Hot tip for people that go on big trips. Before you go, tighten the axle nut to the correct torque with a torque wrench. When you go on the trip, and need to adjust the chain tension, grab a paint marker, and mark the nut in relation to the swing arm. When you tighten, match up the nut back to when you’ve put your mark. Bingo. The nut is back on the correct tension. You can use that method on every fastener.

Hello... Unfortunately I haven't made a video on this topic, but it is a fairly easy thing to do. Just use the key provided in the kit with extension bar and rotate the preload adjuster anticlock wise to increase and clockwise to decrease the preload. How much preload you need is basically a hit and trial process there isn't any concrete formula for it. Just make sure you account for your own weight, pillion weight and luggage weight. Keep the preload such that the suspension doesn't bottom out on any bump or depression on the roads. Also keep in mind with less preload the bike swings a lot and that causes destabilisation. So the idea is to set a preload, go for a spin and analyze the ride and readjust until you are satisfied. I can create a short video on this topic if you want. ✌️
you can use 140/70-17 from Reise moto, this will also reduce the height of the bike by approx 14mm ( 140mm x .80 - 140mm x .70 ) => 14mm. Many people are already using it and haven't heard any issue related to this tyre.
@@OnceARiderthats an option..but i aint doing it... Bcz...wen i had himalayan 411... I used 120/80 R17 since 120/90 R17's were not easily available in other brands.. than ceats... This is back in first half of 2019... I faced weird issues... So... I do not want to go back from stock sizes... Waiting for the 140/80 R17's from reise...
Hey Bro, this is the correct method and as per the manual, you can check the arrow shown in the picture in the manual it only point upward. For down movement, gravity is already pulling the chain down. And moreover up down doesn't even matter here we are setting the free play of the chain.
@@OnceARider read the text on the manual: 4 - At the specified point, press the chain upwards and measure the distance to the swing arm. 5-Press the chain downwards and measure the distance to the swing arm. 6 - The difference between values in step 4 and step 5 should be the drive chain free play is 35 to 40 mm.
Trust me, that's not very critical thing, we just have to set a free play of 35-40mm which is recommended, but even if it has some error of let's say 5-10% it is not going to do any harm, you can adjust your chain as per your preference.
Hey Bro, yes he is right, I never said he is wrong, but as I have mentioned in my previous comment, that's not a very critical thing you can set the slack as per your liking I am just showing the process. ✌️

Hey ben , have you faced a problem in your bike where it doesnt start in anything but neutral ?
Hey.. haven't faced this issue. It looks like a sensor issue.
Bro what is the air pressure for both the tyres in himalayan 450??
Hello... It is 32psi on both tyres.
My 450 has the pressures on a sticker on the swing arm.
Do u have any playlist to adjust preload in rear suspension for 452. I am carrying a 65L saddle bag can you suggest how much can be the preload

@OnceARider a video would be really appreciated. I am a beginner, so only
Hello bro, do you have any recommended tyres for the hima 452? The CEAT brand is not available in my country. Thank you in advance
Hey bro, you can try tyres from reise moto, even in India people are switching to it.
Reise does not have 140/80 R17's yet for Himalayan. Only ceats and Mrf's have as of now...

Bro went to down 💥🔩
thank you! 🙏
That Amazon Torque Wrench is always out of calibration, hope you had calibrated it first.
Yes.. I have got it calibrated by an expert.
according to user manual, you have to press the chain up and down to measure slack, you are doing it wrong
