@MCtheynglegend Yep, Julie Andrews lost her voice after getting surgery, however, Mariah has always had nodes and those actually help her to hit those whistle tones so hers work in her favor as opposed to against her. I did notice a change in her voice from Butterfly to Charmbracelet but she has gotten it together since then, she is not at all the performer that she once was but she still sings well, she is just not a great performer.

I know that she overworked,and I feel sorry for that....I'm a singer too,and since I was 12,Mariah was my favorite singer(now I'm 29).....She's living under pressure,this is not good for us singers...But no doubt,she was important to me,and she will always be...:-)
People's voices change with age regarless of use and/or abuse. It's a simple fact. ESPECIALLY when you use it as much as a modern day recording artist (oops... i mean the ones that ACTUALLY sing). It's not like an opera singer who's voice is guarded heavily and only used maybe three times a week (that's what renee flemming said when we interviewed her in Portland).... Mariah still belts, but not as much, because she doesn't have to. she's a superstar.
