When you mention the muddiness detectable beyond, say, three halfsteps, are you referring to, like, a loss of note separation/clarity, or do you mean more like latency/lag in signal issues? I've generally heard that these are better than most pitch shifting pedals in terms of reduced latency, but I never quite know what to believe in reviews, since so many tend to contradict each other and there are also so many variables based on equipment, setup, who is operating the instrument/devices, etc. Thanks.

I don't really notice any latency.. and the muddyness of the tone might not even be noticed much unless you've played in Drop B or lower tunings naturally.. the problem can be remedied by boosting a few frequencies over 2k with an eq when using this pedal for big drops.. that what I do anyways.. it helps

Yes the clarity suffers the more extremely its used.. some of the higher frequencies seem to disappear.. which of course, you're substantially lowering the tuning.. but there's a difference between using the pedal to go to B and actually tuning the guitar to that tuning.. the tone when using the pedal just kinda losses some clarity and attack.. I'd say for 3 half steps it's perfect.. but then it's starts to get muddy.. its splitting hairs also.. it sounds good don't get me wrong.. I just looses a little sizzle past a step and a half
