I do not like when people put Ms. Ross down. At 76 yrs old still packing concerts . She remains Supreme. Nobody can touch her. I have seen her in concert she reaches out to her audience and shows them love. I have seen it with my own eyes. I you don't like her music why are you waching her on you tube. She is a beautiful person. inside and out. People are just jealous.
In concert, Ms. Ross always connects with her audiences like no other performer. The screaming approval from this audience shows that she still delivers the best concerts, even in her early 70s. What a nice thing it was for her to invite Ms. Gaynor to join the concert for "I Will Survive." Legends!
We were front row center for that show. I've seen DR perform countless times and this show was one of the top 3 best I ever saw. What a fabulous night!
I just saw GLADYS KNIGHT and THE SPINNERS at NJPAC...looking forward to seeing DIANA at the opening of the KING THEATER in BRooklyn next month. HAven't seen DIANA sine her WORKIN' OVERTIME TOUR @1990. Been too long.
Love this "Diane" thing with some people- like they've lived and grown up with the woman all their lives. For so many that's all they've got to cling to is thinking by calling her "Diane" they can somehow bring her down from the many pedestals of her achievements...Funny how "Diane" with all her "atrocious" singing and behaviour WILL AND IS down in history as one of the modern world's best ever entertainers. I also find it amusing the the "Diane" callers mostly come from the black community and selectively seem to forget just what she did for the people they all glorify and say are better singers. Had it not been for "Diane's" versatility in song and the fact that she was not a full on Gospel singer with all the riffs and melisma (look the word up- it means going up and down vocal scales and octaves) the rest, who only knew that way of singing (and this comment is with respect to each of them because they are phenomenal vocalists) would not have as easily crossed-over into mainstream

Chris, I've always said that as well. You are spot on 💯 in accessing that observation. 👏 That is a reality. She opened the doors for other Black female singers and entertainers to go Pop. She was also instrumental with black men as well. While Smokey Robinson and the Temptations were all introduced at the same time as The Supremes debut at Motown, it was the Supremes that was the most successful act hitting the Pop charts and outshining the Beatles at that time in history, and it was all because of Diana's stage presence, voice, and Charisma that broke it wide-open. I am glad someone other than myself recognized it. Yesss!👍
well if you mean Gloria doesn't need Diane to help her sing her own song you're right. Not sure why Diane has adopted this old disco tune as one of her own.. it's dated and boring. But Diane does give Gloria a chance to do her thing on another level.
Ms. Ross has made this joint her own. and also when you look at what she was going through at the time she recorded it. And even more so now with the death of Ms. Wilson. And the. Fact that she is one of the few folks from her era hell ours too who is still eft here..hell fam the entire cast of the Wiz is gone except for her. Damn it she is a survivor.
sad how so many people are complaining about the poor quality of her shows. she used to give a top notch show. not anymore. the sound is atrocious, her costumes are hideous, she does a 75 min show and charges a fortune for tickets. she barely sings and is only on stage for 60 predictable minutes. sad sad
