    Would love to see a before / after performance comparison. Thanks! 🙌

      The owner of the bike says it didn't seem to make much of a power difference, but it sounds better. I think you'd probably see more of a performance gain when pairing this mod with an aftermarket exhaust and maybe an ECU flash but I can't say for sure. We might be doing those things next summer.

      @@EndlessMoneyPits Word - thanks. Still enjoying my 2015 CB500X with Rally Raid kit, but I love the CR-F! Keep up the great content 🍻

      Good set of bikes right there! Thanks, man.

    You don't need the plugs at all, there is a filter in there ... Just make holes and finished.

    I have a pack of the UNI’s but I might just try the CB air intake velocity stack only.
    It will increase air flow but not so drastically where it might not tune well?
    Or just one Uni in the highest spot on the cover where it fits cleanly?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Рік тому

      You probably don't need to install as many Uni filters as I did. 3 or 4 is probably sufficient. Even just one or two should help some

    No not painters frog tape this material is a membrane air transferable but keeps water out cheers

    So why not just remove the airbox door and see if there is a difference?
    I don't understand the purpose of the little plugs with the filters in them since you already have an air filter before the intake.
    The water ingestion issue may not be as big of a concern since the air looks to be pulling upwards from the airbox. Look at the design of KTM air boxes and they are typically open along the whole side with the air being drawn in near the top.

    I would just leave the blue foam inserts out.. they just restrict the air anyways... Gotta go through the air filter anyways right?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Рік тому

      Yeah, they might be good for keeping bees from building a nest inside but other than that you're probably right. They aren't filtering the air as well as the air filter does, they just keep larger things from getting in. I suppose you could just drill a lot of small holes in the air box cover for the same effect, but it might sound odd under load.

    But... what do you do when that clogs up? Pop the lid off and blow out the lid?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Рік тому

      Yeah, that should work. These aren't very fine filters and they aren't oiled.

    How often are you gonna submerge the air box in water?
    Never.

    Frog tape is much better it’s waterproof cut the desired hole size stick it on. Waterproof washable to watch shonky production for the mod

      The painters tape kind?

      It's Frogskinz not tape

      @EndlessMoneyPits  3 місяці тому

      Thank you for clearing that up. I had never heard of frogzskin air vents. Looks like they would work better than the vents I used.

    Yeah, the upper 3 positions look useless anyway

    Bro it's fuel injected and computer programmed, I don't think that's going to help much.

    • @geraldburmeister9637

      I did a k@n air filter, full exhaust and ejk and it didn't add up to crap till I hole sawed a 2 1/2 inch hole where the original snorkel was and installed a 2 inch pvc elbow on the top and I gained a ton of low end and a little high end. The motor didn't due that low end chatter when lugging down below 2500 rpm's. This factory snorkel is horrifically small and restrictive. On it's own might not do much but it is a necesary mod to make all the others work to their potential.

    • @JamesPiccone
      @JamesPiccone 11 місяців тому

      @@geraldburmeister9637 I replaced the OEM snorkel with a silicone coupler tapered 2in-3 in. So instead of just a 2 inch hole it's kind of velocity stacked. Definitely sounded better under engine braking. Also put two 1 inch uni filters on the air filter box door. Just did the EVAP and pair valve delete a couple days. I got the 550 ECU stage 1 with a full Yoshi. It had slight deceleration popping until I did the pair valve delete.

    Seems like a pointless mod to me if it's not going to give you any gains and now your prone to flood your motor if you hit a body of water.

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  4 дні тому

      No gains?

    • @Mobstar76
      @Mobstar76 4 дні тому

      I've seen several posts of Air box mods and they all say " no noticeable gains" except the ones that also install a new exhaust and flash the ECU

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  4 дні тому

      @Mobstar76 to be fair, it's a 300cc engine. "Noticeable" gains will be very difficult to come by.
