Last upload (for the time being) of Happy Birthday EastEnders, BBC1's celebration of 15 years of the soap live from the set. Here is a part of the Friday show where Gaby Roslin chats to June Brown (Dot Cotton) and Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale). Apparently June was having a "grumpy week", I'd imagine it was on hearing the news her character was reduced to one pack of ciggies an episode instead of five!
Hard to believe June had only just turned 73 here and still as bubbly today!

Yep, your prediction was right cray1875! Equally ludicrous and dragged out return. Much as I love Kathy Beale and those years, there's no way they're going to recapture the old magic of EE with the crazed illogical writers and bland indistinguishable young actors of today's cast.
