I used to fix all of my instrument clusters all the time involved in doing it I just started buying them from Brothers trucks just change them out you're done I know it's not original but it saves a lot of time and they look just as good that's just me love restoring these old Chevy trucks I'm doing a '59 Chevy Impala right now and that's a hard one to get a part for
Hey this Wesley I just bought a 1994 Chevy Silverado that has sloppy steering it has nearly everything new including steering gear box and steering shaft but I still can’t get rid of the play in steering I need help
My gas gauge seems to move around a lot when driving. If there is more than a half tank it is better but I’m thinking the float is worn and just moves too easily?
GM Tim38 I’m going to sort it out soon. They say those ceramic resistors can go bad in the back of the gauge, but not sure what symptom that would have. Could probably be a bad ground too?
Yes, more than likely your gauge is bad but could be a grounding issue possibly. When you have them full, take an ohm meter and see how many ohms you have between your gauge wire and a ground, if you’re reading somewhere between 90-100 then it may be your gauge.
Did the same to my cleaned gages with very damp micro fiber cloth painted gages use mother's plastic polish then used mother's car wax looks like new also replaced bulbs with leds looks like new look for you everyday

Yes, the one year only cars are a pain but I sure do like those 59’s!
Thanks GM. My volt gauge isn't working and I've been working up the nerve to disassemble the cluster and take a peek. Maybe this weekend.
I have learned something new today! Thank you buddy! Great video! Very entertaining too!

What do you mean sloppy steering? Just has a lot of play or is it touchy?
And are the tie rods, pitman arm and idler arm new?
@@gmtim3840 pitman arm is new stabilizer bar and bushing looks new but I’m not sure about the idle arm and tire rods
@@gmtim3840 steering wheel has a lot of play in it
I rebuilt the one in my 86 also repainted the needles and went back with LED BULBS makes a BIG difference 👊🏼
Yes, the little details make a world of difference
I commend you! Your the first person that I heard mention that a metric size often has a SAE equivalent. Must be old like me.lol
Good video. I've done that a few times.
Thanks for the tips.

Very possible, may also be in the gauge but as long as it’s fairly accurate that’s all that matters I guess

Nice buddy thanks for this tips …
My 86 has Dual Tanks and at Full, both Tanks read about 3/8 a Tank. The Gauge does go down, but at empty you still have gas. Have you ran up on that?
