People worry too much about empowerment cap. My lightning hammer bb build has all lightning harnessing with electrified runeglass in armor and I hit ancient for 12k crits all the time. I’m way over when I’m using my hammer but who cares. The gem slots need something in em anyway. I’ll probably do something like this with a gs for angry earth
Yeah, I dont think a lot of people really grasp that some weapons dont have a lot of empower attached to them. But the lightning build and warhammer is one of my next videos!
I would say it is worth it, if you are a min/max type of person. It does add 6-9k to my burst combo overall so its hard to deny, but I think when it comes to doing M3s and so on, having a set with just fire harnessing and being able to switch out gems and not waste the runeglass is probably the way to go. Which is the currently the set im working on building. Azoth light armor set with fire harnessing. I think preferably, in the long run, i'll have a set for different content. Like raid gear can be more specific and even include runeglass, while M3s will change weekly and just not be viable for runeglass.
@ with the way this game was made, its hard to consider all the variables. First off, beast enemies take MORE thrust damage, and are not weak or strong against fire, so these numbers are slightly off because of this(so my thrust is higher due to this, which misconstrues the correlated fire damage). I am working on a more in depth video with a lightning build that might answer your question a bit better, and will be taking into consideration the above mention variable. I have looked through dozens of mutation 2 videos, and my highest damage output and highest damage per shot numbers do seem to be with a moonstone, rather than a ruby. Usually between 150-250 damage per pellet, so up to 1-1.4k damage per shot at times in difference. But again, this is when my abilities are on cooldown, so roughly 15 seconds of a 17% dmg buff to get those numbers up that high. I used a greatsword/boltcaster build before i got into the BB, and i was hitting roughly 10k heavies with the caster, and 11k with the greatsword(moonstone as well). So part of me wants to suggest the boltcaster synergizes better but I couldnt tell you for sure.
Yup. Which is why i dont use runes of helio on my firestaff build. Blunderbuss hasnt got a lot of empowerment to run off so it does take advantage of the fire armor. There are a few other weapons that are similar too.
@ I'd love to see a spreadsheet on perks and abilities. I wasnt able to find anything on the blunderbuss, or nearly any weapon in terms of DPS times and numbers.

I thought the harnessing counted as empowered so, if your empowered cap 50% you don't need any of those. I guess the info was wrong?
Harnessing does count towards cap, but BB has nearly no empowers so I think i was sitting just around 40% when using ruby, due to endless thirst buff.

So the ruby that converts x% into fire damage doesn't coinside with all the buffs?!?!. I wonder if this would be the same with the bolt caster

I do! In the video when im testing damage perks, I use three blunderbuss with a ruby in them!

Yeah, I'd honestly much rather just look something up but I couldnt find anything that had what i needed.
