My son bought a 1998 t100 yesterday 4-25-24 automatic transmission. It has 118000 miles one owner, excellent condition. It was $10000 at the Subaru dealership 👍. He found the late 90s truck he always wanted❤
I have a 97 T100 with the same two-tone green paint job and beige interior, except mine is 4WD and has a manual transmission. Like this one, mine is not an SR5 but it has electric windows and locks. I have seen quite a few T100 dash clusters and there are only two types - manual and automatic which also includes lights indicating which gear you are in. I got a really nice T100 Leer topper at a local pick-a-part junk yard that happened to take in a wrecked green T100. It was only $100 and came with a set of Thule racks. My driver's seat is still in good condition but it had sagged over 25 years and I had a nice Recaro seat laying around from a previous vehicle, so I got a bracket and replaced the T100 driver's seat with the Recaro. It feels great and I have much better vision now. I also got an SR5 center console off ebay for an armrest, storage, and usable cup holding.
I might buy a 1997 T100 SR5 2wd. It has just 79k miles(1 owner) and it's very clean. He's asking $11k. KBB says $8k tops in excellent condition. Anyway, what size tires does your T100 have in the video?
I have a '96 T100 SR5 2wd Xcab. It's spacious but not too big. I specifically wanted the 2wd because it's more steetable. It comes standard with rack and pinion steering. This helps with cornering and handling. The 4X4 does not have it. I'm lowering it a few inches to also help with handling and to make it easier to load / unload. I bought a posi for the rear axle but haven't had it put it in yet.
I like the SR5 package on the T100, I wanted that cause power windows mostly for my dogs, but other than that, i like that basics of the base model. That's an interesting fact, I've known about these trucks for a while now. Just didn't know much mechanically about them until I bought this. I understand lowering it, especially if you're older or you have medical issues. I would do the same if that were me. If you don't mind me asking what's a posi? Never heard of that for a rear axle
The mild lowering is to enhance stability and cornering on streets. Check out UA-cam videos on Eaton Truetrac T100 to see if it's something you would want to spend money on: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=Truetrac+eaton+t100
Late reply sorry, that's cool. Not for me, but that's cool. I'm looking at getting a custom fabbed spindle lift. I like off roading more and I need more clearance. The spindle lift is what ended up fitting my needs. Then following along with a axle/leaf flip.@@cometcal2
@Topdogchase shoot if I still had my t100, I would say sure bro! But I don't anymore. I would love to show your T on my channel some day. Would love to do a walk around.
I love old toyota trucks. What you'll eventually learn is that the models (LX or DLX) don't really mean anything. It all comes down to what the original owner wanted when he first purchased the truck. You will see some LX models with power windows but then some with crank, and that goes for DLX as well. The SR5 is distinguishable though. Those will usually come with sunroof, power side mirrors, and the seat pattern is different. Sweet truck man! Jealous!!!
I have a '93 T100 2WD, non-SR5. Mine has the exact same gage cluster. It's crazy that the crappy 3VZE (3.0L V6) in my truck takes up MORE space in the engine bay than the MUCH improved 3.4L 5VZ-FE. Fun fact: The T100 uses a widened Hilux frame (fully boxed, leaves in the rear and torsion bars in the front). Very good trucks.
Thanks for the comment Viktor, Im a huge fan of these t100. Great trucks, indestructible too. You could also do an engine swap too in the future to. 3.4l, that would be cool to see.
So the only thing available for a suspension lift is a BJS kit. I'm looking at that. I'm also looking for fabricators to help make a custom spindle for me. That's hard in itself to find anymore. I want to do a custom leaf over axle lift in the back, that's why I'm looking for that spindle lift. Fabtech used to make them but not anymore. More available is the BJS like I mentioned. You get 2-3" of lift, but you would have to crank the torsion bars.
Just inherited a 1998 T100 identical to this. Thinking about a lift, too. What did you do? I am considering the ball joint spacers to 3" instead of a body lift...
So I'll be updating with a video soon once I get, (or if I ever get it), my lift in the mail. I ordered a custom spindle lift, about 4", and then I'll be doing an leaf over axle flip to compensate the back. I wont reccomend the company who makes them yet cause I haven't physically got it. Once I do I'll go over it in a video see if that's what fits people's needs. Totally go for the body lift though, I'm waiting to do mine because I wanna do my suspension lift then I'll tackle the body lift.
Still looking into suspension lifts.. But I have a 3" body lift I'm going to be installing soon. Only 2 companies sell them, but you can find them everywhere.. Ebay, amazon etc. I got mine from ebay
I want to make a video , but I just need a welder. I don't know how to weld, and especially doing something on my truck like this, I want it to be solid. Still doing digging on that. @@AWade-ws6ie

What kind of body lift you doing🔥 of a 1996 T100 SR5 two-wheel drive 3.4 l. Absolutely beautiful truck bro
Ebay sells a body lift for $100 I believe. That's where I bought mine. I never ended up installing it though.
@CGGarage well I am up in Oregon we should do a collaboration. I also got a UA-cam channel. Got a lot to learn but definitely enjoying it.

We never got anything bigger than the Hilux in the UK but that is one nice truck!
