- Marjorie Greene doubled down on her threat to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, and a lot of conservatives are mad as a result. For example, Ben Shapiro slammed “clowns” like Marjorie Greene and Matt Gaetz over their opposition to Republican speakers. Some House Republicans have spoken out publicly in defense of Johnson; however, others are condemning his policy agenda. Oh, and Trump intervened again too. It’s all getting ugly and nobody really knows whether or not Marjorie Greene will follow through on her threat, but she’s making it clear she’s not backing down. Ben is paid well by petroleum and fracking interests to astroturf their ultimate goal: keeping corporate and capital gains income taxes as low as possible. People like Greene and Gaetz often get in the way of that by attempting to line their own pocketbooks and inflate their own egos.

It's not really. Her base doesn't even have a basic social science education and doesn't understand political implications very well. She's also propped up as person of "authority" So a combination of that and claiming her opposition are evil and appealing to fear tactic that they will lose the only things they do know and love if they don't vote for her. Democracy doesn't work if you have an uneducated population. Then they will just vote based on short term personal interest, rather then what's in the interest of the state and society as a whole in the long term.
Just like Louie Gohmert, she was sent to Washington because her constituents thought it would be easier than crossing the street whenever they saw her around town.

The canard in the FISA debate is the "warrant" part. The FISA court has rubber stamped virtually every warrant request it has ever received throughout the history of its existence. They almost never say no. It's just administrative window dressing for doing functionally warrantless surveillance while being able to claim you're not aka slightly plausible deniability. Congress "debating" the matter is pure Kabuki theater. It's one of those many, many, MANY bad things that most Democrats and Republicans are very bi-partisan about.
