I had an '08 and it was the best bike I have ever ridden in my life. I've been writing since I was 15. I'm 62 now. I sold it when I had 37,000 mi on it and I could kick myself in a butt for doing that. I missed it so much. I had to go buy me another one. I found the 2011 with 21,000 mi on it. I love it. I couldn't stay away from it. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. Take care buddy send more videos our way.
It was a super comfy bike for sure, but I saw myself rising less and less, so I traded it in for a 2008 Honda TRX700XX atv. I go riding trails now with it in the Ocala National Forest.
You did well on this. Sold my very clean 2008 with 70k on it in 2021 for about the same price and got a 2015. These bikes are incredible and a great value.
Hi Erick Nice review. I liked how you physically demonstrated each feature with a minimal amount fuss and time. The Concours leans a little to the sports side of touring but will comfortably munch many miles without breaking a sweat or your back. Kawasaki blessed this bike with plenty of unseen goodies such as variable valve timing, slipper clutch, air pressure monitors, adjustable suspension, 6 speeds and available ABS. In its day this sport tourer outshone most of competition. Many will complain about the lack of cruise control but there are several ingenious mechanical ways to control the go control. Best of all you can expect many trouble free miles. Shiny side up!
Yes this machine is amazing!!! I've been having so much fun riding it and it is super versatile. Wanna tour? Put the screen up and saddle bags! Wanna look sporty? Put the screen down and remove the bags! I have 2 bikes in one
I have an offer of one at an excellent price but 2008 seems very far away and I'm still looking for something that convinces me, I'll see your video again
Oh, I meant to ask, how much past riding experience do you have? Its just that you never seem to have mentioned it in past videos so it was kind of a surprise.
Long story short, 7 years. I got married and gave it up. it's been 3 years since the divorced and I saved up enough money and I got one. I used to own a 2000 Suzuki Katana 750, 2001 Honda CBR F4i, 2006 Kawasaki ZX14 and a 2008 Kawasaki zx14. 2006 was blue and the 2008 was black.
Thank you Robert. The lake is called East Tohopekaliga. I know the name is a mouthful but it is also called St.Cloud Lake Front. The windscreen is called Vstream here's the link amzn.to/3eYI6Zp
Hey man do you get any chances to ride 2 up with that monster? I'm trying to talk myself out of a goldwing to haul me and the lady across the country.....
I will give you an honest answer. The Goldwing was built from the ground up to be a comfortable motorcycle to cruise around. The Concours was a ZX-14 Superbike with a comfy makeover. It is comfy but not as comfy as a Goldwing.
I got the exact same bike last year. Mine had 16K miles and in mint condition, bone stock- $4000. The ‘08-‘09 Connies are so much better looking than the ‘10-later. They just seem sleeker and more sporty. Many will tell you the engine heat on these early years is terrible. I rode to SD last summer in triple digits, no more heat than any other bike I’ve ridden.
I’m thinking of buy a 2010 model with ABS and KTRC with only 33,000km for an older gentleman who is selling the bike . I have been watching a lot of UA-cam video about these bikes the past few weeks . My question concerns the drive shaft on these bikes , do they ever give any problems, are they known to fail or need replacing after a certain amount of miles ? Is so are they expensive to replace. How do you maintain or service these drive shafts ? Cheers 🍻
Concours, One Punch Man and drones, all you really need :) Thinking of a cross country tour next summer (Canada) and the Concours is one of the bikes I'm looking at.
Haha! You noticed the anime stickers. I have fallen in love with this bike. It is a little thirty but if you get the 2010 model I believe they come with an eco mode.
@@ErickMartinSucre Thanks Erick I appreciate it , I forgot to ask you , are happy with this windscreen and does it give you better wind protection than original windscreen? Thanks again. Cheers 🍻 brother .
@@conservativesniperhunter7439 yes it does, and a lot. It comes to life when you raise the windshield going around 80mph. Almost feels like you're inside a car.
I got the same bike same year with dyno tune quick shifter and ungoverned with saddleman seat..38k miles on it and I've ran the Tail of the Dragon twice.
I have the same bike identical. I love that bike. I've got 75 thousand miles on it and it still runs like new. I do all my maintenance. About to buy a newer zx14r.
Zx14 has nearly 200 horses. The Connie has 150, but you can feel the power still. The power band on the Connie is at 4k rpms, while the zx14 is at 6k rmps. Connie is a million times more comfortable.
Dude, you scored! $4300 with 25k mileage. Every week I'm checking on CL for Honda ST1300, Yamaha FJR 1300 and the Kawasaki. It truly is amazing how much bike you can get for the money. Way to go. My buddy is looking to the Kawi and I'm probably going to go with the Honda but honestly I like all 3.
@@ErickMartinSucre he just responded saying it was too low of an offer lol I don't want to pay more then that so I'll keep looking! Id like this or an st1300.
Thanks Jason!! This one was troublesome to make with the crazy weather. Decided to head to a local spot instead of the beach since it was going to rain there.
I often refer to my C14 as “Big Girl” because she has those big hips/side panniers. I see you have Pirelli Angel/Demon Tires on yours. I have run older versions that lasted a long time, but were slow to turn in, but the newer versions are much better handling tires. Long story short,... for a big bike the Concours 14 is a fantastic handling Motorcycle with the right Tires.
Haha Big Girl I like it. Yes those side wings give the bike a nice thicc look, kinda sexy. About the tire I won't lie I have not paid any attention to the type of tires it has since I got it so good eye. Yes she handles great and I just purchased the 2 inch bar risers and that should give it a more comfortable ride.
Eric my advice is stick a nice end can on the exhaust plus get the ecu reflashed by Steve at Shouldabeen engineering, it'll be money we'll spent and it will transform the bike...
@@ErickMartinSucre erick I highly recommend the ecu reflash, it does away with snatchy fueling, gives more power, better mpg, makes gear changes smoother, eliminates all gear and top speed restrictions.... It will be the best money you will spend on the bike...,
Nice video. I really like this bike. Its a sharp looking bike. The only thing that ruins it for me is that it doesn't hv cruise control. Cuz no throttle by wire. And for a touring bike that has to be a negative. And I don't see Kawasaki putting a throttle by wire on the bike at this stage of the game. Its a shame. But sweet bike. Enjoy it. Ride safe.
