@@AlexanderStemkowski Better songs are subjective. I first heard this in India as a Brit male meeting persecuted Iranian - just friends - intelligent ladies nearly 20 years ago! Now it could easily be their Athem against a criminally corrupt and murderously oppressive Iranian Mullah militia as of October 2022!
@@waybec102 Subjectiveness is overrated) Anyone could earn easy points by shrugging off The Beatles, for instance, but they're appreciated worldwide and we all kind of understand that "Run for your life" is crap, while "Strawberry fields forever" is among their many gems. This looks well applicable to Mandalay. And a song being an anthem doesn't imply it's a masterpiece. "Give peace a chance" is definitely an anthem, but it's just a poor rip-off of "Don't let me down" )
cant stop listening to it. trying to get my shit together these days im so depressed alone in some lame island with the type of people i hate. i love this song sm
You couldn't even bring yourself To stay, oh no You had to go Spoil it all I know you had to go Now I find these endlessly Colorblind days To fill You never will Take this life Take it all In your hands You were mine I could smile You understand, fine Again I dream You come to me (Come back to me) And comfort me But now I dream Where did this time go Where did this time go Did your love go I know You have to go Spoil it all And now I know You never will Take this life Take it all In your hands You were mine I could smile You understand, fine Take this life Take it all In your hands You were mine I could smile Again Just what you said was cold advice I discovered sticks go with knives I discovered I could die in your chains Still I feel, so won't you stay Oh, babe Take this life Take it all In your hands You were mine I could smile You understand, fine Take this life Take it all In your hands You were mine I could smile Again
I’m kinda glad I had almost forgotten about Mandalay, because when I remembered, I got to rediscover them all over again. I’d love to comfort her, and, feed her, if I had to be honest. She is beautiful, but too thin.
Although the band was on the brink of an American breakthrough, Mandalay ended in 2002 when Hitchcock and Freeman parted ways shortly after the release of Solace, due to irreconcilable personal and professional differences. Hitchcock went on to release her album Passive Aggressive in 2005 which includes collaborations with artists Ryuichi Sakamoto, Hector Zazou and Chris Brann. She is currently working on a new solo album. (Wiki)
A beautiful hypnotic song that will be properly rediscovered and properly acknowledged later. I guarantee it!
Well, Mandarlay had better songs, but let them join The Kate Bush Club sooner or later anyway ;)

just discovered this duo and I'm in LOVE
the fact that it has few likes confirms that it is a beautiful song, for a few close friends, beautiful and very good Mandalay
I miss Mandalay soooo much! Such an amazing band & beautiful, timeless songs ❤️
Madonna bought me here ❤️
This is a timeless masterpiece. Goosebumps.
I have loved all this album since I discovered it way back in 2008. This Life track makes my who body shiver with a rush. BRILLIANT. 💗
What a voice, what a band.
Thanks for the reupload.
I replaced the earlier, VHS copy with this recent digital TV rip, as I thought it was better quality.
There is nothing better than this. This is absolutely incredible, and the best music ever made
I 1st heard this song WAYYY back in the late 90's in San Francisco and instantly LOVED it ! 😎😎
What a beautiful song 💜🙂
I love Mandalay. Only a couple albums, but so beautiful.

You couldn't even bring yourself
To stay, oh no
You had to go
Spoil it all
I know you had to go
Now I find these endlessly
Colorblind days
To fill
You never will
Take this life
Take it all
In your hands
You were mine
I could smile
You understand, fine
Again
I dream
You come to me
(Come back to me)
And comfort me
But now I dream
Where did this time go
Where did this time go
Did your love go
I know
You have to go
Spoil it all
And now I know
You never will
Take this life
Take it all
In your hands
You were mine
I could smile
You understand, fine
Take this life
Take it all
In your hands
You were mine
I could smile
Again
Just what you said was cold advice
I discovered sticks go with knives
I discovered I could die in your chains
Still I feel, so won't you stay
Oh, babe
Take this life
Take it all
In your hands
You were mine
I could smile
You understand, fine
Take this life
Take it all
In your hands
You were mine
I could smile
Again
That bass
She always kept the bass !
@@vikaghostwave indeed!

Don't be honest if you're going to judge. This is about you, not her.
Anyone know the drama that led to this band's breakup?
