    👍 👍
There is nothing in music that I am aware of that is quite like a LIVE BABYMETAL performance. They are the the ultimate professionals that have the talent, stage presence and abilities to pull it off as if it were just another Tuesday.

Welcome back to Babymetal. You picked a great song and a great performance. Babymetal has performed this song more than any other. Literally hundreds of times. Great job picking this and thanks for the reaction.

Good reaction. 'Megitsune' is one of their older songs and is still a big favourite with the fans, they have also played it live more than any of their songs.

It reflects a lot of the Japanese culture starting with the traditional instruments (shamisen) in the intro and the lyrics about women being mistaken for or likened to foxes (kitsune - which also explains the fox mask Su was behind in the breakdown🦊) which in Japanese mythology are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive. It is also a bit of a push back against the traditional female role in Japanese society I think - or maybe it is - whilst also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength.

They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not deceptive shape-shifting kitsune (foxes), they are pure hearted human megitsune (female foxes or vixens) - and they are strong.
The intro before the song and the breakdown in the middle of the song uses the exact melody of an old and very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms).
When Su spoke a few words and did a high kick she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss.

Hey! i am new here. I saw your Spandau ballet true reaction and wanted to ask if you could react to their other big hit called "Gold". Thanks

I tried to get into this. I'm sure I may be missing something. So, I'll try again sometime. My ear hears Taylor Swift singing a metal song in Japanese with Metallica as her backing band. Tell me if I'm wrong. I'm open to hearing new stuff.
