Just purchased 265/70/17 for 4Runner. Last set of KO2’s lasted 60k and still had tread left. I watched about every video I could find and was torn between new duratracs and AT4’s. Was skeptical and thinking they weren’t aggressive enough, but side by side comparison w my old KO2’s shows these are freaking awesome tires and better in every way.
Great video! Finally answered the question I've had about my 4Runner TRD Pro. I've been waiting on my Westcott lift to come in for 3 weeks and it still hasn't shipped. Was waiting to get it installed before ordering those exact tires because I thought they wouldn't fit without a lift. I'm going to go ahead and get them now. You have some great 4Runner content! I subbed.
Thank you, Westcott is an awesome guy and makes a great product. There will be some rubbing on the front plastic fender liner in reverse at full turn. I believe it rubs even with the lift. He recommends pushing the liner forward.
@@ScrambleNorth I just noticed that you have your mud guards removed. I know that gives you more clearance. I'm wondering now if I can run them with the mud guards pre-lift? I really don't want to lose the mud guards if I can help it. I guess I may just have to have a little patience and wait for the lift....lol! Thanks for the reply!
Installing the same tire today on my 19 TRD off road with lift. I got 75k out of my K02 but intermittently suffered from the out of balance shimmy. Today is a good day
Good vibes 💪🏽 thanks for taking us along on the adventure. Have you had a chance to test in roads on the rain yet? I had KO2s on my last Jeep and they were kind of sketch. Like you I'm debating between the Falken AT4W and these
Yeah, I've seen most reviews say the A/T3 is better in snow and wet roads than the A/T4's are, but I would suspect that is because of the difference in the compounds, and thus the A/T4's should be better off-road. Did you consider the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T? They seem to be the all-around best all-terrain out at the moment.
My only disappointment about Discount Tire is that they never can balance the tires right the first time. I bought some kO3 and after three times working on the balancing tires still not right
There's no rubbing on mine, I truly believe a good alignment shop is key. So many people have rubbing even with a lift and have to do body mount chops. I rarely drive the 4Runner at 80 or above (that's a lot of stress on the tent and rack) I've been really happy with the KO3 (mind you, they run a tad smaller than other brands) that's part of the reason they don't rub. Hopefully this helps.
What the hell is this? That road is beautiful! After Helene, my driveway is currently having to cross a river and two farmers lands.....just to get in and out of my house. 1-2 feet mud in places.
I would be very interested to know how the balance of the tires are at highway speeds now that you have some time on the KO3's. I'm interested in this tire but a little reluctant to go with them at this point because of tire balance issue that I currently have with the KO2's. Thanks for any input you could provide.
Nice video. I’m interested in the KO3s for my 4Runner as well. I want to stick with the stock size, but it looks like they aren’t offering the 265s in load range C. I think Es are overkill for my needs.
I have deleted the mudflaps on mine. And I can only speak for KO3. I do not have rubbing, but that all depends on alignment and everything else, so your results may vary.
any more updates on rubbing etc? getting ready for tires and debating AT4W in 275's or KO3 in 285. Same vehicle but I have the Eibach PRO coils for a little extra lift.
BF good rich makes good tires, my experience is they always seem to run short I had the BF good rich KM3 in 39 x 13 50 and they were about 38 inches pretty much every BFG I purchase always runs short but those look like good tires in the nice thing is I do think you’ll get decent grip but on road comfort going on a long trip it’s going to be awesome. Have fun out there!!!!!👍
my 18' 4runner has stock size ko2's. almost 70k miles now and i want to upgrade to 285's. i noticed your methods look perfectly flush with the fenders. looks great. i might just bite the bullet and do the tire/wheel package at discount since i have an account w/ them. but my question is what spec of method did you get so i can be sure to get the same. is it 8.5 width ? and 6x139.7 bolt pattern? thanks in advanced!
After more driving time on the KO3, have you noticed any additional rub from the front tires? Did your gas mileage remain unchanged from the KO2? Thanks
Nice tires & SUV best u can buy on the market! I was going to get the KO3's but I decided with KO2's just because it's a proven tire & people say they last a long ass time. The 🆕 ones are better in the 🌧️ but I live in Phoenix where it doesn't hardly 🌧️.. any name brand BF'g Falken Toyo all terrain tire is better than what the Tacoma TRD off-road came with stock. Lol. I just installed my sumo springs bump stops helps tighten things up & trailer sag is gone! 👍🛻💨 Love my V-6 Tacoma manual
Was very happy with my KO2s they did start to get a little noisy at about the $40,000 mi mark they are now pretty well worn out I'm going to try the KO3s but was really looking at the new Cooper Stronghold AT. Looks like it's going to be a real good tire also. Hope the KO3 and the stronghold are brand new just coming out in 2024. Would love to see a comparison of these two tires.
Don’t keep those propane tanks inside the vehicle, that’s not compliant in multiple states and can be deadly. One guy just blew up his entire rig doing that, mount it to the back on the outside it’s not worth it.
I just looked it up - 285/70/R17 are 57 pounds each, right on the BF Goodrich website - love this channel so hate to see someone throw some shade on it….

They’re pretty damn good

Any problems with rubbing? my 4th gen came spec'd with 65's. Only the 70 ko3s are available

That VW is so cool. @ 7:57 dude's got the right attitude

Have you noticed if they catch/throw stones less than the KO2s? My KO2s get little gravel stones stuck in the tread all the time.
I haven’t noticed excessive stone throwing

Good basic video Thank you for your time. I would really like to know the rig you used to air down.
I run km3s on my jeep 35x12.5-20 I pay about 2,100 for a full set I wonder how they will do compared to the km3 and ko3

What's the reason for dropping the psi down?
offroad comfort, contact patch and puncture resistance.

My only disappointment about Discount Tire is that they never can balance the tires right the first time. I bought some kO3 and after three times working on the balancing tires still not right
They are HORRIBLE at balancing
Any rubbing when sreering at low speed or wobble at 80mph on highway ?

If they still made the AT3Ws, I'd get them again and again all day. But K03 is looking reall nice right now
Do they rub?
I have the same Arizona plates on my 4runner
i'm late, but Road Force with Straight Track could help with that wobble you feel, especially if they are LT tires and not the standard P type
What state are you in. Looks beautiful
how is the road noise on these? I just ordered them for my f150 and worried that they are going to be much louder than OEM.
So far they are very quiet. I like them a lot!!

@@ScrambleNorth Thanks! I’ve got a bit more wear left in my Toyo AT3s. Maybe BFG will start offering them soon. 🤞🏻
The 285 doesn’t rub on pro? Would 275 better the 265? I’m getting a 24 pro soon , need advice ! 😅

I don’t have mudflaps, and the only rubbing I get is full lock in reverse, you should be fine in my opinion with the springs

They do tend to run smaller for sure
I might've missed it in the video but can you comment on the road noise of the KO3 versus the Falkens? Thanks.
They’re the same, pretty quiet. I would say if you keep them rotated, they should stay that way
So which size did you get in the bfg? Same 275/70r17 or did you go up to a 285/70r17

Gas mileage hasn’t changed, honestly, these are damn near the same size and weight as the 275 AT3W I replaced
