax. But this video just helped me on another level. It reminded me that I can do this and it's OK to have a learning disability or disabilities in my case. I shouldn't be ashamed!!! I'm almost finished with my bachelors degree and I'm going straight into my masters degree once I'm finished. Sorry for the long comment but thank you for sharing your story!

      Thank you for sharing your story. Just like you, it takes me longer to do things, but don't ever let that stop you from chasing your dreams. Greatness takes time, and you were born to be great! All the best with your studies.

    I love this video so much. as a kid with dyslexia I was ashamed with my dyslexia. now I try to embrace it. it is still a sensitive topic to me because of my father, who also has it, was bullied and called stupid while he was in school, and I too had a traumatizing event of embarrassment by a substitute teacher. much love❤ say hi to Jackie for me

      Pleased to hear you're now embracing it. I was also called stupid. But don't let people's opinions become a fact. Stay strong and use your difference to make a difference. it's funny how things work out; because the people that initially looked down at me, now look up to me for advice!

    That first 30 seconds was extremely powerfull. I was in the same boat. Now In my second year of a degree. Diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD in year 2. Got the diagnoses and never heard from the dept again! I'm sick of being offered tools and resources when all I want is a deeper understanding of why I cannot structure an essay and why do things make perfect sense to me and not to others. Medicated for ADHD and desperate to tackle this exactly how you described over the summer. Game face time! And thank you for the vid. I'm guesssi that wasn't easy.

    I remember when I was in the 6th grade and our teacher thought it would be fun to do scrabble every week and I was the absolute worst because I couldn’t ever put the letters together in big enough words to win and I get it she probably thought it would be a good idea to take a day off the week in the class but it really hurt my self esteem

    I wish we changed or add the laws in America and all around the world so all the adults with dyslexia would get assistive technology help in every day life with reading and writing. We should the future for kids and adults alike.

      @MrWorkSmarter  7 років тому +1

      yes, there are laws in place, but not many people are aware of it. I definitely want to do more to spread the awareness.
