One of my best friends passed a year ago, and alvvays was one of his favorite bands (mine too). When I hear their music I get transported back to that place with him- and I can’t help but think he would’ve loved this gem. I’ll listen to the whole album for him too! Need to get tickets. Such a great band!

It alvvays hits way too close to home every time I play them. It's always a nostalgic throwback to first semester of the university. The friends I made that are since long gone their own direction. The late nights we spent creating art on our college grounds. I'm still in that uni for masters, but it feels so empty. Soulless. I just wanna be done. And I'm sad I won't expirience that first semester ever again. It lives forever in my memory and is unlocked with alvvays songs.
@@DARKredDOLLAR Absolutely. I remember Alvvays being a particular favorite among the indie college radio station also during my university days nearly a decade ago. Where the time and those memories went is absolutely lost on me. I suppose COVID accelerated time for a lot of people.
“Wasted some of the best years of my life” felt that very hard. Also I remember this song came out very shortly after I turned 18, and no, it does not get easier on your own.
If it was re-recorded with another producer who doesn’t just max out the levels on everything hiding the vocals behind a wall of sound. You can’t hear the individual instruments. It’s such a shame, great band live.
I feel like shoegaze as a genre has been diluted by subpar and too twee for their own good dream pop acts, bur fortunately we have Alvvays carrying the torch of great Shoegaze

I live outside of the country and don't have a car where I live. I'm so happy I visited my home town when this single came out so I can listen to this while driving with the windows down during summer evenings.
I'm so glad to see this band back on tour and moving forward. Covid disrupted people's lives so much. It was easier for older people like myself. Truth is our whole lives were easier. I'd like to see more Boomers just tell the truth and admit this.
