In the late summer of 2019, two men in their early twenties went for a spin in a high-powered sports car in the Munich area. They exceed the permitted speed limit 149 times. At 305 km/h you lose control of the rental car on the highway at night. A dramatic accident occurs. Only one of the two friends survives this horror crash. At the scene of the accident, he told the police that he was the passenger. While the media writes about the deceased as an “irresponsible death racer,” investigators begin to have doubts about how the accident happened. Did the two friends take part in an illegal street race? Who was driving at the time of the accident?
The three-part documentary series follows the trail of the “horror accident”. She traces the meticulous investigation that leads to an expert opinion that ultimately turns the case around. It also tells how the family of the deceased accident victim mourns and is stigmatized by hostility on social media.
