Never Judge A Book By It's Cover - Things Are Not Always As We See Them!
Who would have thought that after 3 years in Trogir we would find the perfect getaway and now our "place to go", just 3 min from our home.
Having walked passed Il Ponte too many times to count over the 3 years we have lived in Trogir, we often commented that we must try this place. We were always intrigued by it's beautiful presentation, despite what we saw as a negative, it's location in one of the main city carparks.
Then we read about it being Michelin recommended over the years and receiving the first Michelin Gold Plaque in Croatia. That in itself, we thought, put it complete out of our league. Silver service fine dining, was a little out of reach for us as we poured every penny earned back into building our business, 45 Degrees Sailing.
How wrong we were! AND how happy we are, that we got over ourselves and stepped through the gates earlier this year for a date night!
We haven't looked back since and it has definitely become our "local" and a much preferred remote office over winter with it being open all year round.
Having now been frequent visitors during 2024, we were invited to experience everything they have to offer as a family.
We were excited to take up the opportunity as we are always on the look out for recommendations for our guests. We want to showcase the best of Trogir and will only recommend what we ourselves have experienced.
This is the Vlog that has resulted. And here is what we experienced in a nutshell.
Il Ponte boasts a distinctive setting in a super convenient and most surprisingly, very private setting in town, just minutes walk away from the fresh market and old town, offering exceptionally comfortable accommodations with minimal air traffic noise and all with views of the old town.
The restaurant is inviting and warm captivating views of the wooden bridge that once was, the sea, and the historic old town, complete with the prominent St. Mark's Tower.
Dining areas that encompass indoor, outdoor, and a most discreet underground space you would never know existed. Here you can enjoy a great coffee or two at any time of the day. No reservation required.
Or perhaps for lunch or dinner, from enticing starters, to perfectly portioned mains and desserts to die for, each dish showcases Croatia and is crafted to delight not only the palate but also to enchant the senses with its visual appeal and impeccable presentation.
While we were only able to sample one or two, we learnt there are over 50 Croatian wine labels waiting for you to imbibe, along with The BEST cocktails we have ever had in Croatia.
And of course, none of this would mean anything without the people who on every occasion provided exceptional service, attentive and welcoming without feeling overly formal and stuffy!

Looks like a great place. Thanks for the tour. We will definitely look at this place next time we’re in town. A couple of years ago I stay in Old Town for a few days before our charter out of Marina Agana. Cheers 🍻.
