    the 3 best rudiments to start, are the "single stroke roll, Double stroke roll, and the single paradiddle." Start slow until it feels comfortable and then speed it up a bit.

      Always use Metrodome. After using one for awhile you hear it even when not using one so then your meter with be on time. Shows you also when your off when you wouldn't know otherwise making you a better drummer when you hope on the drums.

    Nice work! That's the best substitute for those expensive drum pads in the music stores. Afterall, drum pads are (normally) nothing but rubbers attatched to wood 😇

    Im doing the same thing but im going to glue the cork in between the wood and rubber.

    I am using a milling maschine to cut out circles. I guess the best tool to build circles is a lathe.

    I’m starting back from scratch since I haven’t played into years, so I’ll be doing single stroke paradiddles and double
    Doing a restoration drum that is taking for ever but it’s almost done lol

    It is not enough bouncy when you drop a stick in frefall stick must bounce minimum 6-12 times,try to aply 1 more ruber circle on top of that red ruber and learn how to hold sticks and for cuting same thing but i used a Sandpaper rottary machine for edges

      L L R R and repeat. To some that will sounds easy but as you get faster it gets harder not to mess it up. I've tried. I can't go an hour. Have fun.

    How thick was your cork sheet?

      3/4 Medium-density fibreboard (MDF)
      1/4 Cork tile

    Pertty nice, just under few conditions: you need proper tools, some skills, enough time and a lot of patience for such a DIY. You'll probably save few bucks, as the drumming pads, like that one you made, aren't very expensive. The only reward you'll get is a satisfaction of a selfmade pad. Is it worth it?

      If I didn't have access to the tools and enjoy making things I'd just go and buy one. However I enjoy the problem solving that comes with DIY projects.

    I think a piece of old tire cut and screwed to a board would be cheaper and maybe better .

      @@Woodified I am saying find an old car tire and cut a box shape out of it . The balder the tire the better . Glue that to a board . I spend enough on music equipment . I would not want to spend a dime on a practice pad . Take care .
