Thank you betay ji very good and clear vlog expressing the truth. I have actually seen in the past the pathetic conditions of the Uyghurs (1970s and 80s) and I am happy to see how much they have improved in recent times thanks to the efforts of the Chinese government . It's easy for stupid and ignorant people to criticise without facts or knowledge . Masha'Allah a very encouraging episode .
in 1970s n 1980s , the whole of China was still poor , so life was hard for most of the han chinese n all minorities ethnic groups not just uyghurs at the time.
Why was China previously poor ? It all started from 1840s onwards when China was devastated by foreign invasions by no less than 8 western colonial powers as well by imperial Japan . As a result , China was thrown into chaos n rocked by great political upheavals , By the time China was finally liberated in 1949 with the victory of the chinese revolution led by Mao , the country was broke.
To cripple the rebuilding of China by Mao, the uS/west allies led a worldwide sanctions n trade blockades to isolate China from the rest of the world from 1949 to 1970s.
So 1980s was just the beginning of lifting of the sanctions n trade blockades on China n only from then on , could China fast tracked its economic development and bcome rich n strong that it is today.

Islam started in 610. Not long after, it was first introduced to China in 616-18 by the Companions of the Prophet: Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, Wahab ibn Abu Kabcha and another. It is noted in other accounts that Wahab Abu Kabcha reached Canton by sea in 629 CE.
The first mosque in China was the Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou, built during the Tang dynasty in 627 CE and in typical ancient Chinese architecture but with Islamic writings on the walls and pillars. As of 2014 there were 39,135 mosques in China, in 2009 an estimated 25,000 of these were in Xinjiang, a muslim majority province. However, during China's tumultuous Cultural Revolution, all religions like Buddhism, Islam, Christianity etc were banned and some cultural and religious relics were destroyed. China is now considered a mostly atheist society, esp among the younger peoples of China.
Turkic peoples (incl Uyghurs) were historically adherents of either Buddhism, Manicheanism (Eastern Christianity) or shamanism.
Only converted to Islam in phases between the 10th til the full conversion in the 15th century
Technincally, most Chinese are not atheists. Younger people are mostly atheists.

@@bang4buck326 No, he is not telling the Chinese what to believe or not to believe. He is juz giving informations about when and how Islam arrived in China and take roots. It is true during the Cultural Revolution many places of worships ( whether Taoist, Buddisht, Christian or Muslim ) were closed or destroyed ... thatz a fact no one can deny. What matters moz is how the Chinese government does not interfere with what religion you believe in and practise now. It is oso true many young Chinese are atheist ( don't believe God exist ) nowadays and they are free to think or believe what they want or like.

Again I would just say; where actually are, all of the Muslims? Show tours are very nice; but where are all of the literally millions of Muslims, freely practicing their faith? Not one smile on these students faces, not one; and in some I can see their fear. As a Christian, I would say you should look to Allah for your guidance; and not to an organization that does not even believe in God.
