I am pro who has been shooting exclusively with sony for hybrid shooting. Honest to god if I could get an RF mirrorless version of this camera I would ditch my sony cameras. Love the competition you are bringing to the table and hope to see this in a future mirrorless camera. Keep this momentum

@@garbygarb31 They will make them as long as people buy them. So the market will decide. A lot of folks own a lot of EF glass and aren't entirely sold on the mirrorless thing yet. Mirrorless may be the future, but just like film to digital, some will go kicking and screaming. Some may not go for a long while. This camera makes the debate academic for at least another camera generation.

Car content is the best photo content hands down
Algorithm for the auto focus are always on point with scene detection....seems like some sorta Machine learning has been put in it.....you guys are killin it! Hopefully you guys will put this tech in pro mirrorless body in the near future...!

I feel like the biggest upgrades of this camera from the mark 2 are its AF and video features. Although I know sports photographers are in big need of an upgrade too. Would love to see test footage with the new 5.5K Raw in a future video.

6:46 how does he have the car, rail and sign in focus but the road out of focus and the background out of focus? I'm new to photography.
Hi, John! An effect like that is most likely the result of using a wide aperture. The wider your aperture gets (signified by a lower f-stop number), the shallower your depth of field becomes. Portrait photographers love this effect because it allows you to make your subject nice and sharp while blurring the background. That's probably what Larry Chen did here.

Great camera that 1DXIII!!! I had the 1DX sold it and moved to the Sony A9. I missed the durability of that tank of a camera. Who knows maybe one day I may up with this machine back in my hands. I’ll take a drive over to B&H to give it a test run it arrives.

I sold a few months ago my Canon 1dx mk II and switched to Sony a7III and Sony a7rIV... Now I have to switch back. :-| Also... does anyone know the name of the song from 0:44 ? Great job Canon.
Gonna try to save up for this camera. It's a considerable upgrade to my 6D II.
Why switch? Just buy the a9 and wait for the new a7s.
You'll throw money away by always switching back and forth.

Yoo where is that shoot spot in vegas? I've always wanted a scenery with the vegas skyline but can't find one. I'll be there last week of january so hopefully you see this.
Hi! We did a bit of research to see where such a vantage point would be possible, and you can try visiting the southern end of Frenchman Mountain at sunset to recreate it. Be sure to respect any property markers. We don't want you trespassing. :)

Hi! This video is made up of footage captured by the EOS-1D Mark II and the new EOS-1D Mark III. We only had one Mark III available to us, so in the scenes where that camera is visible, we shot that footage with the Mark II.

What is he holding at 4:38 ? Looks like some kind of internal lens filter?
Hello!
Super telephoto lenses use a drop-in filter tray that inserts in the lens near the camera body. This allows the use of a smaller filter, such as a 52mm, rather than trying to produce an extremely large filter to cover the front element of a super telephoto lens. See the example at the following link: Canon.us/aswb5.

I’m really confused by seeing the image at 7:04 It looks like he used a wide angle lens, but the car’s in speed and really close to the camera! Any idea how’d he captured that?
Hi, Tyler! You could get a photo like that by riding in the back of a vehicle such as a pickup truck. If the truck is going at the same speed as the car behind it, you could snap a photo like this. This can be rather dangerous, of course, for all parties involved, so we recommend leaving this to professional drivers and taking whatever precautions are necessary to keep everyone safe.

Hi! Based on landmarks visible in that shot, you may be able to get a similar vantage point from the southern portion of Frenchman Mountain which is directly east of the Las Vegas Strip. Be sure to check maps before you go and to avoid possible trespassing.

Hi! This video was captured on both an EOS-1D X Mark II and an EOS-1D X Mark III. Most of the footage is from the Mark III but we only had one of those available, so in the scenes where the EOS-1D X Mark III is visible, that footage was capture on the Mark II.

IS THIS ENTIRE VIDEO SHOOT BY CANON 1DX MARK III ?
Hi, Viir! This video was captured through an EOS-1D X Mark II and the new EOS-1D X Mark III. We only had one EOS-1D X Mark III available to us, so in the scenes where that camera is shown, it's an EOS-1D X Mark II that's recording the footage. In all other scenes, it's the EOS-1D X Mark III that's doing the work.
