Thank you for watching! I don't mention Scentsy in this video. It is by far the business I buy the most from and melt the most of and the strategy for Scentsy will remain the same in 2025. I will only buy the bars I want and not feel like I need all the new things. What's your strategy for 2025? Will you be changing how much you buy or who you purchase from in the new year? Let's chat about it below!
Nice plan Martha 😊 buying and melting wax supposed to be fun and enjoying. You don't need to feel bud that your not participate any pre order. It's your hard making money you should spend on vendor that works for you and your home ❤. Motto for 2025 melting with pleasure not out of obligation 😊
I'm finding that I don't want to feel overwhelmed, I don't want to feel like I need to warm wax all the time and I am enjoying the feeling of seeing my numbers go down a lot more than I am enjoying a new haul that O end up setting aside and not using for months and months. This is just where I am in my life and I'm happy that I was able to inspire you to be ok with it too. Have a great week!
I try to carry my tips, what I learned from each word and build upon them. This year it’s about more joy and less feeling like I “should” do something. If I “have to” do something then I want to find the fun in it. More music, more moving/dancing, more joy.
I’ve always had a good strategy with my wax collection. I have three kiddos and I’d feel too guilty spending too much on wax and sometimes it’s just not possible with a kid in college and two others who need things and will eventually be in college. I have one small cabinet in my bedroom for my wax. As long as it fits in there then I am comfortable with what I have. Most times I actually have lots of empty space inside of it. When a season is over I have to have my wax under one small drawer full for that season that will carry over till that season comes around again. That keeps me in control of it. Honestly at any one time I probably only have maybe 100-150 pieces of wax max but it allows me to feel open to always buying from a vendor whenever I want. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a no boy in the 8 years I’ve been melting because I’m super careful with who I buy from as well as how much. I always only buy the scents I am super interested in. I know there will always be new and exciting things to buy, so I don’t feel like I’ll miss out if I don’t buy a lot at once. I’m super super OCD and having my stash under control is also imperative for my mental health. I don’t like feeling overwhelmed.
You have a great plan that is working for you. I want to be more like you!🩵 Baby steps. I let myself get out of control but I know I'm making the right changes to get to a happy place with my stash. Thank you for sharing.
Southbound is good for lavender and some great bakery SuperTarts is SO hard to get but has good outdoor scents! I have skipped her a lot this year! Only bought once from Super Tarts! I LOVE Swanky!!! She has amazing scents and great performance from what I have had!
I heard Super Tarts is so hard to get. I've also heard that of Glitterati...maybe one day I'll be able to get in on those preorders. I know this may be a broad question but what are some of your Swanky favorites?
I am making a favorites list for each of my vendors, that helps me to decide whether or not I need to order. TB'S is one vendor I will let my wax melt for a full day before changing it. Am certainly not ordering from multiple vendors in the same month, it gets overwhelming.
Love your plan, you sound like you got it all together! I'm just going to say I am very jealous you are under a thousand 😅. I can't wait till my numbers are down and I can enjoy buying and melting at the same time
Hi Martha, you should be proud of what you’ve achieved! Progress not perfection is my motto for 2025 👏🏻 I just placed my last Rose Girls pre-order today because next year I am only doing the Mario orders. My number is similar to what yours was when you started your no buy so you are inspiring me to work hard and use what I have! ❤
I love that motto! It has gotten easier to buy less and I am more motivated than ever. What worked for me with RG was not visiting her FB page. I love her blends though but I had enough to enjoy without buying more
Hi Martha ❤️ You have a great plan !! I definitely have let myself get out of control too! It definitely started by feeling so much sadness on my back issues, but I do definitely have enough to help cheer me up for quite sometime 😂 I definitely am thinking that keeping myself limited to a few vendors that I love will be the best plan. Being on a No Buy just feels like there has been one more thing thats been taken away . I think for me one of the things I struggle with is all of the new.Scents that come out that I feel like if I don’t try then I’ll be missing a scent of a lifetime or something crazy like that😂 I’m excited that a friend and I decided to share an order because there was so many we wanted to each try , it definitely helped us each keep our order under control and then we each get to experience the things we really wanted to try, but not be overwhelmed by a lot of extra💜 thank you for sharing all of your plans and thoughts! I always enjoy hearing from you! I hope you have a wonderful day and a very merry Christmas🎄❤️🎄
It is hard to resist those new scents but maybe we can enjoy what we already have and have fun trying new things when we are ready to! I can’t do no buys for the same reason. I would feel like I was completely depriving myself. Sharing is a great way to go about it. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄!
Love hearing your thoughts! Thanks for sharing. I don’t really pick a word for the year because every year I would want to pick Joy (haha….it’s my middle name!). I’ll work on being joyful with you this year. 2024 was my first full year with vendors and I have more than I need to get me until 2026. I need to slow my roll, but things always pop up that tempt me that I forgot to consider, so I really need to do some heavy thinking about it all! I’m off to stitch the word joy on my advent cross stitch sampler. ;)
Joy is a beautiful name to have. You can help me keep my joy up! I think having clearer boundaries of who I will buy from and who I will skip will help me get there. Thanks for commenting and watching!
I'm going to mainly order repurchases assuming the scents are available. My exception is if it was a new vendor that I tried this year & Scentsy. If I stick to this plan I probably won't get too much next year. I'll only be purchasing from Teddy Bees RTS's assuming she has scents I want to repurchase.
JOY!! Fabulous video Martha! This gives me something to really think about regarding my wax purchases. I don’t want to feel overwhelmed. I noticed I don’t think it’s the end of the world not purchasing on every preorder or RTS. Happy Holidays!!
I'm glad it resonated with you! I'm working to make it easier to manage my stash. I'm finding it to be easier than I thought it would be to especially this second half of the year. Happy Holidays
Martha great video I was excited when I saw this video lol up in my feed. Great goals for 2025. Yeah I hear you I am feeling the same way, I feel like I have to melt wax every day so I can just get thru the stash. We need to get to a point of just enjoying what we have. ❤
I reached the dollar goal I set for this year. I had a max I could spend and I came in $100 under. I cut that amount down for 2025 and know I can do it. Ive actually not bought wax since 9/20/24
I really wish I had the brains for the spreadsheet, but I think Im going to move over to a journal for my tracking. Not sure yet how but its going to happen....i hope lol 😊
You have the brains but it’s not for everybody. My computer is on all the time and in my open space so it’s easy for me to update my spreadsheet. I love pen and paper too and might start a wax journal in the new year. More for capturing notes.
Hey Martha! I think this is a great plan! I truly hope works get a bit better for you and you’re able to get some rest. How cool…my word for 2025 is also joy!
Hi Martha, great update!!! Looks like you’re on the right track to lowering your stash, but still enjoying it! In the last part of the year, I have fallen back in love with Scentsy! I do have scents I love from vendors, but scents that last 4-6 hours is not what I want to buy regardless if I love the scent. It’s a waste of my time and money. I will be spending less money on vendor’s this upcoming year, enjoying what I currently have. I did add up what I spent on vendor wax for the year, and was very very surprised! I could have several Scentsy club orders over $300 each and still not spend what I did on vendor wax for the year….it was eye opening!!!!! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
I’m scared to see what I have spent on wax 😱. I don’t doubt it’s more than I would imagine. I melted Scentsy today and I love the ease of use. I’m enjoying where I am at even though I know lowering my stash is a work in progress. Happy Holidays to you and your family
FOMO is hard, but I always try to remember that if it’s a really good scent, it will come back again. I’m going to continue my low/no buy next year since I still have too much wax 😬 I do have my eye on the Lavender and Speckles Pride and Prejudice collection that she is planning for February, but otherwise, I want to be very minimal in my purchasing in the first few months of the year.
The longer I've been "practicing" my low buy the easier it has gotten. Staying off vendor FB pages has helped. You are right, if it's really good it will come back, and even if it doesn't there will always be new blends to love and enjoy
Teddy B is not doing well for me. I’m not that happy with the scents either😢 Second and Spruce I just got my first non coffee order and they smell great on cold but I won’t be able to use them till next Fall/Winter now since it took so long to get them. I enjoy Lavender and Speckles, Wick Wish and need to decide on one more to be my top 3. I have very large rooms with 14’ ceilings and hardwoods so they really need to be potent scents! 😂
I can imagine that it’s tough to fill a space that large. I can see how Teddy Bees would be hard in your home. Second and Spruce is great wax. I had so much wax from last year that I knew if I ordered from her last preorder that I would be holding it for another year so I decided to skip. I know a lot of people are disappointed that it’s taken a while. I feel that narrowing my vendors will help keep me in check. The reality is I may keep it to about 6 or just a preorder here and there
Thanks for sharing, Martha. I love to hear others’ perspectives. 95% of what I warm is Scentsy, but I would love to try some more vendors this coming year. I’m toying with limiting my club or even canceling it so that I can put that budget into vendor wax. We shall see what I decide to do-I have quite a few nostalgic bars, so I don’t know if I can completely cancel. 😆
@ I’m leaning more towards pairing it down to like 10 bars. The problem lies in the end of the fall/winter catalog and I’ve fallen in love with 10 new scents because Scentsy gives us SO MUCH during this time. 🙃
I don't believe all her preorders have that long of a TAT but I hear she is tricky to get because she doesn't always post scents ahead of time and she doesn't give a specific time her shop will open for orders. Personally that is too much work for me.
Do you take into account cure time in your calculations? I know most of my vendor wax is just getting to a point where I can warm it and I did accumulate it up front but now should start using it faster. If that makes sense.
That makes total sense. I haven’t added a column for how long something has been curing but I like the idea. I accumulated much more than I could melt within the year. I’m getting closer to that goal. It’s all a work in progress. Merry Christmas Angie
My goal for 2025 is to pay my bills first, put some money back in the bank and melt down my stash. Am only purchasing from a very few vendors, and smaller orders.
Thank you for watching! I don't mention Scentsy in this video. It is by far the business I buy the most from and melt the most of and the strategy for Scentsy will remain the same in 2025. I will only buy the bars I want and not feel like I need all the new things.

Love that motto. Thank you!
It’s a good plan and you always inspire me it’s ok not to buy or feel comfortable I didn’t. ❤

I’m hoping to make it a “simpler” year for myself and for my wax.
Merry Christmas Melanie!

I have a few of his videos in my queue! 🫶🏻
Yay for adding weight! I also track longevity and scent and throw 😁

I'm skipping everyone next year! Lol. I am determined to get this wax melted!
That’s a great goal. I don’t think I can do a flat out no buy for vendors but I will be skipping more for sure.
Definitely gonna order from sassy girl aroma maybe teddy bees and salt mountain melts that’s it I need to prioritize getting my collection down.
That’s a great way to simplify and those are such nice choices! Love all three of those vendors

I love The Melt Stash and Swanky.
I hope to try them the second half of next year

I'm concentrating on RG'S and melting off my 2023 wax.
I need to concentrate on RG, SGA, Knowles, and Scentsy for sure
Wow, you’ve done really well, Martha! 🎉 thanks for sharing your progress! Btw I love your lip color. 😊
Thank you! The lipstick is Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in "Accept a Dare" I like wearing bolder lips in the winter time.

Uggg so disappointed in super tarts she was my top three before covid hit I miss her scents.
Are you disappointed because it's harder to get her wax or the performance is not what it was?
I placed a pre-order but a 16 week TAT is a bit long.

See I don’t grab for my lavender & speckles or Knowles farms wax sadly
I don't grab for Knowles Farm, though I have a small amount to melt.
For me I think there's only a couple of scents I will be wanting from Knowles.
He has so many I love but I have enough to enjoy for a while
