Nathaniel is a blessed dude! He’s got a good dad showing him how to become a man. Yes, putting up a down spout is doing just that. A lot of good life lessons here. Soak it up buddy! Many kids are not as fortunate. Thanks from one father to another!

Great video, love the tips and particularly the quality bonding time, awesome role model to his son. He will have great memories to cherish. JjJ Thomasson define what you mean by ""showing him how to became a man" ? This is teaching skills for life.

@@jomarlefevre5311 seriously? You ever see a young man that has grown up without a father or male role model? The young man doesn’t know how to interact with other men, or possess simple carpentry skills, or basic service work or mechanical repairs on a vehicle. This young man will not only be able to take care of himself but also his family one day when a repair needs to be done and they look to him to fulfill the need. This offends you somehow?

Thank you for not playing music and thereby fancying yourself as actors in a Hollywood movie. Just plain simple expert instruction, with no frills; and that is exactly what we need. Other UA-cam channels could learn a lesson from you, on how to create a video tutorial that contains what viewers need without all the BS. Excellent.

I had no clue as to how to hang a down spout properly.
Now I know there are some special tools I will need. Good. I'll be careful cutting that stuff, it looks so easy to cut your hands doing this job.
I wish I had a helper like Nathan. So many things around my place I could use another set of hands on the other end, you know?
This guy is a real American. Good to see he has a son for that teach and learn, working with your hands and knowing how to do it thing. It is SO important.

Paid to have seamless gutters installed a while back but the downspouts are getting clogged very easily compared to the previous downspouts. Your good video makes it clear what my installer did wrong, they didn't crimp the ends to insert them, just squeezed them until they slid in which created big bows at each connection that drastically reduce the capacity. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the very informative video. Also I noticed a lot of people are commenting on how this video. Is of a father and son doing the work together. I was thinking the same thing as I watched it. I also noticed he kept calling his boy son. When I was a boy. I tried to help my father do things around the house. He told me in a nice way to get lost. He said he didn’t have time for me. This man is a great father. At least from what I can see. I hope his son knows how lucky he is to have such a caring and involved dad. Perhaps if boys had more caring and involved fathers. This country wouldn’t be full of a bunch of emasculated perpetually offended cry babies. May God bless this family.

From experience, Nathaniel doesn't look like he wants to be there. At that age, I wanted to be skateboarding with my friends, but had to stay home and help my Dad. Now being in my 40s, I look back and realize that I made a lot of home repairs myself, that I would have No Idea how to do if I had went skateboarding. Thanks for the video and bringing back some good memories.

Hi @minthillbilly, I currently work in gutters and if you grab some needle nose and metal sheers you can’t get the cuts real clean to where you don’t have to scrap all the excess off, just bang the pliers into the aluminum about a charter inch away from cut and tear it town until you can’t bend the downspout at the hole then sheer off from there, you can also just crimp the 4 corners with your pliers to save some time, great video!

Measure from back of gutter to that wall. Take 5 to 6” off that measurement for your return (piece between elbows)
Next pull from boxing down to deck. Take 23 off that measurement. And boom. That’s your spout measurement
Awesome vid tho guys. I love gutters and watching diff ways people do them. Also a regular 10” chop saw will cut those no problem. .

Interesting to see different strategies all across UA-cam. No one does it my family companies way but I don’t disagree with your methods. We use coloured screws to match the colour of the down pipe rather than rivets but I can appreciate that these won’t rust over time. But we also like how taking it apart is easier with screws should something need to be rearranged for whatever reason. Also fascinated of the use of power tools across the board. We got pretty solid with tin snips and it shows very little that we cut by hand but cool to see the time put in to make things virtually perfect. Great job.
